Very clean unit, great location, quiet considering on main road, spa bath was so relaxing, beds and chairs comfy. 10/10 for service from the owner upon check in and throughout entire stay. Loved the bikkies and chockies that were in the room and went down well with a hot cup of tea 😊😊 Highly recommend Barringtons Motor Lodge to anyone looking for a great place to stay. We will definitely be back and have found our go-to accommodation when staying in Whakatane. Thank you for the great service, awesome accommodation and very tasty breakfast.

Absolutely nothing, loved everything!!!

It was nice and quiet. The room was perfect. With the right facility's you need to have a comfortable stay, and most softest towels. The room smelt nice, and the beds were comfortable. Beds weren't too hard. Heaps of extra pillows and blankets. The spa bath was great. Water pressure of the shower was awesome and even had a warming towel rack.

There were netting in the bedroom, so we couldn't open our curtains in the room or you saw right out to the building next door.

I loved how the owner sorry I have forgotten his name off the top my head. But he was absolutely fantastic to deal with, especially when our job is weather dependent and needed an extra night due to the rain last minute he just made it happen! Absolute legend if you ask me! And the ladies who clean the place do a brilliant job!!! Honestly would highly recommend these guys to anyone!

Nothing bad I could even say about this place or the staff!

The room we booked was spacious and quite comfortable. Close distance to the city centre and supermarkets. The owners were very kind and helpful. All the amenities available in the room were in really good condition and our stay in general was pretty comfortable.

I didn't realise how close the lodge was to the main road, we found it to be quite noisy as we could hear the natural noise from the street at night because we kept the windows open given we travelled in summer time, which could be an issue for light sleepers. Unfortunately, our neighbours were smokers and were smoking just outside of their unit, so the smell travelled quite easily and abundantly into our room. And it forced us to keep the front window close, which was not ideal for us. We mentioned it to the owner and suggested to keep the lodge smoke-free as quite a lot of places in NZ already do so. They took the suggestion on board quite well.

Such an amazing property, we had the two bedroom spa room which consisted of a large living area, two large bedrooms, plenty of space for our whānau of 6. Modern & clean and with everything we needed. After travelling for 5 weeks and staying in multiple motels, we can say that this place by far was the best. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again. Super friendly check in, relaxed atmosphere and overall a really positive experience.

Friendly service on arrival. Spacious room means you are able to get contents out of bags. Good shower and nice fluffy towels. In a good location for Whakatane and exploring the local region. Onsite parking.

Two nights of sleep disrupted by adjoining inhabitants. First night they got up at 4 am and ran their car outside while banging about before departing. Second night, other side of us, returned home around midnight and banged and crashed against wall...sounded like furniture movers! While this is not the fault of the moteliers, perhaps the insulation/ soundproofing between units is poor? I could also hear the neighbours using the toilet.

Rooms were clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Plenty of tea and coffee etc, towels were so fluffy. Looks as though the units have been given a makeover recently and it shows. The water pressure even on the hot water is awesome, pins you to the wall of the shower, really great. Next time we visit hopefully it will be for us.

Spa bath is great after a long day traveling and big enough to fit 2 adults. Staff are accommodating and friendly.. Good location and easy to find. Handy to takeaways like burger king, kfc and mcdonalds, or pak n save is a 2 minute drive. Laundromat 3 minutes down the road. Room had kitchenette well equipped, beds are good and the pillows are comfortable!!! Large rooms with alot of space which I liked as a family with young kids.

Have stayed here previously and love the location as in walking distance to everything. Really love the cleanliness of the rooms and the facilities in the rooms. Will maybe try the brekky next time I stay.

The only thing was the people smoking outside at the communal table which was outside my room - had to close my window as the smell was coming in, but hey they have to smoke somewhere!

The room was set well back from the road, meaning minimal traffic noise.

As discussed with the motelier, the carparks not being allocated to each unit, made it a free for all (visitors included) meaning we had to park further and further away from our room each night. The loud voices from guests leaving at stupid o'clock was a frustrating super early wake up, but that is out of the motels control.
