location. Value-was worried when I saw that it was a 2-star hostal as I have never stayed in that category before but was pleasantly surprised at the quality for the money. The neighborhood is not fancy but it was great to find a place to get my hair done for only 12 euros and a mani/pedi for 20, both a real bargain and next door. Plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, all kinds of stores all around and 1/4 block to the Aston Martin metro station. Prado, Thieyssen museums close by as well as retiro park and if you want to go upscale for a drink, ritz not far either.

entrance was a bit confusing for the first time. You check into one hostal and then walk to another where they do not have a 24 hour reception but you can call the one where you check into at Atocha 43. Would be nice if they had someone walk over with you to show you where to go upon arrival.

Everything was awesome!

- The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. - The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of all the main attractions. - Housekeeping cleaned the room and changed the towels every day. - The air conditioning is a bit noisy, but it cools the room down very quickly. - The hotel offers great value for money.

The only downside was the very thin walls. I could clearly hear water running when someone in the neighboring room used the bathroom. That said, it wasn’t a big issue and didn’t affect my overall impression of the hotel.

I had doubts before booking this place, as I was not sure what a hostal means. It’s actually a brand new facility, very clean, spacious room, great bed, big doors to a little balcony, 10 minutes walking distance on a straight road to Atocha Train Station on the left side and Retiro Park on the right. Plenty of coffee shops around for delicious breakfast. Carrefour next door. It was a positive experience and I wish to congratulate the cleaning team. Everything spotless + they are very courteous and happy to help. I loved the bed and the coffe machine in the room.

It’s not really soundproof, I didn’t hear any noise from the street, but I could hear all other guests. They were reasonable people, nothing outrageous, but still present. My room was facing an inside patio, so I guess I was lucky. In the future I hope they will make use of their own reception and there’s no need to collect the access card from the other place. It’s a very reasonable 3-4 minutes walking distance, but not convenient when raining and having more than one suitcase.

very nice receptionist 😌 at Hostal Cervelo (where you check-in and get keys). clean room. Room made up each day (fresh towels every 2nd day). Bed comfortable. Small fridge. A/C worked well. Double glazed door to tiny balcony gives fresh air and light. Carrefour express 1 min away. pubs, restaurants within walking distance. Metro just up the Street.

Very noisy calle Magdalena (but double glazing offsets.) A bit marred by finding my phone stolen. This was at Renfe Atocha station so not the fault of the Hostal. Be warned leave nothing of value in your backpack in such a crowded place (particularly if a senior citizen and looking at your other phone for Google directions.

Front desk staff, Lily, Lorana and Josea were incredibly nice and helpful. The room was huge and bathroom very nice. The location is fantastic! Plaza Mayor, San Miguel Mercado, Cathedral, and the Palace are only a 10-15 min walk from Cervelo Hostal (where a delicious breakfast was served every day). If you walk 20 min in the other direction, you can reach the main road to the Park, Neptune Fountain, and Museums (free after 5pm-long line). Gracias!!

This hotel is located very close to the center of Madrid, to main attractions, and to the metro station. It's really easy to get to the airport. Very quiet. In rooms you have everything you need for your short stay. Nice breakfast, lots of bakery, and fruits, but not enough cheese/sausages. I'd recommend to improve it. Responsive staff. Personnel at the reception were always friendly. The room is cleaned upon request, but since I asked for it daily, the staff cleaned it up well. The only thing is that sometimes girls forgot to put toilet paper in.

VERY small room for 2 people. Not enough spare space. And just one small mirror in the toilet. Would be better to put in the rooms one more mirror (at least on the door).

Property is right next to a Metro station, is pretty close to a lot of the big tourist plazas, has a lot of restaurants around. The property has nicely updated fixtures, very good ac, very clean, daily room service and towel change. There is a front desk for your service and they were happy to hold our luggage before checking-in and after checking-out. Beds are ok. Duvets are good.

The area is noisy after midnight, and you may hear it unless you sleep soundly or sleep with headphones. (We sleep with headphones and sleep soundly so it didn’t bother us.) The soundproofing between rooms is good, though.
