Breakfast was good. Non dairy was provided without the need to ask. Fruit selection was fair. The dinner menu was fair and reasonably priced. Good ambience in the dining room. Cafe good. Somewhat lacking a lounge. Bedroom good size, fresh and fully equipped. With a superior double we got a free minibar as well as good coffee/tea making facilities. At this price it was great. Location is good - a short walk from the hub and harbour. Plenty of car parking.

For a hotel in a small town in a remote area it was difficult to find fault. There is no lift but that scarcely bothered us. All hotels in the North West of Scotland are expensive. At least the Caledonian tried to and really did, justify quite a high price.

Room was excellent, bed in one area with great view overlooking the loch/ferry terminal then had an area for hanging clothes, tea & coffee making facilities then good sized shower room. We parked in the car park at the back of the hotel without any problems. Breakfast was buffet and we were asked to book a breakfast slot and whole range of cooked food including haggis, pastries, cereals, fruit, yogurts. We ate in Caleys Bistro on 2 nights and enjoyed the food that was a very fair price, standard selection I had macaroni cheese & veg, husband had rotisserie chicken, also had the feta salad starter. Staff were so accommodating and helpful, always smiling and acknowledging. Centre of the town and we had lunches at the Seafood Shack, has to be on your list, and a mixed salad from the local deli - all fresh food. Did the Ullapool walk that starts from the Tesco car park, a challenge as steep in parts but well worth the hike.

Location can't be beaten - you are right in the centre of the village! The hotel has been recently upgraded/refurbished - it was in dire need of some TLC! And it's made a huge difference. My room had been totally redecorated and, as it was a disabled access room on the ground floor, it was HUGE! All fresh and clean and comfortable. Breakfast served in the dining room had a good selection of items and there's an all day cafe at the front of the hotel offering lunches/snacks throughout the day - lovely view down to the harbour. Evening meals are served in the dining room /bar - again, good quality, good selection and generally the staff were all really helpful and lovely.

This was a stop for 1 night before I caught a morning Ferry the following day. Excellent location, with just a 2 minute walk to the Ferry port. 5 minute walk to Tesco. Harbour shops and food spots are right outside the hotel. It’s a beautiful hotel, inside and out. Updated bathroom and bedroom. Clean. Very nice lady on reception while there. No noise coming from the outside street.

The bed was a little uncomfortable for me but I suffer with chronic pain. The walls were thin, you could hear neighbours and a loud banging from the radiator wall (which I then realised came from the boiler room where I was on the top floor) even with earplugs this didn’t block the sound much. - Nevertheless, fine for a night before the morning Ferry.

I stayed in Ullapool for a rowing event. The hotel was well situated for the harbour with plenty of parking. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel looks very nice.

The sound travelled a lot, doors creaking, people talking in corridoors and dogs barking which means I didn't get the best sleep. The curtains could also do with being a little longer as they let in light in the morning. It was also very hot in my room. I usually prefer a warm room but this was a little too warm and I couldn't see how to reduce the temperature. Non the less, it was still a pleasent stay and I would still stay here again.

Room was lovely and spacious. Very clean & comfortable. Great shower room, shower worked well. Had a mini bar that was stocked with 6 small bottles of various wines, small bottles prosecco & budweiser, lots of biscuits & tummock teacakes!! All included in price of room!! Was gobsmacked!! Room wasn't that expensive!! Had dinner, limited menu but very tasty food! Service efficient & professional. Breakfast was a buffet & had the usual problems of luke warm food but still edible!! Big car park at rear of hotel. Wasn't bothered by noise from road outside nor guests inside. Literally 3 mins from ferry terminal. Highly recommend.

Great location for the town and ferries - live music on the night we stayed both folk music and a really great duo doing C&W particularly Johnny Cash numbers!.. They alone well worth staying in the Hotel Breakfast was great. Typical Highland hotel, clean and tidy Bar staff excellent on the night even with a really large coach party in.. Reception staff were really helpful when I changed my booking slightly we were on second floor and it was a bit to far to bring my working dog so he stayed crated in the van Sea food Shack across the road (yum) and pubs in walking Distance

Nothing really.. Only minor grumble Highland hotels are dearer like for like than other areas.. you pays your money and takes your choice anyways..

This hotel has had a wee facelift since I was last here. It's fine from a shabby run down hotel to a fresh, clean hotel. A great restaurant with a good variety of food. With a bar, that is not through the roof with prices. It has a small cafe open at 9am meant we could get a breakfast roll with a very good coffee a lot cheaper than paying full price for a full cooked breakfast. Location of the hotel it close to all amenities. and the hotel tastes are very reasonable.. It's definitely gone up in my estimation since last time I stayed there.

The location was fine. The bed was comfortable. Staff were fine as was the breakfast.

I have stayed here before and the recent “improved” room was a little better than before . However it was already showing signs of wear modern furnishings starting to fall apart unable to cope with the public . The most expensive night for me on this trip and by far the least rewarding . A VERY small amount of soap in bathroom. No real means of being able to keep their tea/coffee bis & bobs tidy -a tray to catch splashes lay a spoon or whatever. I did not arrive for a view but there was not one anyway, so for the most expensive night on my trip around the north of Scotland quite disappointing. I did not see any unsugared cereal at breakfast. The bar closed before others in the village!

The staff were fantastic from reception to restaurant, breakfast and bar. Absolute perfection, made me feel like a guest on a 5 star place. I've been getting treated for cancer so had the accessibility room which was perfect for me.

The only downside was the shower lacked a bit of power and the breakfast lacked a bit of punch. The selection at the breakfast bar wasn't quite in keeping with the quality of the people. It was February and so I guess there's a bit more economy about the food as it was fairly quiet. I didn't eat in the evening so I can't comment on the rest of the food but it did jar a wee bit as it did feel 5 star in many respects but simple things like type of bread or quality of coffee machine, undrinkable in my humble opinion, but tea was absolutely fine for me. My poached eggs were delicious so no complaints as I found something that I enjoyed.just a wee bit surprised.
