Loved the history of the inn. The architecture was so beautiful. The room was very large and beautifully decorated. I stayed in the Governor's suite. Each window looked out onto an ocean view or garden view. The stairwell, which was beautiful, took me to the lovely dining room where I was served the most wonderful breakfast, which was included in the price! I was first able to taste the most delicious blueberry muffin, which they make from scratch. The menu gave a lovely choice of waffles, eggs Benny, two ways, bacon and eggs, or bagel with yogurt and fresh fruit. I chose bacon and eggs. Two poached eggs, two bacon, choice of toast (sourdough for me), and fresh fruit compote. A choice of juices and coffee or tea. 5-star absolutely. Upstairs, there was a sitting room that was breathtaking. The design was one of a kind for sure. The large windows looked across to the ocean. There is a charming little walkway out back of inn that takes you to a garden. The day was rainy, so I didn't get to really enjoy its full beauty. First and foremost, the staff are wonderful. Excellent hospitality given by all. This would be a wonderful place for a honeymoon couple or if you were celebrating an anniversary. I loved my stay here and would definitely come stay again. 5 star all the way! Thank you to The Latch Inn for a beautiful stay.
Absolutely nothing!

I truly enjoyed my stay at this place. It is by far the sweetest step-back in time with a beautiful cottage feel to it. It is nestled away in a quiet and gorgeous corner of Sidney. That vintage feel! There is so much attention is paid to the little details. Most importantly, even if it was not all that, the customer service I received was exceptional and deserves 5 stars. Once again it was the attention to detail provided in the customer service throughout my stay that made it incredible. My stay was most certainly a great experience, and I would return on my next visit to Sidney.
I'll skip over the unnecessary nitpicking as I adored this place overall!

An atmospheric, old world inn. Stunning architectural details such as log walls in lounge and fieldstone fireplaces. Many nice features--nespresso coffee maker and microwave in the lounge, refrigerator in room, plus thoughtful touches like an umbrella and a foot stool to help getting onto the high bed. Excellent bed, old-fashiioned deep claw foot tub. And to start the day a fabulous fresh-cooked breakfast. Great proximity to airport, and both a marina and a beach within easy walking distance.
The room didn't have air conditioning and was a tad too hot in the afternoon. The carpet in room had a stain, but for us this was more than offset by the room decor and features.

The service provided by Anji was outstanding. The building has a lot of character, resulting in very unique stay in a super convenient location! Highly recommend the waffles for breakfast.
The Latch Inn has the potential to be excellent, but there were small items which made us feel uncomfortable at times. In the library room, there is a bright red exit sign by the bathroom which kept us up at night. Missing light sconces, mis-matched light bulbs, and speakers installed in the corners of the room took away from the classic luxury ambiance we were hoping for.

I loved everything about visiting The Latch Inn - it's charming heritage, quiet location, sumptuous living spaces, and gorgeous bird and flower filled gardens ... Ah, this place was bliss. The service is friendly and very accommodating and the breakfast was lovely i highly recommend staying at this beautiful very special place.
It would be helpful to have a nice waste basket in the main bedroom (there was only a small one in the washroom). As visitors, bear in mind the majority of restaurants close by 8 or 9 p.m., and there are very few delivery options past that time.

Breakfast SUPER Loved having the staff present us with Anniversary tray with chamagne Loved having cookie tea Loved having homemade cookies again the next day Excellent care by the staff. Appreciated talking with the new owner
Our Bathroom was not good - under repair - did not use bathtub of shower! Someone tried to dust but did a poor job - needed dusting badly. As it was downstairs, we had no coffee easily assessable - good Nespresso upstairs! The reservation was made in my name - Roberta Comment below states my husband's name, he was not involved in setting it up or writing these comments!

This old historic inn is like a time capsule that has been lovingly cared for. Very quiet with spectacular significance to its era but with modern amenity updates. The four poster bed and quality bedding enveloped you at night and it was very quiet. Polite and attentive staff were there for any needs. The breakfast was delicious. We will definitely stay again when back in Victoria. We would like to thank Anji for his polite caring.

We had a choice of cooked to order breakfasts, in a beautiful dining room. The food was delicious and the presentation was delightful. Our host/cook was very charming and helpful. It’s a heritage hotel that was built on many acres long ago. Today its grounds are small, tucked in between a ship yard and condos, but the gardens are still beautiful and the building is well maintained and quite charming.

Loved the breakfast, everything we tried we loved. Fresh orange juice, home made berry biscuits, and I couldn’t get enough of the eggs Benedict. The owners were lovely and so accommodating, even chatting with us to give us sight seeing suggestions. The outdoor patio was a great place to drink our morning coffee, we even had our breakfast out there one day when it was warm out.
Everything was great, This is a very old building that the owners took so much pride in. The renovations kept the history of the home but still upgraded things appropriately. Only complaint we had was that it was quite warm at night so not having air conditioning wasn’t great.

Elegantly furnished, holding true to the history of the building. I loved that it was in a quiet area, no traffic, just the harbor sounds. The breakfast was amazing, room amenities were lovely and it was very clean. The beds have fuzzy fleece blankets which I prefer to duvets. We were thrilled with our stay, and will recommend to our Yukon friends as a nice Vancouver Island hideaway.
The property is a few blocks from the Sidney shopping area, but that's barely a dislike, because I liked the quiet.
