Breakfast was excellent with a wide array of warm and cold foods to choose from. The breads and muffins are freshly baked on a daily basis and the ladies who serve and prepare the breakfast were incredibly warm, attentive and friendly.

I would have preferred more storage space in the room I was in (ocean facing). Perhaps where the little bench is below the clothing rack and where the safe sits, one could put a larger enclosed cupboard for storage. Also a bigger safe that can store a laptop would be useful. Finally, the shower pressure and the water temperature was a bit offish. I would have loved higher shower pressure and consistent water temperature in the shower.

Location, STAFF became like family, especially Melody! She is a true asset for this guesthouse! We could not access the lounge as it was upstairs and we have very poor mobility. Food and drink was delivered to our room, not the ideal, but staff really tried to accommodate us. Truly a wonderful, unforgettable few days, Paternoster will always have a place in our hearts!

Lounge inaccessible with our restricted mobility, upstairs and only a rope to hold on and no support to get in and out of the pool. Perhaps Gonanna could consider being more disability friendly.

Gonana was a beautiful place to stay; a pleasant surprise - even nicer than pics show on this site. Beautiful and comfortable. The staff was friendly and pleasant. Breakfast was quite nice as well, with amazing views!

The only drawback that caused issues for us: two of the guests staying at Gonana acted as if they were at their own home. They wore robes with nothing on underneath whenever they were in public; including at breakfast and when walking the beach. Even after we spoke to the man and asked him to make sure his robe was closed properly, he and his girlfriend continued to do as they wished. This made for some uncomfortable morning dining.

Guesthouse faces the sea, with breathtaking views and sunset from the lounge area and terrace. Our bedroom was facing the sea, special to see it from your window when you wake up in the morning, with direct access to the beach. Our second bedroom didn't face the sea and offered a total different experience, really recommend to pay a bit more for it! Everything was very clean with nice vibe. Service was impeccable, with smooth check-in and welcome, staff is very professional and has particular sense of detail (which is not the case everywhere in Cape town area). Even before you arrive, they reach out to you with many recommendations and activities to book in advance (I recommend as it quickly becomes fully booked). Breakfast has a great variety of products and offers a very complete buffet. Guesthouse also has a snacks and drinks bar you can purchase from at any time making it very convenient.

Pool area is small and in the entrance area, not making it very attractive or relaxing. We didn't make great use of it since we were staying only 24h but I can imagine this can be an issue if you stay longer. Bedrooms are below the lounge area, so it becomes very noisy whenever people are there (especially early in the morning when they go for breakfast). A bit overpriced for South Africa and Cape town area in general, but worth spending one night!

We were blown away by the stunning location and beautifully decorated interior. The amazing breakfast was the perfect cherry on top. Our stay was truly unforgettable - highly recommend!

One small note - we preferred traditional thick towels over the Barrydale Weavers towels. While they might suffice in summer, we found thicker, softer towels were a better fit for winter comfort.

We had a wonderful stay at the guesthouse! The location is perfect—just steps from the ocean with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The room was clean, cozy, and well-maintained, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. A perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommended!

The location right on the quiet beach is incredible, the staff is super friendly and professional and makes you feel very welcome as soon as you arrive. The rooms and the rest of the property is beautifully furnished, making for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The breakfast served in the mornings in the communal space upstairs is just great.

The property was clean and love decor and aesthetic. Very homey also modern and chic.

The only minus is , as I was booked in the room downstairs the footsteps in the upper living room can be a bit of annoyance however that is the infrastructure. It wasn’t that bad as all guests were quite respectful.

So well put together. Decor was splendid and position of Accommodation fantastic. Breakfast and provision of food and drink super.Staff friendly and helpful. Peaceful and relaxing stay. Loved fireplace and warm arrangements in room.

Nearly slipped in bathroom. flooring cold and towels not to our liking . Had to ask for fresh towels everyday.

Everything was fabulous. The only thing I'd add is some lounge chilled music in the common living room ..nothing hectic just a little something to enhance the ambiance. ..not a necessity but maybe at sunset and breakfast ? A little something on the background.
