We loved everything about this hotel. The location is ideal for exploring Skye. You can walk out the door and start hiking. Drive to the right and you're headed toward Talisker and Fairy Pools. To the left, Portree, Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, Dunvegan Castle, and the Quirang. The hotel is perfect. Beautiful, practical rooms with comfortable beds, a nice closet, and plenty of light. The bathroom has an amazing shower and, the rarest of all Scottish unicorns...washcloths! Towels are huge and water pressure is terrific. Parking is free. Breakfast was included with our rate, and it is delicious! Lots of choices from full Scottish to avocado toast. The restaurant next door, Seumas's, is also a bar. Food is pretty great and the service is excellent. Lots of beers and whiskies, too. Shout out to Marion who made our stay especially wonderful. She is a gem of a human.

I loved everything!

The room was great, including the bathroom facilities. I really loved the shower! A fan really would have been nice, as we couldn't really keep the window open too far due to how many midges were around. The breakfast was delicious but very slow for the ordered breakfast beyond the continental. The rooms were updated but it seemed like some of the common spaces could use a refresh as well. I was expecting a much more polished hotel for the price but I think it was the area and scarcity of availability that drove the pricing.

A fan being offered in the room would have been great. Also, the front desk staff check-in was slightly awkward as I wasn't sure we had completed and done everything needed, then two staff members were talking about time off, etc. I felt they could have waited, as I felt like a nuisance or that I shouldn't have been standing there while they had this conversation.

Hotel is spotless and the staff are so friendly and you know you are looked after well and safe and can relax. Food excellent and hot and freshly cooked to order. I couldn’t honestly fault anything. Hotel is on a main arterial central location on the island and our room looked out to the Black Cuillin mountains - opening curtains to see that - Wow! Good for the soul. Had a lovely stay here. Seamus’s bar adjoining it is spacious, again clean. Food was very good and a busy bustling vibe. Cost for the hotel or bar meals some may consider pricier however it’s an island and prices comparable across the Highlands and Islands hotels and hospitality venues - portion sizes were huge here - so just budget for it all and enjoy because everywhere else much same but not as good, hot and meal size portion to here. Chill and enjoy and have a good time as we had. Faultless and the Sligachan is going to be my return to hotel of choice on Skye for next time. An overall comfortable and rested stay. Great location, friendly staff, food and drinks in the bar next door were far better value for money compared to the hotel restaurant. Big shoutout for the lads behind the bar very friendly and welcoming and if you like whisky there is substantial selection to choose from! Room was ok. Breakfast was nice. We had a knock at the door and it was a member of staff that returned my wallet that I didn’t even know I’d lost. Very much appreciated this so thank you so much!

There wasn’t really anything we didn’t like , the rooms need abit of TLC for the price we paid.

Loved the whole experience, apart from the food. The cosy residents bar was lovely. The location is stunning.

Wonderful quirky hotel with a Fawlty Towers vibe. There were a few Basil moments which made us chuckle. To be honest that added to the fun of being in this amazing remote location (in a storm!). The only serious negative was the food. I chose a curry because the chef was Indian, but it was honestly the worst curry I've ever eaten. Poor chicken, no spicing and watery sauce. Surprising. The shower drain was blocked with some hair. The restaurant lacked atmosphere. There was a nice log burner but it wasn't kept going all evening.

I was lucky and my room got upgraded, it was well decorated, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were top tier, friendly but not overbearing. They really made my stay.

The hotel breakfast. It tasted fine, but arriving at breakfast at 7:30 when it opens and not getting your food until 8:10 isn’t the best. The cheapest thing on the dinner menu being £27 is disappointing. Had I researched before I’d gone I wouldn’t have eaten there.

We loved the location, the food was exceptional both in the evening and the breakfast (good selections, local food, well-presented), the staff was lovely, very helpful and engaged. The night of our dinner, John was by himself and we didn't notice at all. The bar was super cozy and the hotel is convenient if you want to start on a hike, first thing in the morning. Dinner was fabulous and so was breakfast. Bonus points on the fantastic bathroom! Got a bath and shower, freshly renovated. Highly recommend, will come again.

Not a fault of theirs but we were traveling with a person on crutches and there is a spiral staircase - no lift - that is hard to manage when you're less mobile. We managed alright but it's a challenge to consider. They supported us in every possible way though.

Whilst the building looked a little shabby on the outside it was well maintained and clean inside. Well appointed and comfortable room with all the facilities you would expect. Lovely friendly and welcoming staff. Great food at the bar - would highly recommend the cullen skink. The two young lads playing Scottish music really made our evening.

A little on the pricey side but the only hotel in the area.

When we traveled it was VERY hot for Scotland. Our room was warm since no hotels have A/C. Manager went out of his way to find a fan for us and helped configure windows and blinds so the evening cool air made us comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional. The attached bar Seamus is top notch with friendly bar tenders and live music.

The three employees, Chelsea, Marian and Kirsty whom we dealt with at check-in, breakfast and throughout the day were amazing! I cannot say enough about how hospitable they were. The room was spacious and well appointed. The breakfast was very good, and dinners at the bar adjoining the hotel were exceptional. In reading other reviews, I am amazed because I was treated with nothing but respect and care. The hotel is very specific about only hotel guests may use the facilities. Being so near a tourist attraction, I can understand why that would be required.

I really can't think of anything the hotel or the staff did wrong.
