Private terrace area was superb. The pool was clean and a good size. There were plenty of loungers for the guests. The bed was large and comfy. The bathroom clean, modern and large. Breakfast was easy and tasty. The owners was super friendly, they let us book in early as I was unwell. Good parking

The uphill walk to the property was steep in 34 degrees heat. Location was approximately 20 minutes stroll to centre. We arrived on a public holiday so couldn't get anything to eat anywhere. It would've been good to know how busy the town is so we could book in advance a restaurant - our mistake!

One of the best and most enjoyable stays we have had on our France holiday. We loved our private rear terrace, where we could enjoy a wine and nibbles prior to going out for dinner. The room was very large with really nice modern decor and super modern bathroom. Little touches made a difference, like having a refrigerator in the room and wine glasses. you can make use of the kitchen area facilities, used for breakfast, in the evening if you so desire, including the microwave. Huge flat screen TV with streaming services 👏😀 The pool was very enjoyable and relaxing and pool towels were supplied. We walked into the centre of Sarlat in about 25 minutes. Be aware though there are some steep inclines on the way back.

The privacy was great in a lovely development on a hill above town, and was very handily placed for Sarlat town centre with a free car park just down the hill. We preferred to drive into town as we didn't fancy the walk back up the hill in the dark, but that was our choice. It's about a 20 minute walk into the centre from the accommodation, we estimate. There was ample parking on site. We stayed in the superior suite which had plenty of room and a nice, separate bathroom and toilet. A great breakfast with lots of choice, and we liked the fact the breakfast room was open all day for guests to use. Alexandre was a very friendly and helpful host. Unfortunately, the pool was closed until the 15th May but the weather wasn't great anyway, so not a problem.

If we had to be very picky, we would have preferred a headboard on the bed, but there was a painting in situ. We would have liked Sky News as an option as there weren't many English channels.

Well equipped room and good sized bathroom. Plenty of storage place plus mini fridge and Smart TV . Very helpful host who set up a Whats App link on arrival. Plenty of safe parking and located just up from a free car park where only a few minutes into the centre.

Only negative was having booked the Superior Suite, its location adjacent to pump room and air con units for swimming pool meant a constant humming and vibration especially intrusive overnight. Noise also apparent on private terrace. Book an alternative room.

Lovely suite with its own terrace, perfect for relaxing as the sun goes down. Quiet location in a beautiful area and about 15 minute walk into town. We walked everywhere and hired electric bikes which can be rented about a 15 minute walk away. The property is at the top of a very steep, long hill, so definitely hire a car if mobility is an issue for you. We had the pool to ourselves on the days we stayed at the property, as there are only 3 other rooms, so never overcrowded. Good selection at breakfast. Host Alex really helpful and always contactable by WhatsApp.

Some noise through the room wall. Had to buy extra loo paper, as only 2 provided. No room cleaning or bin emptying during 6 night stay.

The property is lovely, very quiet and the pool area is tranquil although the pool was not heated so we couldnt swim. Note that guests must have a car as it is just outside town.

The bedrooms are very comfortable although not luxurious. The bathroom is quite dated...our tub had a shower nozzle in it but without a curtain so that was an adjustment. The two brothers who manage it are delightful and so helpful!

Spacious and comfortable room, spotlessly clean with great facilities. The owners were very helpful with lots of suggestions, and the breakfast was excellent - the best croissants that we've had in France to-date and wonderful home-made cakes. If we returned to Sarlat we would definitely stay here again - great value for money and a lovely pool for the warmer months.

Welcoming and polite. Good size room with all mod cons. Able to use the breakfast room to prepare own evening meal. At least use microwave and crockery/cutlery. Good location just outside of town but with free parking down the hill and a short walk into town Hosts were charming and very helpful

Very good breakfast provided but some elements a bit short when, like us, you were not there early. Cheese and other things gone and not replenished.

Nice place on the edge of Sarlat. Easy access to ground floor room with a big shower. Coffee machine in the room with complimentary water plus a good continental breakfast included in the price with fresh strawberries, cereal, yoghurt, boiled eggs, ham and cheeses.

Couldn't find the owner on checkout so just had to leave as we had a tour booked

I loved the peace and quiet of Le Clos du Peintre. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was continental and really enjoyable with plenty of choice…

The property is located up a hill and just a bit too far to walk comfortably into Sarlat. I did miss not having a full length mirror in the room tho. In saying that I really enjoyed our stay there. And would definitely choose to stay again.
