Second time I have stayed here. Property is clean and the right price point for a simple, functional hotel. If one is looking for a cambridge experience vibe, probably not the right hotel but if you’re looking for a clean, functional hotel at a decent price point in central cambridge this is good. Staff are helpful and friendly and whilst both the property and the general vibe feels a little old fashioned, it works perfectly at the price point. I don’t think it’s trying to complete with the surrounding far more expensive hotels and nor should it. I come up for uni visits and don’t want to spend lots of money on a room. I just need a clean, functional room in central cambridge with helpful staff and the Lensfield ticks the boxes.

My experience was, in general, really great, and I will definitely return to this hotel. The hotel is in a perfect location to experience the center of Cambridge, near the center of Cambridge (10 minutes by walk). I was traveling for work and thanks to the location of the hotel I was able to easily walk around Cambridge during my breaks. Around the hotel, there are many restaurants (2 minutes by walk), bars, and supermarkets(6 minutes by walk). The hotel staff was always very helpful and friendly and responded to all my needs. The breakfast is good, and the rooms are really clean and comfortable.

The only thing that I didn't like about the room was that it was a bit cold.

the mansion is ancient but it's very well kept and loved. Floorboards are all carpeted and no noises from them, even on the stairs, handrails are surprisigly stable, common areas quite clean. room was tiny but clean and tidy, with enough surfaces to be comfortable and practical. bathroom is small but efficient (mind the step to access it) the open window is enough to cool down the temperature in an august sunny day just a mere 10 minute brisk walk from king's parade, even less to the banks

there's a particular noise in the background, not quite annoying but dull and ever present, that pop up to attention during the night

Room was comfortable, adequately sized and quiet. Free parking is a big plus (if you are lucky enough to get one of the five first come, first served spots in front). The staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. The location is also a big plus if you don't mind just a bit of walking--5 minutes to the Fitzwilliam Museum, 10 minutes to The Mill (a good riverside pub) and 20 minutes to King's College.

We passed on the continental breakfast which would have been convenient but not really a bargain at 12 pounds pp.

Great location, especially if you’re going to the Judge Business School. It was clean and had everything I needed. The breakfast was good too, for the price. I think I’ll come back next time I’m in Cambridge.

The staff could be a bit more polite. I’m a breastfeeding mother and I asked in advance via the chat whether I could store pumped breast milk in their facilities. They said that it was ok as they had enough storage space in the freezers (which they did). However, once I was there, their reaction to this request made me feel like I was asking them to hide a dead body. After a couple of days they were more polite about it. I’m happy that it went well at the end.

Great hotel near the center of the city and yet in non noisy zone Reception staff was veey good at check in. Helped me for fast check in and even helped to take luggage to room as there is no elevator , though the flight of stairs are not many for 1st floor. The Room was a delight with huge Living room with sofa and sofa seats, big kitchen and everything provided what you need . Bedroom was big enough and had enough cupboards space . Bathroom too was good size. Cleaning team of the hotel did good job every day . check out was very smooth and quick . I would highly recommend this hotel and i will surely come and stay here next time.

Staff assisted with luggage and were helpful when we arrived back late with a baby. Room was a good size and comfortable bed. Walking distance to botanical gardens and the river.

Would have been good to have a jug or bottles of water in fridge as was very hot day. Lots of tight stairs to navigate if you have a lot of luggage. When booking, booking.com suggested we need needed 2 rooms as we entered travelling with a baby under one year old. However we called to confirm and then booked just for the adults as our 4month old sleeps in our room! Parking is challanging however is a good paid for parking near by which is free overnight so stays a reasonable price. Bedside light bulb blew as we turned it on and other light bulb has already blown so no working bedside lights.

Great location, very easy to walk into Cambridge city centre from the hotel.. Rooms were very clean. Staff were absolutely lovely - very helpful and welcoming. They kindly stored our luggage after check out and leant my friend a phone charger which was much appreciated. We went on a brilliant walking tour and a group punting trip booked via Scudamores and had a delicious meal at La Mimosa. Highly recommend them all.

Parking is limited (they make this clear in the hotel description), there is a multi-storey car park about 5-7 mins walk away. I was charged just under £25 for 24 hours which was more expensive than I expected but not the hotel's fault. My mattress and pillows weren't great and my room was very warm. It wasn't a hot day, I think it was just the location of my room in the basement that made it warm. I couldn't leave the windows open due to road noise. and couldn't get the aircon to work properly. My friends said their rooms were a perfect temperature.

We were booked into one of the apartments, which had everything needed for our 2 night stay in Cambridge - fully equipped kitchen, sitting and dining area and air-con in the bedroom. The hotel is very close to the city centre and we were lucky enough to be able to get one of the hotel's parking spaces. The rooms were spotless and staff was very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely book again next time we're in Cambridge!

The Hotel is in a great location between the station, city centre and colleges. The staff were super friendly and the whole hotel was very clean. The optional breakfast was unspectacular, but worth the price (I paid £7 in 2024). The room was clean and generally comfortable. Perfect for short/business stays.

The hotel is in an historic house, which meant that everything is small and creaky. In the morning, you hear the floorboards creaking as other travellers descend for breakfast. My room was also designed for someone smaller than 6ft - there was barely enough space between bath and toilet (perhaps just a shower would be sufficient), and I am surprised I did not bump my head using the staircase down to reception.
