The property is an older accomodation that has been recently renovated. It’s quirky but in the best possible way. The new owners are terrific hosts and a pleasure to chat with. They are extremely friendly and really engaged in their local community. They were extremely helpful in every way they could be. The rooms are small but well appointed. The linen and towels are good quality and everything is spotlessly clean. The kitchen facilities were all new and more than adequate. There was a small private courtyard that was lovely to sit in and have a drink and a chat whilst playing cards in the evening. I hope the owners have success with their new venture - they have made the effort to please their clients and deserve it.

Nothing - we had a lovely stay.

Funky little motel with comfortable, well-equipped rooms and helpful staff. We didn't utilise it, but the motel offered free access to a local gym and swimming pool, which we would have found really useful if our stay had been longer. Easy parking and a short walk to beaches and the main retail and restaurant part of town. Staff recommended Camina for dinner, and booked on our behalf. By far the best dining experience we had in NZ, worth a special stop in Whangamata.

We stayed at a lot of lovely places throughout our NZ trip and had some really nice hosts but Carly and KB were just beyond comparison. They recently took over the motel and turned it into this wonderful oasis! The rooms are well equipped and very clean, the outside areas are nicely decorated and we could use the BBQ as well as the spa both of which were great! The best part though were our great hosts! They are the kindest people, so caring and always take time for a chat with their guests. Upon our arrival they had put some Christmas biscuits in the room and we even received a little gift from them. It was just the sweetest thing! You can really feel their passion for what they do and we highly recommend everyone who is in the area to stay with them!

There’s nothing that we didn’t like!

The Owner is amazing and made us feel very welcome. I love the beautiful, quirky, beachy vibe of the place and the outdoor greenery is stunning. Our room was safe and cosy and offered everything we needed for our two nights stay. The bed was super comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was a 10/10. The location is perfect if you want to walk into town for a drink and dinner. Me and my husband had such a peaceful stay. Highly recommend. Thanks again

KB & Carly have this little piece of paradise well set up. As a solo female traveler I felt extremely safe, and certainly made use of the BBQ and spa... a great soak after exploring the local MTB park! Attention to detail in the folding of towels, presentation of toiletries & local information with booklets was exceptional I also appreciated the willingness to help out with my queries, and the lovely friendly relaxed atmosphere.

We only stayed one night but it would be a great place to stay for a few days. We had an upgrade and the room and outside area was lovely. I could see that they owners have been working hard to make the rooms as comfortable and welcoming as possible. The bathroom was large and very well laid out. I liked the way one of the owners showed us around and to our room. The cost of the room was below what I would expect to pay. The beach was beautiful.

Spacious rooms and the motel has been beautifully maintained. It's a little hidden oasis in the courtyard. The new owners were lovely and incredibly helpful. They did an amazing job at what is probably their busiest time of the year!

If you are not used to traffic noise, take your ear plugs. It is very noisy on the street side. It is located right by a roundabout on a busy road and the noise mainly came from boy racers or trucks accelerating out of the roundabout. We were there for new years though so traffic numbers were probably tripled.

Me and my partner stayed for 1 night and booked the queen studio. To our surprise we were upgraded to the king studio as they had a spare room! We had a beautiful welcome from one of the hosts KB. He was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed before settling in. Me and my partner enjoyed every part of this place and wish we could’ve stayed longer! We will definitely be back.

I didn’t like how we only stayed 1 night… we wish we had stayed longer!

I was given an upgrade on my room. It was absolutely awesome. The lady and gentlemen at reception, along with their beautiful dog were exceptional and couldn't really thank them enough for their hospitality. Absolutely brilliant. I'll be up that again sometime soon I hope, so will definitely be staying there again.

The weather 😁

The owner was instantly likeable and his advice on different places to visit during our stay. The French doors for our room were great and allowed us to easily cool the room. The proximity to the beach is also a HUGE bonus.

Sadly no air conditioning (but grateful for being able to open the French doors) and the bathroom was a bit of a tight space and it felt as though the bathroom needed to be about a foot bigger in each direction. The only other gripe was not really having easily accessible charging locations
