We booked through booking.com and paid very high price which was unacceptable.

Clean room and comfy beds. We were checked in quickly. The room had windows all around which created a very open and welcoming feeling

Breakfast was a bit basic and they didn't have that many options. They have an odd policy where they've banned ordering outside food so you're stuck with the hotel food options.

The staffs were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent specially the breakfast had choice of Srilankan and western and we were spoilt for choice and free. Roof top bar accommodate smokers and non smokers separately.

The aircon and fan was working but noisy so that we had to switch them off while sleeping.

The breakfast was also lovely, as well as the staff in all areas being very kind, welcoming and always willing to help with whatever we needed. I have stayed at this hotel a few times previously too and the standard has always been consistently high. Mahendran and all the other staff members were a big help for us with booking transport and sorting out any other issues that popped up. Would highly recommend anyone else booking their stay here too.

The location; friendliness and helpfulness of all front office/reception, restaurant, room attendants and security staff. I had booked a sea view room. Soon after arriving, Mahindra who was in charge explained about the new sky rise building that was partially blocking the clear sea view. He didn’t want us to be too disappointed, showed us four rooms to look at and upgraded us to the ‘VIP’ room with larger windows and better sea view where we could see the sunset. We appreciated his kindness and thoughtfulness. My sister has mobility issues and we were touched by Rashika (restaurant) in particular who helped her with the steps. cannot fault anyone;All staff we encountered made our stay memorable. Particular thanks also go to the security staff who opened the gate for us each time we left the hotel without complaining.

It would have helped to have known when booking about the new sky rise building partially blocking the sea view. Although the hotel has a lift, older people with mobility difficulties still have to manage steps to access the restaurant. There are no grab rails by these steps to grab onto causing some anxiety. Managing the front steps can also be difficult. We accidentally found a ramp that led to the outside. With hand rails and grab rails in appropriate places this can be used for anyone with mobility issues to go in and out of the hotel.

The staff were very friendly and always willing to help/assist. The room size was good and noise free. The cost for stay matched expectations. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was exceptional.

As a first time customer, would have appreciated more toiletries in the bathroom; bath/shower gel, shampoo and other nic naks. Although these would not be used, first impressions matter.

Breakfast - Food was Great with different variety each day. Room was nice and clean Staff were extremely friendly and attentive to our needs.

Room could do you with some minor refurbishment, and bathroom could have some A/C too.

Air condition and air circulation need improvement. Had a bad headache and sore throayt. The AC noise is too much to bear. May be nothing to do with AC, my body is not adapting to these type of AC. I stayed at Hilton, I felt good.

Friendly staff - extremely courteous; Room service - excellent; Breakfast - simply superb; Great location close to beach; and Prompt laundry delivery.

Laundry charges should be revisited for visitors staying for more than a couple of nights. Fair View Hotel’s ocean view about 50% blocked by an adjoining multi storey building under construction. However the remaining 50% view was still breathtaking.
