I stayed with my mum and sister for a family function held in the restaurant. The room was excellent. Felt very cosy with the warm colured timber in the room and enough space for the three of us without feeling cramped. The heater/air con keep up with the temperature changes and keep the room at whatever temperature you ahve chosen.The restaurant is the biggest in town and very popular with the locals and with companies undertaking training so booking in advanced is advised.

Didn't bother me as such, but my room was adjacent to the Western railway line, which is close to the property. Trains aren't very frequent, but light sleepers might hear them rumble through of a nighttime.

Everything was wonderful! The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable & well presented. The motel grounds were well maintained & the scenery was extremely pleasing. Management & staff do an amazing job!!

Although the shower was amazing for cleanliness, the shower head was great & the water pressure was amazing I was not a fan of the corner door. I am a very small person & found it a little squishy. I think if I was a larger person I would have found it difficult not to continually hit the angled door.

Black Gold is an excellent motel. It’s extremely well maintained and my room was spotless. Plenty of good strong hot water in the shower. The TV was high tech and easy to set up with the QR code. Room access is by key lock code so it’s possible to never see a member of staff. I enjoy human interaction and don’t feel this is necessarily a good thing although I can understand it’s very popular with some guests. Had breakfast and dinner in the Crib Room, both very good. Coffee was excellent.

It’s a favourite of mine, I have been here a few times. It’s close to gardens of stone where I love to hike and I stayed here this last time to be close to the Japanese bath house. The bistro is also excellent. Food is great and it’s wonderful to have what we need all on one site.

Unfortunately we had some loud people next door - the nose can travel- so maybe if not fully booked it would be better to spread guests rather than have all next to each other.

We stayed in the Hawkins cabin which is self contained. It had all necessary items required for cooking. Entire cabin is big enough for 7 pax. Location is also easy to reach. Quiet motel. Heard the restaurant is serving good food but we did not manage to try as it was closed for the holidays. Happy with the accommodation!

Not too big of an issue. As we stayed there during winter, the toilet area was very cold as the door was not wind proof. In the living room and bedroom, there is an air-conditioning / heating. Might not be sufficient for families of 6 or 7.

The room was fresh and well appointed. Catering for the convention dinner was truly excellent: gourmet quality food (including my vegetarian option) and very efficient service.

I'm not a fan of alternate (in this case triple) drop service, and my partner was given pork for both his starter and main. Wallerawang is not a place I would ever have chosen to stay at (no town to speak of, and the motel is some way out of what there is) if not for the convention.

Room was very clean and spacious. The crisp fresh aroma of the room hit the senses which instantly had a welcomed feel. The beds & pillows were super comfy and the water pressure was great. Breakfast was definitely a highlight, the food was amazing and the coffee was served hot. All up, Black Gold ticks all the boxes of what is needed for when traveling. 10/10 all round.

Beds were super comfortable. Cabin with motel luxury. Big enough for very large family. So many good things. Food was lovely, service was great.

I think that the bar not opening until 5:30 was a little inconvenient as we had a large amount of family all staying there and wanted to be able to congregate together. We solved problem by going off site.

Very impressed with this motel. It was clean, had comfortable beds, and it was clear that a lot of effort had been made to bring it up to a high standard. Lovely white towels, fridge and coffee making facilities - there was nothing else we needed for our 2 nights there. We had dinner at the restaurant twice. Great meals and the staff are lovely. Would happily stay again.

Owners are fabulous hosts, very knowledgeable, and caring. Staff are professional and efficient. Food is amazing, and rooms are pristine, comfy, and well appointed. Great water pressure in shower, beds were warm and comfortable and the surroundings were pristine and immaculate. Linda and Rob are such beautiful and caring owners who take immense pride in their motel.
