There was plenty of free parking nearby and the location was very close to the main streets. The bed was very comfy. The staff were fantastic - great communication. and very friendly. Beautiful building with loads of history

No hand soap in the bathroom, and only 1/2 a toilet roll provided. Breakfast is quite expensive. There was not much choice although to be fair there may have been more but it was too crowded to see

The hotel was comfortable and very conveniently located. The breakfast was quite pleasant and a good value. We found parking pretty easily on the street without even needing to use the hotel's parking lot. The best thing is that I was sick as a dog when I arrived at the hotel, and the front desk staff immediately got on their phones and found a doctor who would see me within an hour! I will always be grateful for that magnificent help. Within a few hours I was at a pharmacy getting some antibiotics that I desperately needed. As an American, I did not know quite how to access the health system so this was very important to me. The staff were super pleasant through the whole time. Very nice small intimate hotel with friendly folks and comfy rooms. Noise was not a problem at all. Even though our room was directly opposite the front desk right on the ground floor! Thanks again to the staff at the hotel Blason!!!!!

Hôtel Le Blason is a delightful small hotel in an excellent location in Amboise. When we arrived we were advised that our room was on the first floor and as the hotel is in a very old yet attractive, quaint building there was no elevator. The staircase to the room was very steep and narrow and as we had just arrived from a lengthy flight from Australia we had not yet opened our very large suitcases. Thus carrying them upstairs would be a challenge in addition to which I have persistent vertigo. While we would have normally been okay with an upstairs room on this occasion my husband asked the receptionist if there was a ground floor room. Damien the incredibly helpful receptionist was quick to find a solution and immediately offered us a beautiful room on the ground floor at the rear of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and a welcome place to relax and sleep after our lengthy journey. Breakfast was very good - a selection of croissants, bread, pastries, fruit, juice etc. A perfect continental breakfast plus scrambled eggs. Damien at the front desk was attentive and always helpful with advice and recommendations. We would thoroughly recommend staying at Hôtel Le Blason in Amboise.

This hotel is obviously strategically located in the historical downtown of Amboise. 5 minutes walk from the castle and 15 min walk to the Clos Lucé. Rooms are not huge but clean and with AC. Remember this building was built during the 15th century. We were always able to park the car right in front of the hotel and for free, so that was pretty surprising considering the location, but June is not the busiest season. Breakfast is very good. The restaurant behind the hotel (l alliance) is exceptional and you can access it directly.

Great location, historic building, comfortable bed, good breakfast, very good room cleaning and upkeep (we were there for a week) powerful air conditioning, extremely nice and harmonious staff, and REASONABLE PRICE. Not fancy but very workable and pleasant. In front of a lovely tree-lined public parking lot. Oh, and there’s a kettle! Bring your own coffee if that’s a thing with you.

The dark carpeted steps were a bit weird, but the staff kept them clean.

Location was perfect for exploring center of town, restaurants, shopping, chateaux etc. Too far from train station for me, I was on foot & had to walk it every day. Reliable taxis are available though & the walk over the Loire is beautiful. Breakfast was perfect, even scrambled eggs! Very clean. Staff very helpful & friendly when I had to cancel my last night & when I got blisters from walking. Pharmacy was near & also helpful.

Too far from train. It’s ok though if you don’t have to walk it every day. Soap dispenser in shower came unglued but was still useable so I didn’t nag to get it fixed.

A very warm welcome from the gentleman on the reception desk. The hotel is a very old building: built in 1492 I was told, and was originally a blacksmith's workshop. As such the rooms are accessible by staircase only and the stairs are quite steep. It's a lovely quaint hotel and has kept many of it's original features. Our room was quite compact but it had a huge comfortable bed, was exceptionally clean and we had a lovely view onto a tree-lined park area. We were pleased to make use of the secure parking facility for our motorbike. Excellent. The hotel is just a short 5-10 minute stroll from the bustling town, restaurants and the Chateau. Thoroughly recommend.

Everything was good here, we enjoyed our one night stay. I would just note though that the stairs may be a slight issue for those with mobility issues.

Location was very central and there was free parking in the street outside.

Although we just booked a double our room was very small and had few power sockets. Felt more like we were caravanning then staying in a hotel the room was very claustrophobic. We were also disappointed that there was no guest lounge area and the patio area was only big enough to seat four. Would recommend if you’re on a budget and are happy to spend all your time out of the hotel. I think the ‘quirky’ pictures of rooms used a bit of ‘artistic licence’ we found our room very bland.

Friendly and helpful reception. A small but nice room on the second floor, with a comfortable bed. Decent shower - good flow rate and temperature Excellent breakfast in the dining room.

The notice that we were asked to photograph with our phones to record the night entry code was a little tatty and gave a poor impression - I would suggest producing a properly laminated sheet instead - because the hotel was very good.

The hotel is very well located in a very pretty town that is well worth visiting. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The price of an overnight stay was very reasonable (in October). The hotel is an old characterful building but the room we stayed in had a great, recently modernised bathroom. There is secure parking in a nearby garage (for 8 euros) which was very useful for us as it meant we did not have to unload the baggage from a very full car. Strongly recommended. No complaints.
