This was our 4th stay at the Gairloch hotel, and once again it did not disappoint. We had a lovely stay during what was a difficult time for our family. The staff were not only welcoming and kind but also genuinely compassionate. Janet, Carolanne, Paul and Corrina stood out in particular. The location is stunning and peaceful, offering the perfect backdrop to unwind. The food was absolutely fantastic, every meal fresh, delicious and well presented. We’re so grateful for the warmth and care shown by the team. It made a real difference to our stay, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We had Room 213 on the 2nd floor. A lovely big room, very clean, tidy with a huge bed and the bathroom was spotless. We had a two year old Collie dog with us and this room was excellent. As a bonus this room had a sea view which allowed for some great photos of the sun set and rolling waves on the beach. We really enjoyed our four night stay at the Hotel. The evening menu had a good choice of differet food. I complimented the chef for the steak one night and his stuffed chicken breast the other. Great quality evening meal food.

The wind whistles through the double glazed sash window. This was pleasent at night with an air draft into the room. The only heating in this room was an electric Oil heater which we kept on for most of the time. Hot water, you have to run the bath for quite a while to get the hot water out of peek morning and evening times. Be nice if the staff smiled at the customers more but on the whole they were all very friendly and enjoyed a short chat. Breakfast was good as a buffet style but there was a lot of oil as residue in the bottom of the bowls of the cooked items. Eating breakfast at 0900hrs meant that some of the cooked items were dry, hard or soggie where they had been in the residual oil for too long.

The location was in lovely scenery but a bit far from other eateries. However the hotel restaurant menu was reasonably priced and what we ordered for dinner was delicious. Disappointed in the wine which was £24 for a bottle that averages £9 in the shops! We chose to have breakfast outside the hotel. We had a deluxe double very spacious but no discount or apology was offered for the scaffolding outside one of the windows- and no 4 poster bed as suggested on the booking.com photo!! Most staff were friendly and professional enough but beware the receptionist discussing her love life loudly with her colleague if you are up early sitting in the lounge!!

We had a very pleasant stay. Reception staff were very welcoming and helped to take our luggage to the room as the lift wasn't working. The room was large and spacious with a sea view. The room and bathroom was spotless however the rubbish bin in the room hadn't been emptied from the previous occupant. Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection of food and value for money and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

On arrival, both rooms were very cold with only an electric heater for heat which took sometime to heat the room up. The beds were hard and the pillows a little flat. We felt that the hotel was a little 'dated' and tired looking in places.

What a fabulous hotel. If you are in this area an absolute must. The location on the side of the loch is spectacular. The hotel is aged and the lift was out of action but the friendly professional staff were more than happy to compensate. Our room was spacious to say the least, everywhere was clean. We had a delightful dinner of Cullen Skink soup to start, and the cabaret after rounded off the perfect evening. There was an excellent choice of well presented food for breakfast. I can't praise this hotel highly enough. Thank you all so much

Perfect nothing to add

I do like the more established hotels with their old school charm . From the entrance with its well crafted revolving door still with the original bronze furnishings and throughout the building that i saw was just nice “period” ambiance. The hotel from its slightly elevated position from the coastal road gave a spectacular view out over the sea to Skye! And while i was there a lovely sunset .

I did not “dislike” anything , staff were very welcoming . It could be said that some degree of maintenance may be done as it often is in any property -not least modern poorly constructed buildings. ( my previous night was spent in a “recently” upgraded hotel with modern fittings like hinges collapsed on cupboard doors. I go on as this confirms my above liking for the more period furnishings etc as they can and still do take daily punishment from the public .

the loch view is nice. Room is adequate, water is hot. Heaters work. There is a lounge/bar area that is nice to relax in , separate to the restaurant. The bar prices are about par for the situation/setting. Didnt try the restaurant. Quiet despite being full. Directly opposite loch.

Bespoke is a bit of a stretch. This was the least appealing of all our Scottish accommodation over a 3 week period (but still satisfactory). The property is a little tired and seems to be favoured by tourist buses and travellers with dogs. Needs some updating

Beautiful room!

Our server, shortish woman with dark hair, would ask us questions and then walk away as we were mid-answer. Not very friendly. Our room was FREEZING all night, wind was howling into the windows to the point that our curtains were flowing with each gust. Made for a long and semi-sleepless night… Bed was very hard and pillows were hard too. There was only one accessible outlet, more would have been great! Last recommendation would be smart TV’s in the rooms :)

Location was amazing.Sraff were very friendly.

Hotel needs a lot of maintenance inside.Just very old which is to be expected but it does look very very tired.Breakfast was a very basic buffet breakfast , definitely not keeping up with breakfast trends.Could be a supply issue due to its location but surely there is more fruit accessible then just a choice of water melon for morning fruit. The choice of cereals also looked straight from the cardboard box..Making a nice granola/muesli is not that hard.

The staff were exceptional throughout the hotel.. especially on reception! We were surprised just how comfortable and relaxed the hotel was. Having been to Gairloch many times to see family, of late we ve had to look at staying in hotels and were always reluctant to pick the Gairloch BUT having stayed there would highly recommend it. We didn't have the Breakfast but had Dinner on our first evening. The food was very good!

Not really a complaint as it is an old, beautiful building and but in places could do with a little TLC. This is a very minor point as it is generally in very good order and certainly would not put us off staying again.
