Room was very good. The air conditioning was a boon in the weather that we had. A good older style in a modern building. The breakfast was very good!

There was a light switch at the door that didn’t seem to be connected to anything as were 2 switches by the bed. You had to go to the door to get to the only switch that was connected to the main ceiling lights. The room was superficially very clean, but corners and behind the door in the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned for some time.

Breakfast was excellent think it's probably best I've eaten in hotels. Location was okay although next to a busy road we didn't hear much noise from traffic. Buildings were beautiful and the thatched roofs were magnificent really good job.

Evening meal was poor for price we didn't complain but felt disappointed by it. Burger was very tough to eat and steak pie the pastry was very thick so the crust was inedible couldn't even cut it with knife Television in bedroom signal was very poor either stopped or buffering at night when we tried to watch a program before sleep had to turn it off and use our phone to continue watching.

Hotel room was absolutely beautiful. Wonderfully clean and comfortable and felt luxurious! I cannot fault the room the and breakfast which was delicious and served by friendly staff with the a good selection on offer. However, the same cannot be said for the restaurant where we had dinner. Service was terrible, no smiles, no check back on food. Strange, weird bland dishes like a plateful of ricotta served without bread. Avocado toast served without the salsa, ravioli (and I seriously doubt if this is homemade as tasted from frozen) served without the ingredients mentioned. Man and cheese which had so clearly been warmed up in the microwave, lumpy and sticky. Glasses not cleared by staff and generally made to feel like we weee an inconvenience. Such a shame as the smell in itself is beautiful, warm and great decor. But the evening chef and waiting staff leave a A LOT to be desired. Very overpriced for some terrible food.

Ample parking. And we could park close to our room. Spacious, comfortable, well equipped room. Good tea/coffee/water in room. Excellent bathroom, superb shower (constant temperature, which is unusual), good toiletries. We enjoyed a very good and leisurely traditional pub dinner, preceded by drinks in the bar. Decent full english breakfast and tea/coffee served to our table. Very relaxed, particularly as we seemed to be the only guests still there at 9am ! All the staff gave us excellent service. For us, there was nothing missing. We look forward to returning for a longer stay.

Delightful quintessentially English thatched pub and separate thatched building with 15 en-suite rooms. Friendly and efficient staff and well presented food - loved the crisp bacon at breakfast! Clean and comfortable and plenty of car parking. Free wi-fi. Dogs by arrangement on the ground floor. Ideally located for exploring the New Forest or getting the Hythe ferry across to Southampton.

My room (15) was very dark and gloomy and lights were totally inadequate, even in the daytime! Stairs to first floor are quite ‘cottagey’ and steep, so accessibility might be a problem for some. As a solo traveller, I found it overpriced, but it’s understandable I suppose as the occupancy rate must be high in such a lovely location.

Comfortable bed, huge bathroom, warm abiance in room, with many details to convey the message: 'we care about our guests'. Food is amazing, whatever you order. Upon arrival we were a bit afraid of having traffic on both sides of the building, but at night traffic disappears, we had no problem. Even our child slept undisturbed.

Reasonably quiet location, very few guest bedrooms, separate restaurant and bar from sleeping accommodation. Brilliant shower, room could be considered homely, and well appointed. Breakfast was fast and tasty

Torturous stair case, double turn, no lift so heavy bags difficult to negotiate. Safety hot water device (it stops you burning yourself by assuring that hot water is never excessive) in our room (14) was malfunctioning making it impossible to get a bowl of warm water to wash. Restaurant ran out of some choices, we never did get the crumble on every night we stayed there.

General atmosphere and standards of a really good country pub and hotel. Hanging baskets, flowers and thatched roof enhance well presented premises .No noise from pub or car park even on a busy Saturday night .Room was large,clean and bed and facilities provided were excellent.

Expect some traffic noise from bypass,when hot weather requires open windows. A little tlc required to windows and bathroom tiles in room.

The staff were excellent in being professional, friendly and helpful. We had one outstanding problem which the manager, Pedro, sorted out himself. The staff went out of their way to accommodate my wife, who had been injured. Emily was especially helpful. The food was very good.

Our toilet cistern broke down twice. The basin was blocked and cleared very slowly. The manager thought it had been cleared (presumably let down by his maintenance man) and when I reported it again he dealt with it himself.

The place is very nice and the room was great. Had great beds and a huge bathroom with a great shower. The place is a pub with rooms so obviously the food and drink were great. The breakfast was also amazing with lovely staff that served with a smile. Thank you to all the staff, your friendly and helpfull attitude is amazing and made my day :) If I return to the area this is my first choice to stay again.

Nothing comes to mind, Me and my daughter were really happy with our stay.
