I stayed in a motel unit (above the bar and grill, 1 night) on my way down to Homer, and at one of the stand-alone cabins a week later on my way back. The motel room was very basic, small, but comfortable. The value for the price was superb. The cabin was my default on the way back as the motel rooms were sold out by the time I booked. It was also comfortable, but not the value that the motel room was. It did have a full kitchen, which was helpful although the fridge/freezer was a bit run down. I didnt have time to take advantage, but the cheeseburgers at the bar/grill smelled and looked great, they are discounted on Wednesdays or Thursdays.

See above comments, you're basically staying in a small basic room above a bar and grill. Very conveneient for starting or ending the drive to or from Anchorage to Homer. The only way to the motel rooms is a fairly steep staircase, if you have mobility issues it may not be a good option.

The owner, Matt, was incredibly accommodating and did everything in his power to ensure my stay was the best it could be after airline headaches. Very cool little spot along the coast that's roughly midway between Girdwood and Anchorage. Definitely old school accommodations that are a labor of love for the owner and staff. Would definitely stay here again if ever in the area. Awesome staff, pool table, great kitchen, and cozy rooms.

Facilities are perhaps a little old and tired, but it was cozy and clean on a cold, snowy night and a very friendly place on top of it all.

Friendly reception. Room had all the furnishings needed and a very comfortable bed and pillows. They provided toiletries. And I really appreciated the mini fridge and microwave oven. They also provided a coffee maker. I would definitely stay there again, most of all considering the high prices in Anchorage and good location of this accommodation.

We stayed in the cabin which was very comfortable and cozy. Cabin is spacious, clean and very well equiped. Very good value option comparing to other options in the area. Convenient location to drive to Alyeska or Portage Lake and Glacier.

Not that you need it very much in such a beautiful surroundings but be aware that WiFi is not working in the cabins.

The place was just on the road, very easy to find. The staff was very nice and you have a pub just under the rooms. It's a very nice burger. Great room and facilities 👌

Can be a bit loud because of the road. The rooms are on the second floor and it's important if you have heavy stuff. The wifi is so bad!!

Nice clean room, friendly staff, good food. I liked the peace & quiet. My companion pup was able to stay in room with me. I would definitely recommend to others, if making trip to Anchorage but want to stay in a more relaxed, played back environment.

I have no complaints

Stay was really nice Great saloon downstairs included, staff is an angel.

Barely any sound dampening between rooms, heard the neighbors but not the saloon. Lock on room door latched with the doorframe instead of with the missing dedicated metall piece.

Perfect motel for an affordable price at the beginning of the Kenai Peninsula. Clean, quiet and safe. The Saloon underneath is authentic and deserves a visit !

From the entry price room you can hear the music from the saloon, but it did not bother me .

Staff os great. Friendly with smiles. Room was clean and bed very comfortable. Simple but adequate room. Microwave and small fridge. Shower great and adequate towels. Food was great, I had burger, fries and beer.

Can't think of a thing.

Convenient, comfortable, cheaper than anything in downtown Anchorage. Plenty of parking and a bar downstairs, a restaurant 500 feet up the road. The room was fine, good internet, surprisingly quiet considering the highway is fairly close.

The only issue would be you need a car.
