We had a really enjoyable stay at Federation Gardens & Possums Hideaway. The location is peaceful and the grounds are beautiful — a perfect mountain escape with a warm and cosy feel. Our little one had an absolute ball exploring the grounds and loved the small activities that had been thoughtfully left in our room. The on-site games room was also a huge hit and such a great bonus for families! One of the loveliest touches was the marshmallows in our room to toast around the fire in the evening — simple, but so memorable. All up, we had a great time and would recommend it to anyone looking for a family-friendly, relaxing getaway in the mountains — just don’t forget to bring a hotspot if you need to stay online!

The only downside for us was the lack of Wi-Fi, which did make things a bit tricky when trying to stay connected or look up local information. It’s definitely something to be aware of if that’s important to your stay.

Perfect little hideaway for couples. Loved that it was the kid free section of the property. Lots of wildlife around. Got visits from the resident possums. Love that they leave you an apple on your first night to feed them. Spa bath is perfect after a day of hikes and exploring. Still very close to Katoomba, Lithgow and obviously Blackheath - yet still very private. The little kitchenette is great for when you want to stay in. And the balcony in the evening overlooking the bush and the sunset is a dream. The young lady at reception is so bubbly and friendly as well. We will definitely be back!

Loved the facilities, and that they were free, the games, sport equipment, marshmallows for the fire pit, heated indoor pool and laundry. Beds were comfortable with the exception of the rollaway. Cabin was well equipped and the fire was cosy when it rained, cabin accommodated 5 adults well. Staff were friendly. It was so peacefully quiet to sleep.

After kindly accomodating us, last minute, with an extra adult staying, the only negative would be the rollaway bed was too firm, uncomfortable.

Our second visit at Federation Gardens & Possums Hideaway was equally as enjoyable as the first, exceeding our expectations. Our host, Jess, greeted us warmly and made us feel perfectly at home from the time we arrived. The accommodations itself provide a range of features that serve well to both adults and children. The BBQ area was well-equipped and maintained, making it ideal for family meals and quiet gatherings. In addition, the pool was popular with the youngsters. They spent hours enjoying the indoor and heated water, which kept them comfortable no matter what the weather was like. Another notable feature was the fire pit. Everything was lovingly provided, including firewood, fire starters, and marshmallows in the room, which the kids thoroughly enjoyed. These simple gestures made our stay quite unforgettable. The kids' gaming room was well-stocked with activities like as table tennis, several sorts of balls for different sports, and much more. The addition of a tennis court with rackets and balls expanded the variety of outdoor activities accessible. In addition to the various attractions of Federation Gardens & Possums Hideaway, the reception area has a large selection of movies and board games. Guests can select from this collection for free. This feature is very tempting to families and parties searching for indoor entertainment, particularly in the evenings or on rainy days. The location of Federation Gardens and Possums Hideaway is also worth noting. It is conveniently located within walking distance of Evan's Lookout, Grand Canyon, and Walls Cave, providing easy access to some breathtaking natural sites.

The cabins were so cozy and quaint and unexpectedly spacious. We were there for a youth conference and the travel time from there and back was super convenient. I felt like a native before the end of the first day.

The only issue wasn’t really the fault of the property but the others staying in the cabins on the other side were very loud. We could hear them through the walls when they came in past midnight.

Cosy comfy stay. Stayed at the 5 bed cottage. Spacious rooms and lots of beds for our children to choose from. Lovely pool, small play area, and a fire pit + mushmellow at night for a good memory.

Bring your own frying pan. Bit cold at night. Do the hand wash instead using a dishwasher. Internet only works near the windows. Otherwise all good.

Beautiful, homely accommodation with amazing grounds. The kids loved climbing in the trees and playing in the games room. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Very limited phone reception and lack of wifi was a bit challenging

We like the size of the accommodation. The bed was SO comfortable, like being on a cloud. The space was clean. We loved the wash and dryer machine option. Fire pit was a big plus with marshmallows included. Our kids enjoyed receiving activity packs on arrival and we appreciate the warm hospitality throughout. Our stay was picture perfect.

We only wished the shower head had dispursed even pressure.

A wonderful warm welcome on arrival! Jess was so welcoming and bubbly, it was like being welcomed home. Place is easy to find and park, cottage was clean and comfortable, facilities were great (especially the pool!). We are definitely choosing Federation Gardens again when we come back to Blue mountains.

Beds are a little on the soft side, it may be the mattresses are due for a changeover

Great for families, lots of activities to keep the kids occupied and being surrounded by the beautiful nature. Only a short 4 minute drive to a local bistro to eat which was also convenient. The rooms are very clean & cosy, loved the fireplace which kept the whole 2 bedroom nice and warm. We toasted marshmallows and made use of the pool! Honestly a great 10/10. Highly recommend and also very affordable!
