It’s a nice hotel with good and spacious rooms (I had the best one with a hot tub), comfortable beds, good breakfasts and very friendly staff. I assume it was renovated recently since it looked quite new. There is a pool on the roof which I never used, but my colleague did and said that the water was warm enough, thanks to mid-November being so good in Malta. There are multiple places you can hang around in - from the cafe area on the 1st floor to the garden with a fountain. Good value for money indeed, despite the fact that the hotel is in a middle of nowhere - getting to Valletta takes 10 minutes by taxi.

That church next to the hotel is just crazy. I’m an atheist, but even of I was religious, I would stop believing in a few days after hearing the bells ringing almost every 15 minutes and, the worst part, that times like 1 and 4 AM don’t bother them - they just keep on banging. On Saturday it was especially crazy, felt like the war had started. I know it’s not hotel’s fault, but the neighbour is crazy. I woke up many times despite the fact that I usually sleep really well.

A very special place! Beautifully designed rooms; delightful staff who were always attentive and welcoming; and went out of their way to help with bus routes etc a lovely village location, fantastic breakfasts with a huge selection of options included in the price (notably Eggs Benedict, omelette, Shakshouka, pancakes, Croque Madame and traditional English).

We loved everything! Particularly the ancient traditional building. Being next to such a fine church was a bonus. And we loved the church bells ringing in the morning.

We had one of the suites and the space you get with it is amazing. The bed was very comfortable and the location made it a really quiet place to stay (apart from the concert that was on over the weekend we were there oops.) The staff were super helpful and friendly which made the stay even better. Also the cake at breakfast was insanely good, we wished we could have taken some back in our suitcase! The pool was small but not busy at all and there were sun lounges or chairs to sit on around it and near the bar.

The breakfast really could do with a bit of a mix up. I feel like everyone reviews say the breakfast needs improving but they haven’t done anything about it.

Exceptional hotel with very friendly staff. Great breakfast, wish it would be on the roof though, outside. We enjoyed witnessing the religious celebrations which were outside of the hotel. Fotos provided online are a true representation of the hotel.

We did not have a balcony, which might be worth checking before booking. Hence no place to dry our beach towels but they offered a laundry service which was a good gesture. It would help to have more hangers on the wall for the bathroom towels; we struggled with the three of us. For such a great hotel, I expected more sophisticated food at the restaurant which was a pub food. You need a car to move around and if you want to have lunch/dinner outside ( 7 min from Marsaxlokk which is perfect)..

The staff were incredibly friendly and always went out of their way to accommodate our requests. The bed was excellent—super comfortable—and despite what we’d read in other reviews, the church bells nearby weren’t loud at all. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a baby cot included in the room price, which was a lovely touch. The indoor pool is truly something special—unique and really cool to experience!

We stayed for 6 nights, and unfortunately the breakfast became repetitive. They rotate the same breakfast menu every two days, mostly centered around eggs, with very limited other options (a small selection of fruit, cornflakes, and mini croissants). The waiting time for breakfast was quite long—around 20 minutes, and even longer when it got crowded. While the presentation looked nice, the taste was just average. Also, be aware that the hotel doesn’t have its own parking. If there’s a festival or event nearby, finding a free parking spot can be challenging. For some reason they don't have a power socket in the bathroom that fits their hairdryer!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience during my recent stay at Palazzo Castagna. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and we were pleasantly surprised to find our room ready earlier than expected. The room itself was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged—from the plush bedding to the high-quality toiletries. We also appreciated the quiet atmosphere, which made it easy to relax and get a great night’s sleep. We stayed in room 204 with the exclusive terrace with hot tub. The hotel amenities were top-notch. We especially enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pool and the on-site restaurant served some of the best meals we’ve had in a hotel setting. The breakfast buffet was varied and delicious, with options to suit every taste. What truly stood out was the attentive service. Every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable, offering helpful tips about the local area and always greeting us with a friendly attitude. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious, comfortable, and memorable hotel experience. We’ll definitely be returning on our next visit! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautiful building with improvements since a visit in 2024. Great pool in basement and like that it is exclusive to book for an hour. We had room which had a jacuzzi it was spotlessly clean and bonus of a screen for wind or insects. Quiet area. Recommend a car or taxis to Valetta are approximately 10euros each way. Lovely seafront village close by taxi 6euros with good restaurants. Staff very friendly and customer service great.

The breakfast has changed from my previous visits. It is a buffet style now, which is not as good in our opinion due to the fact that there is basic foods now and not as much choice. For example used to be able to order made to order omelette or eggs Benedict, or a full english style breakfast. Now it’s continental only eg chips, boiled eggs, sausages, beans, salad, cold meats, cheese and bread. Few cakes. I am sure lots are happy with this. It’s just not a lot of choice compared to previous years.

The hotel has simply exceeded our expectation. Everyone was so welcoming, the lady at reception (I am sorry I can’t remember her name) welcomed us upon Check-in and she gave us a list of things to do and see including fun facts about each place, she was incredibly knowledgable of the island. At breakfast, Sandeep was so friendly and memorised our breakfast order and we didn’t even have to say a word when we sat down, he brought our usual order straight away, which just simply made our day every day. :) The room was cleaned every day, even on our last day, the pool area was kept clean and tidy all day and was such a lovely environment that even if we stayed there everyday, it would have been a great holiday! There was a pool bar open all day long and the temperature of the pool was also pleasant, the sun beds comfortable. The restaurants were also really clean and the presentation of the food was next level. All staff were so attentive, one day our room was being made up when we returned from breakfast so we said we will hang around and let them finish, and the cleaner walked around the hotel to find us to let us know when the room was ready for us to return. Nice little touches like this really made us feel comfortable and happy, we would 100% recommend this hotel! :)

Everything was perfect!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was very clean and recently renovated. The bedding smelled fresh, had a soft touch, and both the bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised that they still offer amenities, which is rare these days. They even provided a shower cap. Something my wife considers essential. She also really appreciated the attention to detail, especially the makeup towel, which made a big difference for her. The room and common areas are beautifully decorated, with special mention to the dining area, which was particularly charming. The staff was kind and welcoming throughout our stay.

Keep in mind that the church bells can be very loud, but it didn’t bother us since we already had plans to wake up early.

The hotel blends in perfectly with its surroundings, in the middle of a charming little square. The interior is very luxurious and well decorated. The room is a real plus with its size and luxurious bathroom. The hotel has all the necessary amenities. The staff are very friendly. They even prepared lunch for us the next morning, as we were taking off at 5am. The location is also perfect, being less than 5 minutes from the airport (without even hearing a single plane) and at the same time less than 20 minutes by car from the east of the island. The pool area is alors very pleasant, with a rooftop pool and a bar offering great happy hours.

The only drawback is that the music is too loud in the swimming pool area for those wishing to relax.
