Location was excellent, we had a harbor view from our bedroom. Breakfast was very good although some confusion with the orders (the chef was on emergency leave so we made allowances - the food was however still very good - restaurant was temporararily closed other than for breakfast). Room facilities were good.

no lift, room was up 2 flights of stairs (we had heavy luggage). Parking nearby was difficult at times - hotel had no parking of its own. Price was astonomic compared to other places in Scotland. However that may be due to location.

Brilliantly central to everything on the island. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were the best we had at that point on our trip. Breakfast was included in our rate and it was delicious and filling, and we really appreciated the staff member on every morning; she was delightful. Bar staff were also very helpful and pleasant to deal with.

I must mention that the walls are quite thin; I could hear the people above us walking, talking and snoring. The room we were in was also directly across from the main door to the bar and people were not quiet about closing it despite the sign on the door. Not a negative, but a heads up to others; free parking is very limited close by the hotel. We were fortunate to find a spot every day, but the distance to the hotel was different every day. Also, the heaters in the room are on a timer for a few hours throughout the day and night.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location is perfect, right in front of the pier, offering a breathtaking view. My room seemed to have been recently renovated, with a modern and excellent bathroom. The view from the window was absolutely stunning. Breakfast was lovely, with a good selection of food. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it!

Minor details, but nothing that affected our stay The only small drawbacks were that the floor in the room creaked a little in some areas, which is understandable given that it’s an old (yet renovated) building. There was also a slight damp smell in the room (or at least that’s what it seemed like), but nothing too noticeable. None of these minor details affected our satisfaction with our choice – we truly enjoyed our stay!

Warm welcome from staff. Smooth check in and good explanation why access corridor had carpet up at time. Price is very reasonable as too many places have hiked their prices in Skye because of the very high levels of tourism. We had our dog, Harley, with us and the staff treated him very well. Hope Megan got a good photo for the Gallery of Doggy Visitors Breakfast was exceptional. Superb coffee, porridge and eggs Benedict. Really was amongst the best breakfasts we have enjoyed. Sadly we had to forego our breakfast on our last day as we had to leave very early.

Decor is a little tired and would have liked a second chair in room. A better set out hospitality tray e.g. with a place to rest teaspoon so you don’t dirty table top and all the sachets were in the cups so you have to empty cups, then leave sachets loose as nowhere else to tidy them. But these are minor niggles in what was essentially a very clean and comfy room

Amazing location with beautiful views of the harbour. We got the last available room on street level - it was still a great view and there weren't many people on the outdoor deck or walking by the windows in mid-Sep. Reception was friendly and efficient. The room was very clean. Breakfast was really good, with your choice of made-to-order hot options as well as self-serve cereals/yogurt/pastries.

We were very lucky to find parking right in front of the hotel. We saw other frustrated guests trying to find a spot elsewhere as there isn't any dedicated area to stop briefly to check in/drop off bags. The hotel is very clear about having to park elsewhere and Reception provides clear directions on options once you get in. The hallway carpet had been ripped out due to recent flooding.

Location was fantastic. Sea View room was great to look out on the harbor. Tables on the water out front of the hotel were great spot for takeaway fishnchips from The Chippy. Breakfast was good too!

Driving/Parking is definitely a bit of a challenge as the location is very tight and parking is extremely limited. We lucked out with the last space along the pier. Otherwise you use lots farther away which could be a struggle with luggage. But it's all about the history of the hotel and location, they can't do anything better on their end with the parking.

Breakfast was great value and very enjoyable - choice of hot meals as well as cold buffet options. Dinner was also very good. The view from the restaurant over the harbour was fantastic. Location is right on the harbour and close enough to walk to shops and restuarants in Portree. Portree itself is a good base to explore the rest of Skye.

Its an old building on a damp isle so you have all the usual things that come with that - small rooms and dehumidifiers.

The bed was comfortable and the furnishings in the room were nice and well done. The location of the property is also fantastic! With the sea-view room you can see the iconic Portree rainbow houses.

It wasn’t made clear that the bathroom shower does not have a place to hook the shower head, so you need to hold the head as you shower. It isn’t a dealbreaker, but I do think it should be included in the description, especially if someone had mobility issues etc.

Excellent location on the quay. The hotel is built by merging several fisherman’s cottages, which is reflected in the layout. The rooms are comfortable and live up to their description. When we were there the restaurant hadn’t yet opened for the season, so I can’t say anything about it.

Breakfast wasn’t available, in spite of the description on Booking.com saying so. We had to go to another hotel (not many places were open early in the morning since it was low season).

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was cosy and comfortable and had a brilliant view. Excellent location. Would definitely recommend for those visiting Skye and looking to stay central in Portree.

Sadly the restaurant was closed which meant we were unable to stay bed and breakfast or book an evening meal, but we understand this was due to them being closed for renovations so hopefully look forward to returning in the future.
