Location: perfect. Secluded but a great base from which to explore the region Staff: very friendly and helpful, nothing any trouble, and two gorgeous cats included! Room: large, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, good TV, mini fridge, excellent air-conditioning, good hairdryer, nice towels, powerful shower with plentiful hot water, pleasant garden view Grounds: large, great to stroll, beautifully kept Swimming pool: Excellent Breakfast: buffet-style Restaurant: Gorgeous glass building into outside terrace, beautifully presented and nicely laid tables

Room: the adverts show light, white, pale blue decor, but our room was almost entirely dark terracotta, including the furniture which whilst in keeping with the region style, felt a little dingy. Only 4 coat hangars in the small wardrobe and nowhere else to hang anything other than the towel rail which wasn't great for a 5 day stay. No complimentary coffee or tea making facilities in the room which was a surprise for this quality establishment. No light above the private shower area so you showered in darkness. And only thin voile curtains at the windows so unless you close the outside window shutters, you never got blackout at night.

The food was fantastic. The grounds were very well kept, the pool and pool area was super. The staff generally were very helpful and friendly, especially the restaurant staff and a special shout out to Roberto who went above and beyond for us. Bikes and Vespas being available to hire were a nice addition. I would return in a heartbeat and the 'don't likes' certainly don't outweigh the lovely time we had staying here. :)

More frequent service around the pool - drinks etc or a method of ordering perhaps by message to the bar staff if anyone would like anything. The bed was VERY firm. Uncomfortably firm. Without a car taxi's are vey expensive as they come from Lucca each time and charge for coming that far even if you only need a taxi for a local restaurant journey. If the property had a local driver who could help for shorter trips like that it would be such a bonus.

Loved the location, set in the beautiful tuscan countryside - breathtaking views. Food was lovely, staff were very helpful. A 15 min drive in a taxi to lucca - also a stunning place, I would recommend the walking tour to get a real feel of the history and culture.

The main thing would be that we got charged for bacon and eggs on toast, 12 euros - however, the breakfast buffet that we had already paid for actually included bacon , eggs and toast which we wasn't aware of. It would have been good for them to say rather than charge us. Pool could do with a little clean inside, although didn't stop us going for a dip.

The location is fantastic. It is a beautiful old hunting lodge with lots of character and a lovely swimming pool. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The staff are so friendly and helpful.

This is our second stay we were in the main house, I found this noisy, with doors slamming and was woken one morning by the next rooms alarm clock. The first time we stayed we were on the first floor in the annex attached. We would like to stay again next year and I will be asking what rooms are available there again. It seemed much quieter and the room bigger.

The gardens are beautiful and pool area is well maintained and lots of shade available. Pool service and cocktails are brilliant. Nice outdoor dining area. Excellent restaurant.

Description of room when booking. Garden room however our Garden room was directly overlooking gravel path leading to swimming pool so no view. Also the path light was shining directly into the room. This was the Deluxe triple room for 2 persons.Better description on booking.com would be welcome of ground floor rooms.

The features of this former hunting lodge include a gracious glass-enclosed dining/breakfast room was delightful looking out over grounds in the morning, and an elegant place to dine at night. Service from reception to dining was superb, as was the food. The rooms with their rustic dramatic ceilings and comfy beds led to pleasant rest and beautiful views. A retreat from noisy streets and crowds.

The garden, pool and rooms are lovely. The service is wonderful, Roberto is always kind and considerate from morning to night, everyone was so nice to our 3 year old daughter. The food was delicious, and location so peaceful and yet so close to Lucca.

Nothing, it was truly lovely, pity we couldn't stay an extra night because it was fully booked.

Beautiful location, building, lovely rooms and garden. Incredibly peaceful area and great to visit neighbouring towns like Pisa, Lucca and Florence. Wonderful staff as well, all very helpful and there was always someone there to help. A real find and great way to experience Tuscany. Surrounded by fantastic countryside .

The food at breakfast was a bit of a let down. Whilst they did ensure we had our gluten free bread option, there was hardly any hot food available for breakfast. The eggs were mostly overcooked or they had run out even when there were lots of people at breakfast. Decaffeinated coffee was instant and the tea was lukewarm. It’s a shame as the breakfast is an important part of the stay and the view outside was lovely. We had dinner one night at the hotel and it was nice.
