Rooms were well appointed and clean. Hotel is on the edge of the New Forest and was lovely to walk through the back of the property into the forest and its many different paths We didn't have dinner or breakfast at the property however the areas that these were located in had a lovely set up. Great car parking in front of the property.

On entering the property we did think that the person sitting in the lounge area was a guest and was surprised to find out that in fact they were on the maintenance team this didn't feel right, completely appreciate that communication needs to happen between colleagues, just think that this would be better placed behind the front desk.

The setting for Woodlands Lodge Hotel is just beautiful. Quiet and with gate access direct into the forest, it was perfect. The hotel had a very relaxed vibe and the staff were excellent. We didn't expect things like biscuits to be replaced and the room to be made up, as we were only there for 2 nights. So this was a really pleasant surprise. We had lunch in the garden when we arrived (which was excellent) and we had dinner the first evening too - again, this was delicious. We didn't have breakfast as we were out and about walking, but the menu looked really good.

The room was really nice and overlooked the gardens, however we were aware of noise from other rooms, as well as the music playing from the speakers into the garden. I guess if you were in the bar/lounge area (which we were and it wasn't as though it was overly loud, however noise travels and, with the window open, you could hear the music quite loudly. What sounded like a washing machine on our second night (possibly a shower but it went on for ages!), as well as constant coughing from another room ... but you can't pick your neighbours in a hotel can you!

Room was lovely, albeit a little small for the description of 'deluxe room'. Bathroom was nice and clean, great shower, beds were lovely and comfortable. We slept incredibly well, although we needed two fans on all night as it was stifling. No air conditioning. Shame there's no fridge in the room as it was so incredibly warm, was difficult to keep drinks cold. Beautiful location, lovely view over the garden and forest out the back. Staff were lovely and incredibly helpful. The bar area is a great place to have a couple of drinks in the evening. Garden area with exists straight out into the forest is wonderful.

Food portions were criminally small! I was part of an 12-person bridal party in total and each of us were shocked by how small the portions were. Especially for the amount the meals cost there, you would expect to at least feel a little satisfied after eating, instead, we were straight out to try and find some more food! There's plenty of beautiful pubs nearby that will feed you for much better value for money. I would perhaps change the description of room 11, it definitely wasn't "deluxe", the room was incredibly room for how much we paid.

A beautiful old hotel in an idyllic setting. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was gorgeous, beautifully decorated and very spacious with double aspect windows. We didn’t have breakfast but did enjoy a delicious evening meal on one night.

Being an old building the soundproofing is not too good and we could hear every sound from the room above us. The bathroom was served by a water pump which was very noisy but was needed to ensure good enough water pressure. We were very conscious of the noise we made especially early in the mornings or using the bathroom at night.

Beautiful woodland location. Full of country house character. Friendly helpful staff.

The double bed in room number 1 was very hard. Lovely setting, however at 10:30 pm as we were about to go to sleep I thought I heard a duck! Yes, a duck. I was right and I spent the whole night listening to what seemed like a large number of ducks restlessly quacking. At Dawn I managed to get some proper sleep as the ducks then stopped their incessant quacking at this point. I discovered after looking out of the window in daylight that the neighbours indeed had many, many ducks. Quiet by day, very noisy by night!

Great, quiet location with large car park. Ability to park out of view of the road which was great as we wanted to park our motorcycles in an out of view position. Friendly, attentive staff, good communication and helped us with late check in if it was needed. Excellent breakfast for £15 each extra with a great continental selection as well as some great options for a cooked breakfast. Only real downside was room was quite cold with thin duvet and no way to change room temperature, which resulted in poor sleep. Radiator didn’t come on in the room until after we got up and no thermostat thing to alter temperature on radiator in main room, only in bathroom. This was the ‘budget’ room so maybe to be expected.

On friday 14th February 2025, Valentines day...When we arrived at the hotel we were shown to room 10 by a lovely young lady. When we entered the room which had a lovely four poster bed, we noticed that the towels had been shaped into two swans which were holding a single red rose between their beaks. There were more red petals scattered on the bed along with a delicious little box of chocolates which were wrapped in a piece of red chiffon. Even the end of the toilet paper was shapped into a heart. This was a really lovely thoughful touch to our stay here. All the staff were very friendly.

Everything was really good, nothing negative to say.

Lovely, friendly and “homely but smart“ hotel in a great location in The New Forest. I was very happy with the booking process, the communication before our stay, and the warm welcome upon arrival. The weather was bitterly cold (February) but the room was gorgeously warm and just what I had hoped for when booking, but with the lovely bonus of having a very spacious ensuite shower room. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept very well. Dinner was absolutely delicious (although brunch the following day was disappointing). However, our overall impression was excellent and I can highly recommend the Woodlands Lodge Hotel.

The staff made it for us. Alot of work still needs doing, inside and out. Food was very good, thankyou chef. Would visit again.once again things are generally overlooked if the staff make you welcome and they did that!!

Looking outside our window all roof areas are in need of a good clean, guttering cleared etc. Although winter a good clean up close to the hotel. There was some lighting outside but could do with extra once tided up to add to ambiance. Wanted to do it all myself to compliment the eating/wedding/bar area. We were still very happy and enjoyed our stay

Comfy bed and very big and clean room. Helpful receptionist. The location is excellent - you have an option to walk from the back of the hotel into the New Forest or just around the corner is the woodlands road path. Lovely atmosphere overall.

The windows arn't double glazed so there was a draft in the night. Could do with maintenance in that area I think to up the experience. Also, the walls are extremely thin so I could hear the neighbour snoring which made it rather impossible to sleep. I get that its an older building but it would be great to have these things improved for extra peace.
