Mery & Les were so friendly, I don't think we've stayed anywhere that has such amazing one to one care and attention from their hosts! Mery's breakfasts were delicious and very good portions and she still asked if you wanted more just to make sure you were satisfied! They even went out of their way to find me some decaf coffee. She also prepared some tasty homemade cakes and left them with our breakfast to take out with us for the day, which were lovely. I had a wedding on the Isle of Skye and I asked which option out of my two dresses were best to wear as I realised the location we were going to wasn't your usual wedding venue - due to not having a coat or cardigan suitable for the location, she got out her own clothes and said I could have one of her cardigans that she was going to give to charity anyway. I thought this was incredibly thoughtful and kind to go out of her way to help me but also to let me keep it as we were checking out that day! They also have lots of maps and guides to help you plan your trip and are more than happy to go through what you have planned and suggest restaurants, places to see and where to park etc. We loved hearing about their stories and sharing ours, and liked how we were asked how our days were and what we got up to...it was honestly like living with a friend or family!!

Nothing we didn't particularly like, just perhaps a long mirror in the room would be a great addition and potentially a new mattress, as it sunk down on the right side quite a bit but other than that, it was a great stay!

We found the cottage very quaint, clean, comfortable, and peaceful. Breakfast was delicious, freshly prepared, and punctual. We chose the English breakfast every morning but there are other options. On a side note, I lost a very important set of keys while staying there. After we flew home, I notified the cottage owner, who proceeded to search the entire house and even went to ask for them at several places in Portree where I had opened my wallet. Sadly the keys are still missing but I'd like to publicly thank the owner for her help.

This is the place to stay to be totally taken care of by Mary and Les. Everything you could possible need is provided. Mary prepared the best breakfast of our trip! Everything was made to order, complete with homemade bread and takeaway sweets for after our hike. Mary helped direct us to dinner in town and even told us when there was a traffic accident to navigate. She did our laundry (for a fee) which was such a help. The bed is soft and cozy and the location very peaceful. Definitely recommend!

Very cute place - comfortable, nicely decorated like typical mountains houses ! We really felt at home! Perfectly located to enjoy Portree and the most popular hiking trails on the Island (Quiriang and The Old Man Storr). Les and Mery are wonderful people : super nice, they gave us tips and advices to organize our visits on the neighbourhood, shared their passion about Scotland and made sure we had everything we need. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and generous ! A wonderful way to start the day :) We highly recommend this B&B in Skye and are considering coming back !

Really nothing to mention

What stuck out to me most was how warm and friendly our hosts were. We met Mery the evening we arrived, and she showed us our accommodation and ensured to get our preference for breakfast in the morning. We had four options to choose from, all sounding delicious which made it hard to choose. The room in which we stayed had a small table for us to eat our breakfast at, which she brought in at the time we asked. She also brought freshly made cake for us to take with us on our day's journey. It was a thoughtful (and delicious!) touch that I truly appreciated. Her and her husband's passion for where they live shines through in the conversations we shared with them. It also can be seen in their choice of decoration throughout the accommodation.

The only thing that was a little different that may not appeal to everyone is something we were well aware of before booking the accommodation -- the private bathroom for this room is not attached, but down a small hallway. This didn't prove to be an issue, but I can understand how some people may not want that.

The space was super clean and cute! The bed was exceptionally comfortable especially after a long day of hiking around the Isle. The breakfast was phenomenal. You could tell they really thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable and homey. It was fantastic to chat with the hosts and their recommendations helped us have a fabulous stay.

It was a quiet, peaceful place. And we rested like never! Amazing people, very good breakfast. Get a great recommendations what to see and a fresh cake for a trip everyday! Even though there was no fridge in the room, we could leave some stuff in a fridge in the shed. Can’t recommend more!

Absolutely nothing

Stayed a couple of nights here to visit Skye. Mery and Les and little Blake were amazing hosts and offer a really friendly warm reception. They have a great knowledge of the area. The photos around show how beautiful Skye is and are from their own personal experiences. Our room was spacious and clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was separate but private for our use. From Portree turning off the main road it’s a single track with passing places but not for a great distance. We got diverted when we first arrived and had to come in from the other side which was much much longer and quite an experience. The breakfast was outstanding. A banquet of delights. Delivered on an amazing handmade trolley to our room by Mery. Best choice and quantity and quality we’ve ever had. Weather was not in our favour so wasn’t able to appreciate the setting as much as we’d have liked. Looking at the photos though they’ve had some spectacular sights. One thing to note and Les and Mery will advise where to go if you’re eating in Portree for evening meal book in advance. It’s not easy just to walk in.

The separate bathroom was a little inconvenient and the TV was on the small side and not in the most practical positions. Small insignificant nit picking things really. The place is great.

Mery, Les and Blake are the sweetest people! The cottage is adorable, very clean and close to town. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and served when we wanted. They went above and beyond and even washed a load of laundry for us. My husband and I were on a 25 year anniversary trip, so they made us a beautiful card and gave us crocus bulbs to plant in our garden back home. I would highly recommend the Red Robin Cottage!

The owners I liked best, she did her utmost to please us as gyesrs with a delicious breakfast , baked us muffin to take and home made granola. Mary’s the best👏🏻.

The wifi is poor as is on the rest of the island, use an e-sim and your hotspot on your phone to tackle this problem. The island is beautiful when the weather’s okay.
