Clean modern hotel 10 minutes walk to the historic centre of Madrid, also accessible by foot to/from the Atocha main line rail station (downhill from the hotel, and well paved for cases with wheels, allow 25-30 minutes). 10-15 minute walk also to the the Puerta/Plaza del Sol and its own Metro and "overground"/urban trains (Cercanías). Staff are friendly and helpful and speak English. Rooms are clean and well serviced. Showers in the superior rooms are very good, tho as the taps are a bit distant to the heads it means they are slow to respond to changes. Free bottle of water each day was welcome. Air con not too loud at night and airflow is a bit powerful perhaps - tho in hotter months you might welcome that.

Bit pricey (tho this is Madrid) and the two chairs provided didn't encourage sitting in them. I didn't find the bed overly comfortable with some back discomfort, my partner was OK. There was a reading light only on one side of the bed (odd).

Excellent location to be able to walk everywhere we wanted to go and so many dining/bar options nearby in every direction. Very helpful staff. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious. Wifi was good. I'd booked a bedding preference of twin share/2 beds but the room ended up having a double bed. In Aus-sizes it was a Queen (not a King). We arrived late at night and I couldn't be bothered to query it with reception/have to move rooms. We're both tall so it wasn't as comfortable as 2x beds or a King, but it was fine for 3 nights. The room was lovely and quiet being on the internal part of the building.

The lighting in the bathroom sucked for doing makeup each day. The shower had only a rain shower, or a hand held nozzle situated at waist height, which was weird.

Very good location for public transport (underground, Cercanías (urban trains), mainline trains) and principal sights of Madrid. Staff helpful and all spoke English. Modern room with strong air con. Good rain shower. We used this hotel initially on our vacation after flying in and at the end of it after touring and before flying out. You may see another review. We had different rooms on the two stays.

OK this is Madrid which means this is a bit pricey. I had problems with the bed in the morning, my partner was very happy. Chairs didn't look comfortable and didn't use them. Reading light only on one side of the bed.

What an excellent hotel. In a wonderful main area of Madrid this boutique hotel is quiet and comfortable. The staff were delightful and so incredibly helpful, breakfast was incredible quality and the rooms were modern, clean and well kept. The location of the hotel was perfect. A short walk to excellent bars and restaurants as well as the metro. Take a stroll to the markets, plaza mayor and any other major sight seeing area. We travelled with 2 kids and had a king bed with bunks and it was perfect. Well sized rooms and they were so kind to the kids! Highly recommend this hotel for anyone going to Madrid.

Very clean and great location. Particularly, no noise at night despite being central. Staff were super lovely and accommodating. Bathroom was a good size and shower nice. Amazing breakfast - catered for all my lactose and gluten intolerances. Plenty of options and machine that squeezes oranges in front of you. Plus they offer chocolate and churros ! The AC was best we have experienced in Spain - blasts cold air!!

Some basic supplies missing like body cream and hair conditioner. Pillows were strange - long narrow and too thin. But two were too thick. However managed fine.

We signed up for breakfast and we were not disappointed. Lots of variety and hours are good. Many times breakfast ends at 9:30 or 10 too early for us. This ended at 11 during the week and 12 on the weekends. The hotel is also located next to a few subway stations. The location for us was perfect.

Not much we did not like. Great breakfast our room was cleaned and bed made every day, which is a rarity in most places we have stayed. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a great time staying at the Catalonia Plaza Mayor over the New Year period. The hotel itself is comfortable, clean and is furnished to a high standard. The staff are lovely and welcoming and very helpful. The breakfast on offer is excellent and we also enjoyed the New Year’s Eve dinner which the chefs altered to allow for specific dietary requirements without any fuss. We were well looked after and would certainly stay again.

We arrived late at night and got our room pretty fast. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We had one breakfast at the hotel (only because we love to have breakfast while exploring the city) and it was wonderful, with a good selection and value for money. We really liked the room it self, it had enough space and it was clean. A coffee machine would be nice to have in the room, and some more natural light (the view from the window was nothing interesting though). Other than that it was perfect for our needs.

Location was perfect - very central, with easy access to all areas of the City. Even though we were in the City, the room was well insulated from the noise and we didn’t hear anything at night - it was very comfortable and a great nights sleep. The breakfast was very well presented and a really good selection. The team were very welcoming and helpful.

If I had to pick anything, I would have liked more coffee and milk in the room. 1 drink each per day was not enough for us - there was a good selection of tea but not enough milk (even if we had wanted to drink tea). I’m sure if we’d asked, they would have provided more.

I really loved the location, everything was close to the hotel. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. The shower was amazing and they provide all the cool stuff like a shower cap, a comb, q-tips, complimentary water and etc. We really appreciated that the hotel staff let us check-in 2,5 hours earlier as we’ve arrived from Barcelona at 12pm and needed to rest and refresh (they had our room ready and the hotel wasn’t full the night before). They also stored all of our baggage the next day before our flight. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, it was great!
