Teresa and Jan are incredible hosts. Teresa and Jan gave us the best information possible to enable us to plan our visit around the area. Our room was so comfortable and we had a lovely warm welcome - it felt as if we were staying with friends.. Every morning we had the most delicious breakfast, with hams, cheeses, yogurts, cereals, breads - and we both relished the wonderful free-range scrambled eggs we had every day. Finishing our breakfast off with a coffee and pastel de nata was really indulgent - but we managed it. Everything about our stay was perfect and Teresa and Jan took time to help us in any way we needed. We would love to return and stay here.

It was lovely staying in this comfortable, homey spot. We loved having the opportunity to “pick the brains” of our host, Teresa, at breakfast each morning. She directed us to several places we would not have otherwise gone. (Bacalhoa Buddha Eden was a highlight of our trip!). It was also nice staying outside the hub of the tourism world, though it did mean that there were limited options for dinner nearby (though one good restaurant within walking distance). Breakfast was delicious.

We were there in the midst of many very rainy days and experienced a very musty smell one night. Not sure what one can do about it given how damp the world was, but if anyone is particularly sensitive, this could be an issue. It was not a problem after a day of less rain.

This was our favorite stay in our two weeks in Portugal! The hostesses were so friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and clean and well laid out. The breakfast every morning was delicious and plentiful. There was a lovely garden to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening (and even a couple of friendly kitties and dogs, if you're so inclined!) To add to the charm, The nearby church even provided quarter-hour chimes and hourly songs (but only until 10pm!) All in all, Casa Das Palmas was a quiet oasis in a lovely setting.

There was nothing.... truly, they've thought of everything

The hospitality was exceptional, with lots of attention to details, like fresh milk in the room refrigerator for my coffee or a sampling of the local aperitif, that made me feel like I was visiting a favorite sister or aunt. Teresa was especially helpful with all kinds of driving tips and service recommendations when I asked for them. The outdoor space was also inviting, There is private access to the outside space through the French doors in the room. Teresa and Jackie also had pets, but we're very careful to make sure I was comfortable with the level of exposure to them. I have no doubt I would not have come into contact with any pets if I didn't want to.

My stay was during an unusually warm January. The humidity level in my room was very high when I first arrived, causing a cool damp feeling in the air and in the towels. Once the heater and towel warmer were turned on, all became comfortable.

From the moment those white gates opened, we were embraced by the warmth and hospitality of Teresa and Janice and their lovely home. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the complimentary gininha in a little carafe in the room was a delightful surprise. Breakfast was very good, and my husband's gluten and lactose issues were accommodated. Great location for driving into the old town.

It was a little hard to find. At first we drove past it. The property is a lovely yellow and the gates are white ... might help to provide that information in the directions maybe?

This small inn is run with a personal touch by Theresa and Janice. The clean, quiet, and homey property (with secure, on-site parking) is but a short drive to the tourist center of Obidos, yet away from the crowds and traffic. Theresa offers a plentiful breakfast and was kind enough to make reservations for us at two very good local restaurants (one was just 50 meters away). We really appreciated their hospitality and how well-cared for the property and its guests were.

I am very glad I chose Casa das Palmas for my 2 night stay. The location was perfect for me and my room was very comfortable. Janice and Teresa made me feel right at home and were the perfect resource for exploring the area. The breakfast was fantastic, as everyone has mentioned. I need to return to Óbidos in a few weeks and won't even consider staying at another location. Thanks for everything!

The location was excellent as was both our hosts. The property was close to where we wanted to visit, Obidos and Caldas da Rainha. Breakfast was great, in fact I couldn’t find anything to complain about. Certainly nothing negative. Teresa and Janice were the perfect hosts, friendly, welcoming and very helpful. They took time to speak to us and gave us valuable information about the area.

First of all the hosts are fantastic, Teresa and Janice are so great and helpful, we immediately felt at home The breakfast was amazing and tasty, we mentioned we're vegetarian the room was exceptionally clean the guesthouse is not located in the old city Obidos but it gives you a quiet stay in the village area. we recommend to have a car, or take a taxi to the touristic area, it's only 4 min+- by car. we got great recommendations from the hosts for everything we asked. we had a lovely time at Casa das palmas

Lovely authentic Portuguese B&B. It’s in a small hamlet a few minutes drive from Óbidos and Caldas de Rainha. There’s a good restaurant 50 metres down the road. Theresa and Janice are wonderful caring hosts. We loved the 2 dogs and cats, made us feel at home. Delicious breakfast every morning with lots of choice. Very quiet locale and you cannot hear the other guests in your room. Thanks again for a great visit.
