Great location, very cute design, great staff

A bit of steep price that I’m not sure is warranted Being on cabin #3 which is one of the farthest ones it is quite a hike to be doing regularly honestly. Wasn’t even asked if I had any physical issues with it before assigning that cabin.

Wonderful location - in the heart if Portree but also great views and very quiet. Loved having an individual pod, with the bar and restaurant very close. Both the bar and restaurant were excellent too. Loved that the rooms are spread up the hill, meaning that you can have a stunning view if going up the hill, or if your mobility is an issue you can have one closer to the main building. The rooms themselves are spacious, well insulated and beautifully appointed. The sauna and plunge pool were also very handy for post-run recovery. We loved staying here and would book again.

Lovely location with an amazing nature view.

Climbing all the way up to the top of the property where our cabin wasn’t fun especially when there is a golf cart (that wasn’t allowed to be used to carry folks up the hill). Further, the television and internet weren’t great which was frustrating when we wanted to plan our next day in the area.

Great views, the rooms and very cosy. Like the heated floors in the cabins. The hub is very pleasant too. The breakfast was delicious.

The parking is a bit strange. The customer car park is a few hundred feet from the hub. Then the rooms are a further walk. Would make sense to maybe swap the staff and customer parking about. Also pretty disappointed that the sauna was not working when we went and seemed to be a major selling point of the hotel

Brilliant concept with accommodation in tiny wooden cabins set into hillside and overlooking Portree and the ocean. Cabins are stylishly decorated and have an ensuite. Really comfortable beds and the cabin was so snug. Main building (Reception, Lounge and Restaurant) is beautifully designed. Did not eat at Restaurant at night but did have breakfast (included in price of accommodation), which was great. We were assisted to our cabin (at check-in and check-out), by a Porter what carried us and our luggage in a buggy.

Design of Ensuites could be improved. Round Handbasin and position of this, limits the space and ability to move more freely in the bathroom.

If you shower when multiple other pods are using the water, the hot water runs out very quickly, My partner had a shower before we went for dinner and got halfway through before running out of hot water, he had to boil the kettle and fill the sink just to be able to wash the shampoo out of his hair, we found that you had to get up early to be able to complete a shower with hot water. The overall value for the pod was quite pricey seeming the issue with the hot water and also our pod had a missing wardrobe handle and an inside light that did not work at all. The pathway for the pods was dimly lit at night so could be a struggle for people staying in the further away pods.

Perfect location, a walkable distance into Portree but you feel really remote. The pods are brilliant — super cosy and with all the modern comforts you could want, the perfect set-up for relaxing after a day exploring Skye. Breakfast in the morning was spectacular, from the local produce to the service and the view, we're already planning a return trip next year!

The main pain point was for our car, as we did have to navigate a particularly large, concrete speed bump to get into the car park — no problem if you're in a 4x4 but if you have a low car, it's pretty risky. Also, as we were in the off-season, the restaurant and bar were closed and we weren't informed until we checked-in — this was mostly just disappointing as we were really looking forward to dinner at the restaurant! The staff member was very quick to recommend alternative dinner plans, though.

Pods were excellent, very comfortable. The sauna and plunge pool were brilliant! Perfect for us as we are cold water dippers. Restaurant was lovely, breakfast was particularly good. The hotel Also left a small gift for me in the pod as the stay was for my 50th birthday - was a very thoughtful touch and much appreciated.

The only negative was that your vehicle is parked a walk away from the pods. Although they provide a golf buggy service to transport your luggage on arrival it’s not ideal.

This was a surprisingly well-designed pod with a comfy bed and bathroom in a lovely hillside setting and a view of the harbor. Sadly, we both fell ill during our stay, so it was especially helpful to be able to stream movies on the large screen TV using our Netflix account, which helped keep us entertained while we recovered. It was also great that breakfast and dinner options were just a short walk away in the main lodge. We highly recommend the Bracken Hide Hotel!

Falling ill was not in our plans, but it never is and it does happen. The Hotel was not fully prepared for a take-away meal option with trays and containers, but they did their best to accommodate our needs. This is the only area for improvement we would suggest.

We had driven past all these beautiful fields but spent no real time in them. At the Bracken Hide I felt (in a small way) that I was finally taking some time to stop, look around and enjoy the actual landscape. I particularly enjoyed sitting out front, reading my book and just enjoying the view. When I booked it I thought it looked quirky, and it is. It's small but not tiny. It has everything you need. The people were great. I had read there was potential trouble with the Wifi, and I thought we might have trouble with that at one point, but Netflix suggested that maybe we had too many devices on the system, so we took a laptop and phone off while we watched the movie and it was fine. The connection remained solid even through driving rains. If I came back to the Isle of Skye, I would stay there again

I was happy with everything. I have no complaints.
