It was an incredible experience. The room with the private onsen was absolutely amazing—I could relax whenever I wanted, and it felt like pure bliss. The dinner and breakfast package was brilliant! The food was simply outstanding, with each dish perfectly seasoned. The sashimi was extremely fresh, and they even provided two types of soy sauce for pairing. The Appetizer Platter, Wagyu shabu-shabu), and kamameshi were all incredibly delicious. Unfortunately, I was so full that I couldn’t finish all the kamameshi, which I truly regret. Breakfast was equally exquisite and delicious, with great attention to detail. I highly recommend adding the food package to your stay. The service was also top-notch, with staff ensuring that everything was perfect throughout my stay. If I have the chance, I definitely want to stay here again. Highly recommended!

location. It’s not within walking distance from the station, so it could be a bit inconvenient. But the hotel does provide a shuttle service, which is very helpful.

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and was wonderful as our first ryokan experience. We were picked up from the train station ready for check in, the staff were very helpful and could not do enough for us. We really reccomend the deluxe twin with the bigger onsen, this was such a highlight. The evening meal was incredible with 9 courses all clearly explained to us as they were served. Breakfast again was great and explained to us so we knew what we were enjoying. This was an incredible experience for us in Beppu!

Loved the room with private onsen on the balcony. The food and services were exceptional. We couldn’t eat pork so the hotel carefully made adjustments in advance for our meals which was very nice of them. The room had both traditional and modern design which was very stylish. Recommend everyone to stay here.

The staffs were not there to facilitate 24 hrs. So if you need to go out at night, you need to remember the password to get back inside the hotel. There are not so many shops or convenient stores near by so if you need to buy something, buy and bring it before checking in.

A wonderful and reasonably priced accommodation with a spring bath (in the form of a clay type bathtub that has continuous flow of spring water at about 50 Degree Celsius. You add cold water to meet your ideal temperature for soaking which the staff explained fully when they bring you to the room. The staff actually came out to greet us at the parking lots (free although limited lots) and assist to bring the luggage in and then up to the room at the 2nd level. Traditional Japanese clothing for men and ladies were provided for your own selection. And the room toilet seat cover actually opens up automatically when you enters. We ordered the basic Japanese traditional meal and I would not rate it as basic. It was just wonderful although the serving comes in multiple dishes one at a time taking us almost 2 hours to complete. But with no other amenities around the facility and our purpose there was for the private in-room spring bath, we enjoy having the long dinner. Food was good though small serving that completes with dessert. I would certainly recommend this accommodation. The facility also provided a splendid complimentary breakfast. Not sure if it was part of my dinner booking which I didn't clarify.

The room are at the 2nd level without lift so it can be a task for those with difficulty climbing. Heavy luggage were not a problem as the staffs happily help you with that up to the room.

From the moment we arrived to the property, the staff were very warm and welcoming. Some of the staff were able to speak English, which made it easier for us as foreigners. The ryokan seems like it has undergone some renovations as parts of it felt a little bit more contemporary, yet holding feeling traditional at the same time. The entire property was well looked after and clean. Having a private onsen with our room was very convenient and we took advantage of that several times during our stay. It was a nice way to relax after doing so much sight seeing the week prior. Both meals that were included with our stay were excellent. Both were kaiseki meals and showcased more local ingredients. After walking around Beppu and seeing some of the other resorts and onsens, we were very happy with our decision to stay at Beppu Nagomitsuki. It's on a quiet street and isn't too big. You don't get that commercial, large resort feel. It feels more quaint and genuine at Beppu Nagomitsuki. One last note, they had a shuttle van and were able to take us back to the train station after we checked out. This was very nice as we were expecting to have to get a taxi.

Nothing.

We had our own little Onsen bathtub in the room, just like the pictures. And you could use the in-house Onsen during the night, if you came back late. The staff was super nice all around, even though not everyone spoke English. We had two breakfasts, one traditional japanese and one western. We weren't fans of the japanese one, but it was still a good experience. For anyone not in the mood, maybe ask at reception for olny western breakfast for your room.

I wouldn't recommend the Onsen for light or sensitive sleepers. There was a quite humming going through the whole Ryokan. (Maybe the pumps for the Onsen) As soon as I laid my head on the pillow, I could feel/hear the vibrations in my head. Earplugs didn't help much.

Wanted to experience private onsen / ryokan while staying at Beppu. Price of Nagomitsuki was very competitive and immediately locked it in with the breakfast package. Room had a good mix of modern and traditional feels, where you're sleeping on modern beds that are placed on tatami. Was given a choice to have breakfast at either 8 or 8:30AM. Breakfast will be served at the eating area on the first floor. They were kind enough to give us a call when we were slightly late once. First breakfast was Japanese, the second was more Western style. Overall, very nice and cosy place. Location wasn't an issue since we were driving. But I would assume it to be very difficult if you're not. Additionally, the nearest Lawson is Lawson Beppu Shoninnakamachi. Staff there has questionable attitude towards tourist though, so be prepared before you go there (or maybe don't visit there).

Stay was great all around -- I thoroughly enjoyed it. No dislikes.

Everything was absolutely wonderful, from the kind staff (they even translated the menu for me) to the great room with the exceptional personal onsen with a view of the garden. It's well located, in a quiet but central part of town so everything is quite accessible, even by foot. The half board (breakfast and dinner) is absolutely a must and exceptional food : a dream moment for me!

For me it wasn't an issue at all but please note that the personal onsen keeps an ongoing flow of water so for those with a light sleep, beware.

This was our first true Ryokan experience and it left us wondering why in our trip we hadn't booked more of them! From the moment we arrived we were treated superbly. From the initial arrival with all staff coming out to meet us to them all waiting and waiving bye as we left. Our room was clean and comfortable with a great enclosed balcony/courtyard with private onsen. I never take baths (I don't fit too well in a standard tub) but on this occasion I took one on arrival, one after dinner and one before breakfast. The thermal spring water was great for my skin and the tub itself was large enough it was up to my neck comfortably without by knees poking out. The included dinner Omikase, was some of the best food i've eaten - 7 courses of impeccably prepared dishes from the region, all served by the attentive staff. Breakfast again was a delight and left us not wanting to leave.

Beautiful, relaxing, and lovely hotel. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Location was lovely as it was in a quieter area of town but not inconvenient (there is a train station approx 10 min walk away). The onsen in the room was just delightful and the lovely tiny forested area just off the balcony where the shower/onsen is gives the illusion that you are far more isolated. Room was spacious and comfortable. Not a problem at all for us, but the beds are quite low to the ground, which may be an issue for others.
