The ladies looking after us were so hospitable and kind. They make a great breakkie too! The pool was very refreshing - just note that if you book the King-sized room you will be upstairs and don't really get a view of the pool. However, you can still use the pool as it's for all guests to use. The ocean is also less than 250m walk away.

This is more of a note for future guests: We were hoping to get a direct view of the pool so booked the King-sized room as it said pool view. The Queen-sized pool actually has a better view of the pool as the bedroom door opens straight onto the pool. However, as it is a shared pool the king-sized room actually offers more privacy and you can come use the pool whenever you like.

A faultless stay at Smuggler's. Walking distance from a beach and some waterfront restaurants, a 5 minute drive from everything else. But it is the staff and owner that make the stay. The b&b is thoughtfully appointed, beautifully cared for, cleaning and service are excellent, and the breakfast - ours beside the pool each morning - is fantastic. An outstanding experience.

Excellent location, literally 50meters from the beach. Fantastic stay, more than what we expected. The extra room was great for luggage and baby's cot (which they provided with cute toys), the view over the pool was fantastic and it felt like our own extra space as our room is was the only one overlooking the pool area. Breakfast was wonderful and delicious. Thank you so much!

Absolutely nothing

A well run unit offering the one of the best value propositions in Paternoster. With Ansu living on the property and continually monitoring standards it runs exceptionally well. All staff are well trained and friendly Look no further than staying at Smugglers when in Paternoster

Smugglers Cottage is a quaint BnB in beautiful Bek Bay serviced by kind and professional staff, managed by ever-helpful, estate manager, Ansu. We booked the family suite consisting of a main bedroom, adjoining 2nd bedroom with twin beds and small ensuite overlooking the swimming pool and linked to the main house’s lounge area. The bedrooms were cosy and equipped with all the essentials and even had some ‘nice-to-haves’ such as rechargeable lamps for loadshedding. The beds were super comfy and we had comfortable nights rest. The complimentary breakfast was tasty and the ladies preparing and serving guests were kind and went out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of.

Although completely out of control of the BnB, local crayfish hawkers circled the property and even followed us to the beach after we indicated that we weren’t interested in purchasing crayfish.

Initially they were very strict with their times but we managed to get to our activities in time after they did change their Breakfast time earlier. Suggest that they are more courteous/open for requests

They should be more flexible in their attitude towards guests. They offer a service and should be accommodating. It felt like I am negotiating my schedule to suit them and not the other way around.

This is a lovely property, a short walk from the centre but close to the beach. Service was great, friendly but unobtrusive. Great pool area for sitting and relaxing. ~The hostess is lovely and very attentive.

Sea 100m away but no real sea view except from upstairs bedroom through a very small window (should really consider making much bigger).

I had the room upstairs and liked it very much. Everything was super clean, it‘s nicely decorated, spacious, with a comfy bed, and windows that are gooing to 2 sides of the beautiful and typical Paternoster building. Breakfast is lovely too, and the staff are all wonderful.

We liked the location very much, beautiful bay so close by. Our room was situated at the swimming pool area, which was really nice. Breakfast was good and staff very friendly!
