Great place for a short stay or single traveller, the room is very small but clear and the external bathroom was spotlessly clean. But what exceeded all expectations was the breakfast, it is on par if not better than some 4* hotels and the staff was . Cheese, juices and pastries like croissants were of very high quality with good variety as well and the staff was always there and refilling the baskets. You can also grab a croissant and coffee in to-go cup and sit outside on a bench in the sun enjoying morning Leuven as people hurry along on their business and catch the nice vibes. Beautiful location also and quite clear even though it is so close to the train station. Same people run the bar downstairs so it is actually quite nice and popular with locals.

I found the bathroom was slightly clogged after a long shower so that can be improved. Tea making facilities would be nice.

Very bang for your buck accomodation. It has this bit banged up atmosphere, without compromising on quality. Across from the train station so easily accessible, lots of parking spaces nearby also, lots of restaurants and bars nearby. I was there on Friday and it wasn't too noisy at all. So next time for a conference, this will be my spot to go.

Well, the room was a bit smelly at first, but nothing that couldn't be fixed with leaving the window open for an hour or two. Maybe the cleaning staff could spray the rooms with a scent, as that would make the entering of the room so much more inviting.

Rooms were clean but basic. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was clean. Breakfast was really nice, fresh croissants and pastries, bacon, sausages, egg, cereals, fruit and yogurt. Location was the best part as the train and bus station were across the road. Bars and restaurants too at hand.

Room very basic just had beds in it. No bedside cabinets or mirror (mirror just in bathroom). Although this didn't annoy us as we were out all day, we just needed a bed to put our heads down at night.

Location is excellent - situated in the main square opposite Leuven train station Breakfast was great - excellent selection of hot and cold food Beds were comfortable and the room was clean Staff were very friendly and helpful Reception stored our luggage before check in and after check out The hotel had an elevator The hotel restaurant served excellent food - would highly recommend

The room was a bit dated and basic There was no hairdryer or mirror in the bedroom There was no toilet paper in the bathroom but this was sorted straight away by a member of staff

I had a corner room on the top (4th floor), with excrllent view to the street and square. Really amazing view. Room is small, just for bed (that is pretty big, literally square!) and small table. Bathroom very basic and a bit outdated. But everything is very atmospheric, reminds Ameli movie. Breakfast is ok, nothing special but sufficient. Elevator is old-fationed (with doors at floors that you open manually) but well maintained. Stairs covered with marble and carpet. Excellent place to stay day or two and great place to make some photos!

Bathtoom a bit outdated and need minor repair, especially, bath curtain.

Great location - just across the train station and 10-15 minutes from the Town Hall. Great breakfast. Comfortable bed. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. Value for money.

It can get a bit noisy at times because of the close proximity of the train station.

The location was perfect for exploring Leuven on foot and taking a train to visit Brussels. I really enjoyed the breakfast, and I felt the price for the stay was reasonable. I’d happily stay at this hotel again!

The shower room was a bit outdated, but the water pressure was excellent.

Fantastic location at the trainstation. The room was old but comfortable with a beautiful view of the trainstation. Very nice breakfast buffet with plenty of choices of food. Easy to walk to the Oude Markt.

The bed was very narrow. It was cold in the bathroom.

La Royale occupies a handsome building straight opposite the station. The interior retains many original features, but has all the modern facilities you'd expect. All the staff (especially Steffi) were lovely and helped us to store our bags safely a few hours before check-in, allowing us to explore the wonderful city unencumbered by luggage. The range and quality of breakfast items was exceptional and set us up perfectly for the day!

Location is perfect, across the square to the train station and bus station. Staff are very friendly and helpful, in particular the gentleman in reception who was exceptional. Also, the staff in the bar were excellent and looked after us so well. Comfy beds, good food, great location, excellent friendly staff, a lovely place to stay.
