We booked 3 nights. Confirmed with the manager twice. First night via booking.com partner. Check in was on 5th 2pm. We reached the hotel by on the 6th 1.30am. When we check in we were given two single beds instead of large double bed booked in. The fridge was not working for us to put the chocolates that we brought for gifts. Till 3am we were up tired asking them to change our room for us to relax after the long flight. Nothing happened. First time in my life time we were forced to sleep in a single bed in 40 years. Sorry I am not used to it. Ended up in sleepless night. Then we were ask to contact on the 6th morning. Hang around couple of hours at the counter. The managing director showed up and he was very helpful but said there is no rooms available. I have made my daughter to book this hotel from another one from the 6th. At the end the manager said that he will make sure that we will be given both rooms with Large double bed by 1pm. We went out and the receptionist at that time was very helpful and they gave the rooms that we booked. The staff are good. Some thing wrong in their system really bad. Get the booking for something else and given a room different and we haven’t use the room on the first night didn’t open the bag even for moving to the correct booked room . We get upset because they said that there is no availability of our booked room. They managed to get it later. Wonder how did they do that.

The location is very convenient, making it easy to get around. The front desk staff were very attentive and welcoming. The bell boys are always alert; they open the door promptly and maintain a high standard of service, which adds to the “wow” factor.

The car parking at the entrance seems to be occupied by the manager’s or senior staff’s vehicles, which limits easy access. If this were managed better, the place could have a smoother and more elegant in-and-out experience. Like a proper drive way entering from Marine Drive and exit to Moor's Road.

It was clean and the rooms are big. The location is very good. The staff were very friendly and greeted us whenever they saw us. The place is very environmentally friendly with different measures taken like solar panels and multiple signs around the rooms with reminders to turn off lights and such

If you're someone who needs extra hot showers that may not happen because the hot water depends on the solar power. And so we didn't get hot water consistently. However they did have a sign in the bathroom mentioning this and apologizing for the inconvenience.

Mirage Colombo is a good hotel that offers comfortable rooms and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and always ready to assist, making your stay pleasant and hassle-free. The à la carte dinner options are excellent, offering a variety of delicious dishes that are definitely worth the price. Overall, Mirage Colombo provides a satisfying stay with its good rooms and exceptional service, though the breakfast could use some improvement in terms of value.

The breakfast, while decent, isn’t the best value for money when it’s not included in the booking price. Some of the local eateries may provide more exciting alternatives.

Location, view from the hotel, restaurant staff were awesome.

Except for one person, we did not feel the warmth at reception at all. When we arrived, no one came up to help us with luggage. At reception, the person who handled our check in followed just the process, did not even urge to sit. We had to have the welcome drink standing in a corner! Once check in was done, he did not even bother to help us at the lift or even be considerate to even ask if we needed any support with the luggages or to open the lift door. Someone else at the reception understood the concern and came over and supported us. Reception staff needs a serious training on how welcoming they should be. It was a serious turn off when i had my 10-year old son and 70-year old mother with me! Empathy is the key!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! The location is perfect, just by the sea, and the sea view from the room was absolutely next level – truly breathtaking. The staff were friendly and communicated well, and the service overall was great. It was a peaceful and relaxing experience, and I would definitely recommend this place to others.

one downside was that the windows weren’t very clean, which slightly spoiled the otherwise beautiful sea view. With cleaner windows, the experience would have been perfect.

I have stayed in many hotels in Colombo during our holidays. Mirage is the best one and value for money. The room was huge overlooking the beach. Comfortable bed with extra thick mattress. Clean room. Variety of dishes in the breakfast. The night before our departure we had a very relaxing time in the pub with glass of wine and a tasty meal . Good customer services. There was a nice pool but due to our busy schedule we couldn’t use it . From now onwards we will stay at mirage during our stay in Colombo.

The rate of exchange used for settlement of US 52 was exorbitant tried to charge me @ 330 after a protest dropped it to lkr 321 per $ but even this was high. They claimed it was Bookings.com rate which is a lie because the same morning I checked out of another property in Kandy Eearl's regent where they charged me only @ lkr 310 This is a ploy to extract extra money from guest.

The Location was superb......it's a sea-view room...specious

A decent hotel facing the beach, the Mirage suffers a little from its maintainence and upkeep. The room furniture is dated and looks past its refurbishment date. The breakfast spread is good and the dining room has great views. The pool is small and barely ok for a few laps. The staff is polite and smiling and try their best to sort out issues.

The AC in my room was totally ineffective the first night - I complained but it was a little late. Next day, the techs spent the better part of an hour to sort things and it worked better. The hotel is overated as a 4 star....the location being the only saving grace
