The staff were available, responsive, helpful and friendly. The location was fantastic; bang in the middle of everywhere. The place had an elevator which was a big relief as we were carrying heavy suitcases. It was clean; basic amenities were present. The room was quite small leaving hardly any space to move around with our suitcases there. All the electronics were working fine. The beds were clean and comfortable. It was a bit on the warm side but not warm enough to turn on the AC. A fan would be a good idea in the room. Access was super easy and the hotel staff were very helpful in guiding us on how to reach them. Overall I was happy with my stay there and would stay there again next time.

Great central location close to everything. The staff are very friendly and responsive. Bed was super comfortable and air conditioning was great. We felt very safe and rebooked for our last night on our way back home.

Rooms are super small. There was an air freshener the was plugged in the bathroom and it was an overwhelming perfume. I was sensitive to it so I had to unplug it and wrap it in plastic to be able to tolerate it. Unfortunately my tv and my safe were not working.

.The hotel is really well located and very comfortable.

The hotel check-out is at 11:30. I went out to have breakfast and got lost two blocks and arrived at the hotel at 11:39. The young lady at the front desk told me off and had already called me twice on WhatsApp (but I didn't have internet on the street). Wow, it was just a few minutes that were unfriendly. Although it must be orders from the hotel. So if you don't want to be reprimanded, leave right at 11:30 am

The staff were extremely helpful and efficient. We booked a paid car park which is quite the experience in itself accessing, but they staff were amazing making that work. The room was perfect and extremely clean. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed being able to open the balcony doors. The location is perfect to walk around all the hot and popular spots in Madrid.

Access to the car park is literally through the lobby via a very narrow passageway to a courtyard where you park inside a single garage. Access is reliant on staff support. You really need to be a confident driver to use this park but it is very handy if you're happy to leave the car for your stay and just use your feet.

Almost everything was as it should be: the water in the bathroom ran hot almost immediately, the bed didn't give me back pain, turning on and adjusting the heating was simpler than usual, the safe door worked. Very well designed.

Very minor things: I'd have preferred a duvet rather than sheets and blankets, pillows on the bed rather than a bolster and cushions.

The location is great. The property was clean. Kind staff. Available on WhatsApp. We had a night flight and they allowed us to leave the luggage in their premises after the check out.

At the beggining we received a room we didn't like, we asked the staff to change the room. They were kind, and after few minutes we got a room we were satisfied with.

Room was small but ok for 1 person. With 2 it might get a bit tight. You get what your pay for but overall it’s ok! Walls are a bit thin but it’s really not that big of a deal unless you’re a very light sleeper. But once again you get what you pay for!

The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful, especially Jenny!! The room was nice, but I expected a better view (Room 25) The pillow was very uncomfortable!! The air conditioner was great and cooled off the room very quickly!

Didn’t stay at Hostal Castilla I; two or so hours prior to check in I received a text to say I would be relocated to its sister hostel, Hostal Castilla II, due to refurbishment / unavailability of booked room. New location was in the centre and great; can’t compare room / service etc as didn’t experience first property

The room was extremely clean, the bed is comfortable and you have all necessary equipment to enjoy your stay. The rooms are renovated and everything looks nice. The staff was really nice with us.

As most of the places around due to the age of the building construction you can hear absolutely everything, even a simple conversation from the near room. We have been in other "hostales" in the same area and we experienced the same situation.
