I loved the location; I loved the fact that the room is always clean; I appreciated the reasonable rate, which is what led me to book it in the first place; lastly, I appreciated the fact that this Hostel literally feels like being at home, with very simple and effective check-in & check-out processes.

Sharing here so others know: the Hostel is located at a busy neighbourhood. Therefore, if your room is on the street-side, like mine was, expect chatter early in the morning from the night-crawlers. However, that did not bother me at all! I'm only sharing so future guests are aware.

Firstly the lady who runs the hostal is soo nice, kind and helpful; I want to thank her one more time from here. Even she doesn’t have to, she took my luggage after check out for hours. Secondly, even though the building and the facility is not modern the room (including the bathroom inside) was very clean. Location is also close to everywhere you would like to see in Madrid, its very central. There is no Air conditioner in the room but there were a ventilator which was working well, I didnt have any problem with the heat during my stay. Overall, it was a nice stay thank you to Hostal Zabala again:)

The hotel is perfectly located, close to everything you might need. The room was clean and cozy, though small, just as described, so we knew what to expect. The highlight of our stay was the exceptional staff (the lady at the reception) who was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always eager to help. We visited in December2024, and the room stayed warm and comfortable throughout. The hot shower was excellent, and although the TV only had Spanish channels, it didn’t bother us. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily return in the future

Even if it's classed as a hostel, this place was great! Really clean, very accommodating, and cozy, staff was really nice, available, and approachable. The room was slightly tight but nonetheless comfortable enough for 2 people and the small balcony overlooking the street of Madrid was a great plus. In a bustling, central area, with lots to do, both in terms of tourist attractions close by and restaurants/shops/bars. They gave us 2 separate keys upon request, which was really helpful for us, and they also gave us even an excess of toiletries. Metro stop just in the same street. I'd definitely stay again!

Really thin walls - one night there was a complaint about us, for literally just talking in the room after midnight :D The next night, my friend and I listened to audioporn from the other room, so we understood how thin the walls were :D (we didn't complain, love is great!! lol) Another thing is that also cleaning must be done by 11 am I believe - so if you'd like to sleep in late or take more time to get ready before you go out, prepare to not have the room cleaned.

The location is perfect, close to all the events and main attractions. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. The woman who takes care of the apartments was very kind and always available. There was a language barrier, but it didn’t diminish the great impression. All in all, it was wonderful.

Poor insulation, everything is heard. You can hear noise from the outside, and for those it bothers, it might not be suitable, but it didn’t bother us

The location was very handy. Lots of BiciMAD bikes at Anton Martin metro. Great breakfast coffee shop and wine bar by metro. Staff were very nice. Clean room and private bathroom.

There was often quite a bit of noise late at night from the street, as there was a more spacious section of sidewalk next to Hostal where young people often gathered until early hours of morning.

Nice design, balcony was cute and staff very attentive and kind. Toilet a tiny bit cramped for uber tall people but for a short ish person it was fine. Hot water great and very short walk to train station. Not too much space to open suitcase but doable. Bed were on the firmer side if you like that

Allergies acted up slightly even though room was clean. Might just be building but keep window open and you should be okay.

Amazing hostel and host, everything is really good, the place is clean and has a good amount of space. The host can speak a little bit of English, google translate using audio is handy. She is a really lovely lady. Thank you for the amazing experience. All the places we went were within 10-20 minutes of walking, many supermarkets nearby ( Día, Lidl, Carrefour (both 24 hr and express)) good for travellers who likes to shop goodies at supermarkets.

Very friendly and helpful staff - one of the receptionists spent some time helping me learn to open the door. However, there is a large language barrier if you don't speak Spanish as neither staff member I encountered spoke any English. Location is good, in the Barrio de las Letras, easy to get to the Plaza Mayor area

The hostel occupies part of the first floor in a historic building - you'll need to use the intercom to gain entry into the building and then ring the bell when you reach the hostel's door. Once you check in, you'll be given a fob to enter the building and a set of keys (one for the main door of the hostel, the other for your room). It can be quite a task to learn to open the main door, but once you've past that, it's all pretty straightforward.

Great stuff (very kind and very flexible and helpful - stayed beyond hours for my check in when I was very delayed due to train problems, and allowed me to change the dates), great location (close to everything), big, comfortable and asthetic rooms.

Wifi is not the strongest. Also notice not all rooms have AC, some have just a fan, which is actually good enough. However, if it's important to you make sure you order a room with AC.
