Location was first class, walking distance to everything and approx 150m from bus station, parking available on street, checkout simple with key drop, never seen any staff the time we stayed. What a special place! So well maintained and room facilities were great. We were with 2 other couples and everyone was comfortable in their rooms. We had room no. 2 and although there was no view it was spacious, modern and light. Loved the quiet position yet it was walking distance to everywhere in town and out of the 'hustle and bustle' of the main area which isn't noisy anyway. Communication with the owners was easy and they even went out of their way to help us when it was realised that we had left some shoes there by posting them to our next destination! Great service and would highly recommend this little gem.

Ideal location if you stay on Isle of Skye. The hotel offers free parking but you need to take in to account that there are just 6 spaces for 10 rooms! First come first served. :) The room is cosy but small (I don't complain!). There are several pretty good restaurants around but unfortunately they are closing early, around 9PM which is not really good when you are on the island for hiking or other outdoor activities. There is a COOP shop nearby which is open until late. Overall, I liked this place and will consider booking it again when I'm on the island next time.

The location of the accommodation is excellent, it is in the centre of Portree. It offers free car parking directly opposite the property. The view of Portree harbour is fantastic especially if you have a room with a view which we did. Very quiet too. 2mins walk to the Co-op supermarket, restaurants and gift shops. It is essential to pre-book dinner reservations (we did).

The bathroom became very hot due to the heat from the towel rail. A major disadvantage is that breakfast is not included which means eating out. You can either buy pastries from the Co-op or have breakfast out but bear in mind that they don’t open until 8am.

The self check in was so easy after receiving clear instructions on this. The hotel itself is in an amazing spot to view the harbour. Close by to the local shops for whatever you need. I was in room 5 for a single person and it was ideal, everything you needed was inside. Views from the window were great too. Bed was really comfortable too. I will definitely stay here again and I highly recommend. Wasn’t a lot of car parking spaces but thankfully there was a space available when I arrived. Additional free parking can be found in other streets. Overall great wee place to stay!

Rachel and Stuart made our room perfect. It was a birthday getaway, and they took the extra effort of decorating it with "birthday decorations" plus a very cute card filled with wishes! The view from the room is spectacular especially in the morning you can't help but want to chill by the window and drink your tea. The room is spotless and very warm and cozy with a small extra space/closet to put away your suitcase/clothes. Overall, next time I'm visiting Isle of Skye I'll book again straight away a room at Coolin view.

Great location right in town with an amazing iconic view down to the harbour. Staff very quick and helpful to sort out the tv that was not working on arrival. Parking outside which is a great bonus.

As its room only a small bar fridge would be handy. No fault of this hotel but I t’s more expensive compared to London and New York but that is the isle of Skye all over not just this hotel - just ridiculous really. We would look to stay on the mainland next time and travel over the bridge.

Me and my partner visited in January for a 2 night-long weekend. Got the top room, with maybe the best views in Portree! Cozy (not super-spacious) room, but more than enough when you spend most of the day out and about. Very comfy bed, and boiler and coffee in the room. Portree is a cozy city in a fantastic location obviously, but note that not everything is open in winter, so there are fewer restaurants to chose from.

Only very minor things: Didn't meet any staff in person, and no breakfast, but I understand that keeps the cost down, and didn't really matter for our part. A lot of narrow stairs up to our room, so some people might prefer the room on the ground floor better.

Excellent location. Check in was easy. Room and bathroom were both very clean. No issues parking on site.

The room we were in was very small-bathroom was the size of a closet. Other rooms looked bigger so it could be we just booked the smallest one? The wifi did not work well in our room. There is no lift so having to walk your bags up 3 flights may be an issue if you have mobility limitations. We had no problems parking but parking is limited (7 spots for 10 rooms) and first come first served, so in the busy season may be an issue? Watch the curb was you pull into the car park spots, it’s a bit high if you’re not expecting it in a rental car. It was not an issue for us because we read a review where someone mentioned it so we were prepared!
