Overall, everything was fine. Comfortable, good breakfast, quiet, decent sized room. But there were a few STRANGE things which could have been better. See below.

SOME SMALL BUT IMPORTANT DETAILS. We were 2 people, but when we arrived there was only 1 cup and one tea bag. Also, only 1 chair in the room. The fridge was on, but empty - so no mini-bar, and that stayed as it was for the whole three days. No instructions as to how to use the safe. No information about the hotel or the area in the room. Cleanliness - generally OK, BUT - the rubbish bin in the bathroom was never emptied during our stay; the WC was not cleaned daily, nor the bathroom surfaces, nor the corners of the bathroom floor. It would be an improvement to have a couple of pegs for towels in the bathroom, not just rely on the radiator/heater. On the balcony was a cigarette butt in an ashtray - not ours, we don't smoke, so left by someone before us...

Room 225 was spacious clean and quiet

Nice clean value for money room with comfy bed and nice ensuite. Location excellent being close to main promenade and short walk from train station.

Walls are thin so not a lot of soundproofing between rooms but as we were out in beautiful Stresa most of the time this was not a major issue. As with a lot of French and Italian Hotels we have stayed at no Coffee / Tea making facilities or Kettle (we had a Travel Kettle so not an issue).

Location was absolutely perfect. 4min walk to train station. 2min walk to waterfront. 10mins to Ferry. Great restaurants and bars around. We moved from our original room in the older part of hotel as the room was just too small and not enough space for us. Staff very accommodating and moved us to New part of hotel which was fabulous.

Old part of hotel is very old. Rooms are small so unfortunately little space for cases and no drawers. Very clean but all original. No coffee machine or kettle in room. Would be nice to have larger bottles of shampoo and body lotion.

the room was nice and comfortable. The breakfast was first rate. The staff were very helpful.

I had to ask every time for the toiletries in the bath room and the items on the tea tray to be replaced as they were used other wise they never were.

The Boston Hotel in Stresa, beside Lake Maggiore, is a bit contradictory. As you approach it, the exterior looks a bit dated so first impressions may not be too positive. However, inside that exterior is a relatively modern hotel. The hotel is in two parts, with the older part at the front and a large, newer extension at the rear, which includes a large dining area. We were in a room in the rear section. Whilst we are unable to comment on the rooms in the older section, one would guess that they were renovated when the new extension was built. The rooms in the new extension are modern, with a reasonably spacious bedroom, a comfortable bed, large wardrobe, small desk, fridge and safe. Whilst the bathroom was a bit small, it was very functional, with a large shower, hot water and quality towels. One of the best features of the room was the large patio, with table and chairs for that evening glass of wine. Whilst the view is not overly aesthetic, the patio augments the room size, providing a less closed-in environment. The patios in the older section atr about half the size and overlook the road so significantly less appealing. The dining area is large and modern; with lots of windows to provide an airy atmosphere. On a scale of 1-10, the provided breakfast probably rates a score of 6, as the hot breakfast options are limited, cold and not overly appetising. It also has the slowest toaster in the Northern hemisphere! The location is excellent, just a few hundred metres from the lake edge, ferries and town centre. The local rail and bus station are also within easy walking distance. The hotel tariff was good according to my tour director (my wife), so nothing much to complain about, but the breakfast could be easily improved. RECOMMENDED.

Mainly the hot breakfast which was cold and not very appetising.

Location was great, the decor, the reception staff were helpful. The property is as described.

I was very pleased with the hotel, the location was perfect, I usually stay nearer the town but I found this better as it gave me that extra walk...every facility was 10/10

The room I was in, which was room 401 was absolutely lovely with exception to one thjng, which unfortunately was most bothersome. Approximately 10pm each night a drone noise appeared which went on through the night...absolutely terrible..I've no idea what it was..I was next to the lift..but it wasn't that...I would be interested to know what it was..but it did make it hard for me to get a decent sleep the 4 nights I was there

Location was good. Breakfast was good, plenty to choose from. Staff friendly, ladies who do breakfast are brilliant! Hotel had been very accommodating when we had to cancel the first time because we were ill and agreed we could move the date which we greatly appreciated.

We booked a superior attic room which was a little disappointing, we were in room 406, no drawers to put anything away, limited wardrobe space, shower so small we could hardly turn around in it and we are average build people. We had 2 balconies one had 2 chairs but so small it was difficult to sit outside together which was a shame as we did have a lake view, we could of had a balcony each but didn’t go away to sit apart. Didn’t complain as I was told the hotel was fully booked.

Great location in STRESA center, 5 minutes walk from the train station and a few minutes more to the ferry terminal. Supermarket CONAD nearby, a few minutes walk. Very clean, very nice staff. I had the single room but it is more spacious than in most places, even has a small closet with many hangers. Very comfortable bed and pillows. The free breakfast has more variety than usual: muesli, cereals, bread, jam, cheese, ham, juices, yogurt, hard-boiled and scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit mix.
