We had a great overnight stay and will definitely stay again as this place far exceeded our expectations. The executive suites were clean, spacious, airy and comfortable and the beds are so soft and inviting. We loved the pool and also discovered the spa pool which was a bonus. Each room had good tea/coffee facilities and lots of towels, which was great for the swimmers. The communal kitchen was well stocked and there was lots of handy recycling bins around the complex. Plenty of parking too. Oh, and the staff are friendly and helpful, they also made checking in such a seamless process. It's a great place to stay, I highly recommend.

Very good price. The shared kitchen was always clean and had plenty of utensils etc. shower warm, good pressure. Spa clean and warm. Really friendly staff. Loved John the cat, he came and hung out with us, plenty of parking. Comfy bed. Cafe at the end of the driveway with great coffee. Location absolutely great. Quick walk to supermarket and town. Great internet, worked remotely for two days of my stay and the internet couldn’t fault the connection.

The room smelled a little musty. I got locked in the toilets twice, once a handle came off in my hand, two other times the lock couldn’t be unlocked. The bathrooms are tired but for the price we paid really can’t complain.

Great place to stay. Big recommendation if you go to the area. Very kind stuff good location and comfortable bed in a spacious room, a place to rest. And it comes with a beautiful garden view to stay. The cat was really cute and friendly but in the end he gave me some cat attitude to leave my hand a bit of a scar which I'm used to since I've had cats, but just in case be careful not too much padding even if he asked.:)

The floor felt humid - moist. Would appreciate it more if it was a bit more well kept. Bowls had bugs- can manage but then would have been nicer if we had some cleaning items so I could handle them and use them.

the bed was soo comfortable!! Loved our room it had its own private balcony we had the end cabin so we had a whole empty side with parking right outside our room! amazing location we checked in late and checked out when no one was in office so we didn’t meet any of them but we seen one house keeper that was super friendly, good spa ok pool

Our pillows were not the one and we had to take the fan cover off as it made a noise, the pool area good have a upgrade but everything else was good!

Excellent location nestled away from the noise of the main road yet easy walking distance to what the town has to offer. Private 2 bedroom cottage with large deck to enjoy away from the rest of the motel. Lots of little extra touches to make you feel welcome are provided. Great value for money and would stay there again. Best part was the resident cat Jon who visited us frequently during our stay.

Fab location close to centre but quiet and peaceful.Comfy beds.Bright lighting.Gas stove.

Multi board did not have individual on off switches. We had to be careful of avoiding'soft' spots in the floor! Extension connections in the living area were very visible. Overseas visitors may be not impressed.

Whirlpool, nice room, free coffee with real milk, beautiful garden, close to super Market, very good location for Te Araroa walkers! Good advice about replacing gear, laundry etc.

For the first night, I was in a room without bathroom. There is only one toilet and one shower to share between all economy rooms. It wasn't a problem, but had to wait for the shower, when coming from the trail (Te Araroa).

Staff were very friendly and helpful. This was our second time at Woodlands. The peace and quiet amazing. Short walk to town and the Stone Store. The only thing is you need to go into town to do your own laundry, which is best to go in early as town can get pretty hectic.

There is nothing to not like.

Very comfortable and spacious for the cost. The staff were lovely, and the heater was left on for me which was much needed. Being in the middle of winter, I didn't even feel the need to use an electric blanket. Also the motel cat, Jon, was a pleasant surprise.

If I had to pick something, perhaps the lack of a sink in the kitchen area, or the lack of towels to wipe up the inevitable water spillage when making tea.

The room was clean and dirty towels were replaced with clean ones after one days use. Bed was super comfortable. Good value. Cupboards were well organised with utensils. Staff were great.

The room had a great outlook onto trees but this did give the room a shaded damp smell. Needed to close windows to keep mosquitos out at night.
