Warm welcome from accommodating hosts; comfortable room with all necessary facilities; nice breakfast selection; ease of parking

Nothing really. Thought the entrance hall was splendid and with the door open into the garden it looked lovely. The carpet on the stairs to the first floor looked a bit tired and there was water damage to the ceiling in the hall. Maintenance issues that had no affect on my stay. There was a little mould on the seal around the bath behind the taps (a tricky spot) which I only noticed as I am obsessed about that in my own house. The bathroom mirror fully steamed up so I had to wipe it with a face cloth to shave, whereas in the previous hotel the mirror was either treated or somehow different so that whilst the edges steamed up, the centre remained clear and I could see my ugly mug. There comments aren't meant as criticisms, just observations.

My room was really lovely - comfortable, large, homely, quiet.

I was there for the Hay Festival - which a few guests seemed to be. This meant there was a bit of a bottleneck at breakfast time as multiple people wanted to leave at similar times. Perhaps knowing that this will probably happen each year, the bnb could anticipate this rush and offer (even sell) solutions e.g. a Hay Festival breakfast pack up etc.? And perhaps they could position themselves as '*the* place to stay for Hay' - with all info (about buses, shared lifts etc.), tips and tricks available :)

Beautiful room (rm 5) with lovely views of garden and the most comfortable, spacious bath. The hosts were so welcoming and accommodating. Even though it was a shower over bath, it was an amazing shower head and water pressure. Delicious breakfast with very high quality products. Great proximity to train station and town shops/restaurants.

The guest house was full so parking was a little difficult but the hosts were very quick to help. Perhaps lines showing where people park would help as the space could have fit more cars in if people parked differently.

The owners were lovely and genuinely wanted us to have a good stay. There were little touches that made us feel there was a generous spirit. The breakfasts were excellent with a big choice. Fresh milk was available for tea and coffee in the room.. Ensuite shower room was very good. There was a lounge to sit in. The hotel was a 10 min walk from the station and it was a short walk to the centre of town.

There was nothing we didn't like. We stayed in room 8 on the 2nd floor which faces the road, which was fine. There are rooms available which don't face the road.

Great hotel, the staff were fantastic. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the room was great. The mini bar in our room with water in was a welcome touch. The garden was beautiful. We enjoyed sitting watching all the birds with a drink from the honesty bar. Breakfast was nice with lots of fresh fruit and lots of choice. The walk into town was only 15 mins away, so it was a great location for us. We will definitely be back, thank you.

Nothing.

Somerville House is centrally located in the historic part of Dorchester. The hosts were very welcoming, and helpful with ideas for sightseeing and restaurants during our stay. Breakfast was a highlight, with plenty of options and very generous (too generous for the waistline!). Fairly quiet during the night, with double glazing of the windows.

It is a heritage building, so no lifts. But Karl helped carry suitcases for us.

Sheila and Steve, owners of Somerville House, were tremendously hospitable hosts - nothing was too much bother, even fetching us plates for our takeout dinner one night. The B&B is a short walk from Hereford train station and not far from the town centre, so it's easy to get around even without a vehicle. The stellar (included) breakfast is served to order, hot and made with local produce. The accommodation was spacious, comfortable, with beautiful views of the town and cathedral, and spotlessly clean. A fantastic value for your stay in Hereford - even the minifridge, stocked with local treats and drinks, was remarkably reasonably priced!

Hard to imagine what they could possibly do better!

Beautiful house with sympathetic decor reflecting the period of the house. 15 - 20 min walk into city centre. Good breakfast selection, plenty of choices. Staff were friendly and attentive. Good bathroom facilities. Iron and ironing board in room, s fridge sith a selection of drinks to purchase. Free coffee anf tea facility. The owners ard keen to try to reduce waste, and they use very local produce abd products.

Nothing really that I did not like.

2nd time of staying here within a month and have now seen 3 of the bedrooms, all of which were great. Love everything about Somerville House, including the beautiful views and accessible location; in easy walking proximity to the railway station and town centre. Thoroughly recommend. Sheila, Steve and staff are warm and welcoming as is the accommodation and as for the breakfasts what can I say: wide choice of quality local produce, beautifully cooked and presented with a smile. Great coffee to boot. Thank you.

Although not in the centre of the city access to it was easy. The presentation of the rooms and communal spaces is tasteful and there are nice personal touches. Excellent choices available on the breakfast menu. Our hosts clearly take pride in what they do.

The only criticism, but this is perhaps more down to personal taste, is that the quality of the coffee given at breakfast did not match the quality of everything else.
