Lovely hotel, the rooms are nice and comfortable. We asked a lovely lady at reception to change our room as we were at the front of the hotel, which was quite noisy. This was no problem. We got a nice quiet room at the back. The breakfast was very good, we were served by a very nice waiter (Alan)? on Saturday morning. The lady who served us on Sunday morning was a different story (we didn't get her name), no manner, no eye contact, etc. She huffed and puffed every time she passed our table! Great location. There is no car parking with the hotel, but you can park in the Clock Tower carpark across the road for €5 per day. It is very close to good bars and restaurants. There is a very good Indian next door (Peppers). Overall, we had a lovely weekend at Granville and would recommend it to friends.

This time we came for a weekend break. As usual, everything was perfect. Before arrival, detailed information from the hotel about the car park and a special discount for hotel guests, wonderful carvery lunch, à la carte breakfast, very clean amd warm, brightly lit room (which I really like), very friendly and helpful staff, great location, on Saturday evening fantastic live music played by a vocal and guitar duo. Prices for this class of hotel are very friendly. We will definitely return to Granville Hotel.

Location is absolutely brilliant. I came up with my son from Fermoy and stayed for 1 night. Had an amazing dinner. What I really liked about this hotel is staff- really friendly, smiling and helpful. The whole hotel was very clean including our room. Our room was really spacious, clean and we had a bath (I have a shower at home so it was nice to relax after a 4-5 hours travelling the bus). I had full irish breakfast with decaf cappucino- it was so delicious. I will definitely come back there and stay longer next time as it's worth it. I would like to thank all staff, especially from the restaurant for providing us a relaxing stay. This was the best hotel I had ever stay in.

We can tell you that the staff are amazing. In this day and age when the pace is so fast it is lovely to go in the door of The Granville Hotel and feel that you are important and the staff have all the time in the world just for you. At this point I would especially like to mention Fiona at reception. She was our first contact with staff and she was exceptional in how she sorted us out. We had an issue with a One4All voucher and she calmly sorted it out with the help of a male colleague who unfortunately we did not get his name. Afrer all that the bar staff, restaurant staff, housekeeping, and everyone in between were very very nice and helpful. We have to mention the kitchen crew who turned our fabulous food from breakfast to dinner. As you can guess , we were very impressed and would highly recommend this hotel .

Very little.! The hotel was perfect .We had a huge room 211 only fault was no air conditioning, but in their defence the hotel supplied a fan in the room which was a great help. Only other issue was the sea gulls ! which the hotel could do nothing about., but those birds like to "sing " early.

Gorgeous historic hotel! We stayed one night here, and loved the ambiance and the staff. The location right on the waterfront was perfect (although lots of construction going on there) for easy walking the town and right around the corner from the pedestrian mall area. Mentioning the construction, our room faced the street and we were not bothered at all by any street noise. Parking was easily available in the public lot across which the hotel validates. Our rooms were comfy and bathrooms were modern with a full tub. We did eat breakfast in the restaurant and the selection was great plus we were gifted a small package with oatmeal and whisky to take with us! The bar area was also wonderful with good typical Irish bar food like chowder, etc. The staff were also super nice in all areas from the front desk to the bar and restaurant. A bonus for accessibility was the elevator as many historic hotels in Ireland do not have them.

The hotel is lovely, beautifully maintained, and has a lot of character and elegance. The staff is wonderful and made us feel at home. The location is perfect for seeing the historic sites and the museums. The breakfast was delicious with a full menu plus buffet and the dining room is lovely.

The construction in front of the hotel on the quay and the traffic. The parking was difficult as we had to park in a lot down the street. However the hotel susidized the parking. In this old city it could not be helped though.

The home site of the first flying of the Irish national flag! Right on the waterfront. It does not get it any better than this. I found out from and locals that the restaurant is one of the best in the city. I loved the view from my room, the bath, the elevator, such a lovely and convenient location. I would highly recommend Granville historical faith and traditional stay or or Towers for modern stay.

very small TV and extremely thin walls. The first night I had someone next to me and you could hear everything through the walls. That's kind of expected with historical buildings so it was okay. The mattress was comfortable but was a little bit of a dip in the mattress. It wasn't a big deal but it was just something I noticed. everything else was perfect!

Location is great, all staff we dealt with were very pleasant. The young man that checked us in at reception was lovely, explained everything very well. Room had all necessary facilities.

I wouldn’t say we necessarily didn’t ‘like’ anything, but if I wanted to nit pick the room did have a slight musky smell, as if the windows hadn’t been opened in a while, but it was only noticeable when you first entered, after being in the room for a while it goes. The toilet handle also took a good few pushes to actually flush the toilet. But again these are minor things and wouldn’t impact my decision to come back. I will say though if you are a light sleeper perhaps request a room at the back as the noise from the front of the hotel did wake us a few times during the night, this is obviously not the hotels fault however just something to note.

Breakfast was delicious as always and the staff were always very friendly and helpful.

There was a power outage during our stay from 8pm to midnight on the second night of our stay. I had a room with my 90 year old Mother on the second floor so we were confined to our room for 4 hours. Nobody came to check to see if we were ok and aside from notices around the hotel apologizing for the inconvenience there was no mention of it from staff the next day. I realise that the whole of the City had an outage but I would have thought that your hotel would have had a generator. An acknowledgement face to face would have been appreciated and some form of gesture to compensate would have been appreciated.

We stayed for two nights and paid for the breakfasts which were well worth it - offering a wide choice from fresh and healthy to traditional. Having arrived very early we were able to leave our bags and we got a call when our room was ready (with our bags inside). Service was very attentive throughout (reception, breakfast, bar, room). Lovely, comfortable hotel with historic charm. Great location for visiting Waterford's many attractions with nearby buses for regional trips.

The cover of the temperature control in the shower was broken before we arrived but it was still usable.
