This review is coming from the perspective of someone who lives in Melbourne, Australia - where things are expensive. We stayed in a pool bungalow, it was a 1 bedroom villa with our own pool. For the price it was great ! Nice view of the water and a comfy bed. If you’re a coeliac / need to eat gluten free, I highly recommend staying here. The Mangoes restaurant food is really good, they have gf options and are really accomodating in modifying meals to gluten free. The fish was so fresh, the lobster was incredible and the steak was chefs kiss. Shout out to the chef, Every meal we had was perfect! You could probably find food cheaper somewhere elsewhere but we ate here the whole time because we were lazy and it was delicious. Also, the pina coladas were good too! We did ended up moving next door to the terraces after two nights because we wanted a little more privacy and space. I’m pretty sure both accommodation is the same owner. We continued eating at mangoes restaurant. The room services is still from Mangoes at the terraces. All of the staff were soooooooo nice and relaxed. Also, if you feel like a little change of scenery, you can walk down to the holiday inn and purchase a day pass for 2000VT // approx 25AUD to use their pool and facilities. We rented a kayak and paddled around the lagoon, saw lots of pretty starfish and some regular fish too.

Some of the facilities are a little outdated but for what you pay it’s fine. We were told you can drink the tap water here, but I didn’t want to risk my weak digestion on that so we purchased water from Mangoes everyday, which did add up. Would be nice to have 2 bottles of water in the accomodation on the first day, but understandable that there wasn’t because the tap water is fine.

On arrival, I was welcomed with ice tea, which was so refreshing in the humid heat! The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and did their utmost to make sure my needs were met during my short stay. They shared helpful tips and local excursions I could book. The food in the restaurant was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. My bungalow had an amazing view, and the private pool is a must do! I had a great time there and would definitely return.

Maybe an upgrade is due in the near future as it looks a little outdated but otherwise for the price, it's a great place to stay.

Fantastic hotel, with three awesome pools, stunning views of the lagoon. Very friendly and helpful staff. Big spacious room and lovely bathroom -fans and air-con, depending on preference. High quality free Wi-Fi.

Need new doors, hard to fit into (with only half door opening - can open other side but a pain). Still need to pay extra for breakfast (only covers a light breakfast). While can get taxi's, without own transportation, getting buses is a bit more problematic in this location - not much in walking distance.

The restaurant on site is absolutely amazing - one of the best places I ate on the island - I actually came back after check out to eat again, Until I left I also didn't realise how fairly priced it was. There is a lovely relaxed vibe and really lovely views from the lagoon view rooms. Its very quiet and you can hear nature and theres lots of little birds that come around the property. There was a lot of rain in the evenings but the sound was really nice. The staff looked after my bags and gave me lots of advice. All of the staff made me feel very welcome and compared to other resorts I stayed at they were among the most friendly, kind, knowledgable and helpful Each room has its own wifi router (so as long as the island has internet you have internet)

There was a new air conditioner installed but no yet operational - however the fans in the room were really efficient and quiet.

Small quiet, well kept resort. Loved the gardens and three pools in the resort as well as the pool in the Lagoon View Pool Villa. Also villas were very comfortable fitted with an aircon and ceiling fans. Amazing view from the restaurant which served delicious, fresh food that was beautifully presented for each meal. One of us had a birthday while staying and received a special sparkling treat enjoyed on one of the balconies.

Absolutely lovely place to stay at with very friendly staff and immaculately, clean facilities. Highly enjoyed the restaurant and bar with delicious food that we had for breakfast, lunch and dinner, especially the private dining experience with Chef Taku. Loved the private pool and other pools as well. Very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Would’ve loved to have some air conditioning in the room as it got quite hot at night and the air flow wasn’t too great even with windows open and fans on. But that is to be expected when traveling in summer to a tropical country.

Great food, friendly staff, decent size rooms and a well maintained property with several pools including a private one with lagoon view villa. I also enjoyed a blissful massage, the free room service and yum cocktails.

There isn’t a lot in immediate vicinity by way of other shops or restaurants but it isn’t far in a taxi / bus to town and most tours pick up at resort.

The staff of the hotel at the reception and restaurant were very friendly, forthcoming and helpful. Spacious rooms and very good views of the harbour from specific rooms.

Breakfast was included, but when we ordered that breakfast, quantities were very, very small and with limited variety. Thus, you are in a way "forced" to order the extras, which are chargeable. Otherwise, you will be left feeling hungry...

It’s becoming run down and they charge you for air conditioning which makes you feel very cheated as Vanuatu has a very hot climate and air conditioning should be a standard for travellers. Also the amount of breakfast food was very stingy. Not sure if that is due to food shortages from the earthquake but it would have been nice if this was explained.

Very good hotel with spacious, clean rooms. The second time we stayed here, we were given a room with a nice veranda overlooking the Portvila harbour. What I particularly liked at this hotel was their staff. Easy going, smiling and forthcoming staff, yet very professional. The hotel's restaurant served delicious food.

The last time we stayed there, the toilet cistern was running... The breakfast was a bit pricey compared to the quantities served, and the way they were pricing breakfast was confusing.
