It’s a lovely experience to stay here. If I’m honest, the property is a little dated and in need of a little fuss here and there BUT, and this is a big BUT. It may be a little old fashioned and I’d be tempted to maybe drop a point on the scoring here or there but I cannot do it, because actually, it’s simply a bit dated and that is it. It actually reminded me of growing up and it triggered some fond childhood memories, and I liked that. I found myself daydreaming about my youth at the breakfast table. SO. Back to the review. Yes it’s a little old fashioned but actually the place was immaculate. The view we had was a sea view and lovely. The room and bathroom was very very clean and tidy. Breakfast was very straight forward, with a pre order on the usual hot items and a help yourself on the cereals, cold meat and cheese and yogurt etc. the food and hot/cold drinks were more than plentiful, and all the labels etc for allergies etc clearly marked and well communicated. The carpark was large and we were close to the entrance. There is a lounge and bar if you wanted to relax or socialise and this too was clean and tidy. Upon arrival, we were greeted by an exceptionally nice man called Micheal. He was very warm and welcoming. He was well presented and polite and very approachable with an attitude that nothing was too much trouble if we needed help or information. In Fact, Micheal was the main event for us. He was very very professional and having served 25 years as an area manager which was lead by customer service management, I found Micheal to be a huge asset to this hotel, and he is the sole reason all of our scores are lifted to a clear and solid 10/10. Micheal greeted us, he signed us in, showed us to our room, gave us a tour of the hotel, advised us on the lounge and bar and took our breakfast order and was non stop pleasant and friendly. He seemed to be running the whole hotel single handed and worked from early until late. What a credit to the business.

I loved everything, although more staff would be helpful, simply to take some of the workload from your star man.

We loved the warm welcome, the hosts were very attentive, showing all the facilities, they also booked us in for a lovely dinner at the old inn, upon return we were able to use the guest lounge which we loved. Room was very comfortable, with a super large bed, there were also plenty of tea and coffee provided. Our pet dog molly was not only welcome, but made at home with her own bed and food bowls! Breakfast was pre order for hot food and a large selection of cheese hams teas coffee cereal and yogurt available.

Lovely hillside location overlooking Gairloch harbour, the "honesty" bar was cosy and comfortable and a great place to spend some time. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good. Also worth mentioning, down the hill is the sister location, "The OId Inn", a cosy pub which is old-fashioned in all the right ways - good beer, good food, great staff and good value for money. One of our favourite stops on our 8-night road trip, pretty sure we'll be back!

Very large room and even a dog bed waiting with water and food bowls. Great food at the sister Inn down the road which was very dog friendly. Honesty bar where we served ourselves if we wanted to have a drink when we came back from the meal. Great breakfast in the hotel and they had even put us a table separately so we could bring the dog to breakfast if we wanted.

Postage stamp TV with only free view but not then end of the world for the hour or so before going out.

Nice location. Although out of the village itself, it is in a very pleasant spot, within short, easy walking of its sister property, The Old Inn, which served excellent food. Michael, our host, could not have been more welcoming and informative. Everything was well organised and nothing was too much trouble.

The property is in a great location, but is very tired inside & out. It really needs updating. On the whole, everything was clean and tidy, but the shower for example was virtually unusable. A trickle at best. It is a shame, because this could be really an excellent hotel, in an excellent location. Michael, however could not be vaulted, he was hard-working and very welcoming.

Cosy comfortable room with excellent view of the harbour. Facilities all good. Location was great with an easy quick walk to the sister hotel (the Old Inn) for dinner where service & food was superb. Honesty bar was rather novel & the lounge was spacious & comfortable. Staff very friendly , welcoming & helpful.

Breakfast could possibly be a bit more organised. You had to order what cooked food you wanted the night before to avoid unnecessary waste (good idea) but then when we came down for breakfast somebody had obviously taken more than they ordered so we didn’t get ours! There was plenty other cold breakfast food available but not hot food. We were however compensated with complimentary filled rolls to take away with us for a snack lunch which was appreciated.

Good location and good parking. Staff friendly and helpful

For the cost did not expect paper cups in the bedroom. For the cost needed a heated towel rail in the bathroom. very limited menu in the restaurant ( but it was late April when not busy) Breakfast staff were excellent but the hot food was very limited . We were moved from their sister hotel which was no problem to us but in doing so they increased the cost by £15 which we are still waiting for it's return.

In a lovely location we had double aspect room, with woodland hill view and from the other a view across Gairloch and the sea. Lovely sunset and view of the moon. Room spacious and comfy. Staff went above and beyond for us. Nothing was a bother from getting us fed as we arrived after 9pm to planning routes for our forward travel.

Nothing we could fault. Yes it’s an old building but with that is a charm. It had a lovely warmth with it, you were made to feel special. Something we’ve not experienced before!!

We checked in so late due to some road repair works around 11 pm, yet everything was perfectly arranged at the reception with directions to go to the room and wifi password. Rooms had a Victorian look, the beds were cozy, room heaters were working, We were late for breakfast, the staffs were kind enough to arrange the basic stuffs. Overall a very warm feeling on a long road trip

All seemed positive to us

Nice to have a separate downstairs bedroom for guests bringing dogs - even though that meant no view!

Whilst we understand that some dogs can be disruptive in the breakfast buffet area, and are therefore banned, it is surely not impossible to set up a small area ( in the honesty bar?) with proper tables and chairs for guests to eat with their dogs. A coffee table is not really ideal!
