The hotel was fantastic. The grounds are amazing and we saw lots of wildlife including on the night walk. There is a lovely swimming pool which isn't huge but as it's a small hotel it was never full of people. The food in the restaurant was great, the included breakfast included a cooked breakfast of choice from the menu and a buffet selection in yogurts, fruit and pastries. There's also a self service coffee machine which is available throughout the day. The room was clean and comfortable. The balcony overlooked an area of trees which was great for birdwatching and seeing other animals.

The only downside was the size of the room, it was smaller than I expected but fine for our 3 night stay.

The hotel is amazing. The breakfast was very good with nice choices. Our room was large and clean. We would have liked to have had more storage but what they provided sufficed. The only thing I did not care for was the shower in the bathroom is actually not fully enclosed. It has a portion at the top that is exposed to the outdoors. The allowed leaves to fall into the shower and bugs could fly in. For that reason, we kept the door to the bathroom shut unless we were in there. The people were amazing. Kevin helped me plan our stay and answered all my questions via cell or What's app. The waitstaff in the restaurant were delightful. They remembered our names as we entered the place. Melanny, Chichi and Jay were just outstanding. Lucy and Kevin are at the front desk. Both were very helpful. It is a little far from the town. And there is no side walk on a narrow road leading to the main road. So walking really is not an option. The falls are right up the road from the hotel. Be prepared, the walk is up a steep hill. We did not go down to the falls are there are over 500 steps down and back up. Definitely, do not miss the hot springs. We went to Ecotermales Fortuna. It was very nice and inviting. We will go back to CR sometime and if we go to Fortuna, I would definitely stay here again!

Really nothing......

There were so many things that made this an amazing stay. First of all, the staff and food servers were all very nice and caring. Shout out especially to Kevin, Hansel, Lucy, Joshua, Rey and the entire staff. Everyone was very welcoming and extremely sweet. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated in modern decor. The restaurant had amazing food quality, and a spectacular atmosphere! We also did a night walk to see frogs, and enjoyed swimming in the pool. The rooms were also so nice and beautiful, and it was great to be in the tropical rainforest! We definitely don’t have any regrets about staying here and would love to come back again someday. Thank you, Ti-fakara! Our stay is a memory we won’t forget!

From the moment you step inside the entrance you know you’ve found a little slice of paradise. The jungle setting is powerful. It is lush and teeming with birds and other wildlife. But add to that the intimacy of the pool and dining area and private bungalows and it is more than just a walk in the jungle. The staff are outstanding in every way. Special shout out to Stephen,Charlie and, most of all, ChiChi, for their warmth and accommodating hospitality. When I asked for a drink they’d never heard of, ChiChi figured it out in record time and produced the best French 75 as we sat by the pool after a long day hiking. I can’t say enough about this place. The included breakfasts are outstanding and the evening entertainment was refreshing. For a change of pace we’d grab a quick Iber into town and try some local cuisine - so easy. This has been worth every penny. We will be back! PS. Don’t forget to grab a fresh coconut at breakfast!

Not much really. All around wonderful.

Incredibly beautiful! The pictures don’t do this place justice and everything is much more beautiful. We spent four nights here and it was so wonderful. Our highlight was the free night walk to see frogs and other wildlife. And it did not disappoint - right in and around the hotel. This is a definite recommendation! The staff were so incredibly nice and helpful! Kevin, Camila and Randall from the front desk were so very kind and made us feel welcome. The waiting staff were also very forthcoming, especially Erick and Jay. Tifakara has a great view of the volcano and is very close (walking distance) to the famous and beautiful La Fortuna Waterfalls. We would stay here time and time again, this is definitely one of the best places we ever stayed at and a great location in La Fortuna.

Boutique hotel right next to La Fortuna Falls, about a ten minute drive from the city center. Excellent restaurant, amazing and welcoming staff. Very good restaurant, they closed all the attractions for us the day we arrived, we also did their night tour and it was amazing. In the morning you can see the Arenal Volcano from the pool

The room was smaller than I expected, at night it seems they turn off the air conditioner, outdoor shower for those who are bothered by insects and animals, this is not the place :)

It was stunning. A really beautiful room, very modern & high tech. We had a jacuzzi as well which was brilliant. Surrounding gardens were lovely & I particularly loved the night walk with Joseph around the frog pond areas. The restaurant was good if a little high priced but tricky to eat elsewhere without a car. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The tuna tartare was absolutely delicious.

It rained very heavily & frequently while we were there so it was difficult to get anything dry in the room. It really needed a heated towel rail. Towels stayed damp - so needed to be changed everyday and it was hard to get our clothes dry if we had been out in the rain. This meant we left with damp clothes in our cases. In better weather I guess this would not be an issue. This was the most expensive hotel of our trip so it was a little disappointing. I felt the restaurant menu could have varied a bitt and it would have been good to have granola offered for breakfast rather than the children’s cereals. The steaks weren’t the best I have had - I found them quite tough.

Lovely property with rooms interspersed in the forest. A great view of Arenal from the restaurant and lots of birds in the tree just outside the restaurant. The waiters and staff were excellent and very helpful and friendly. It was a nice touch to have a large umbrella by every room for use in the rain. There was also a fun night walk included, lead by Kevin, where we got to see, besides the many frogs, a very venomous fer de lance. Kevin steered us away and called a colleague who managed to capture and cart him away. We were safe and it made for a fun photo and story. The restaurant was quite attractive and breakfast very good. We visited the Observatory nearby and the Arenal National Park for great walks. Lots of other things to visit around that we didn’t have time to get to.

The rooms are a bit tight, but comfortable. I would suggest they dispense with the scented toilet paper. For a place concerned about the ecosystem it doesn’t make sense to use scented toilet paper that can be very irritating to the skin (I used plain Kleenex) and adds chemicals to the septic system.

The Gardens and birdlife were amazing. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was so delicious, and the complimentary breakfast was exceptional. The jacuzzis were beautifully relaxing, and pool was sparkling clean. The distance from town is several km and a steep walk up hill on your way back, so we hired a scooter to get around, which was good. The bed was comfortable. Amazing open air shower, and a lovely deck off of the room which looked out into the rainforest and gardens.

If you didn't want to have to hire a car or scooter or rely on taxis/uber, it is a fair distance from town, but that is also part of the attraction as it is nice and quiet. It's an easy walk to the Fortuna Waterfall from the hotel.

Lovely property set near La Fortuna but just far enough removed to feel like you're out in nature. The staff is so warm and welcoming. Kevin was so helpful and the night walk tour guide included with the hotel stay. He led us around the property shortly after dark and we found the most beautiful frogs. So great to have this right on the hotel grounds. After that we enjoyed a tasty dinner in the hotel restaurant. We didn't get to use the pool or hot tubs but it looked fantastic. The included breakfast was also very good, with made to order entrees.

If you're bed feels uncomfortable check the slats under the mattress, ours were moved creating un uncomfortable gap
