I really felt at home as soon as I met the owners, who welcomed me and gifted me a 'welcome dinner.' The hotel reception is in the Chinese restaurant as you come in, and it is a beautiful setting with amazing food! I came to this location because it is close to St. Jakob event center in Basel, Switzerland. The bus stop is a 5-minute walk, and the train station is a 10-minute walk. There are several service businesses: salons, restaurants, and grocery stores. Even though my workshop absorbed my entire day, the owners were so kind to offer me a late-night snack from the restaurant with sparkling water for my room. I slept soundly in the most comfortable bed ever! The affordability, cleanliness, location, and the wonderful owners & staff made my stay a restful experience.

Nice large balcony at the rear of the room, and very nice and accommodating host let us store our bikes inside the building.

A Kettle and fridge would have been nice to have.

Great location, friendly staff, clean

This is a lovely little hotel in a great location. Very basic and I was kinda dreading staying here after paying and then reading all the reviews. However for what I needed was a comfortable bed from a long day out and a nice warm shower it was perfect. The staff was really lovely, English is not spoken by everyone but it's very easy to understand. Free travel pads are provided for the bus and a lovely lady gave me some gorgeous Chinese food the night before I left. The bathrooms had towels and shower gel was left there from the previous person which came in very handy. There are about 10 stops on the bus to Basel and some lovely walking areas with beautiful views about 1km away. I definitely will be back again.

The bed was hard as a board, the room door defective, the furnishings minimal. Check-in and check-out at the Chinese restaurant only possible during opening hours, 11 am - 10 pm.

Cold room , the owner did not heat the room and the wall was moldy, with a very poor view. is NOT RECOMMENDED in winter time!!!!
