This is a really nice place, I liked it a lot. I stayed in a 4-bed women's dorm. The rooms are spacious and there is plenty of space for guests and their belongings. Nice to have an ensuite bathroom. It was also nice that combination locks are provided for the lockers in the dorm rooms, so guests don't need to bring their own. The common areas (kitchen, dining area) are really nice and well-equipped. The place is cool and kinda stylish, albeit in an understated way. Staff were very friendly.
Bunk beds are kind of weird - there is a TON of space between the lower bunk and the upper bunk, and for the unfortunate person sleeping in the upper bunk, you're hitting your head on the ceiling!

Location, parking was plentiful and room size. It was nice there was a fridge and microwave. There was a nice grassy area for my dog. Check out was at 11, which was nice to not be rushed out in the morning.
It felt like it was just turned over from management companies and there were some pieces that didn't quite align yet. The check in doc was for a dbl queen room but I booked a king so I was confused. The sheets were on inside out, which felt weird. There was glittery stickers in the shower which made me question if it was cleaned.

The Junction Hotel and Hostel is super clean with an incredible staff that is always super friendly, welcoming and very helpful. We met a lot of great guests while staying the week from cool backpackers, bikers and a group of conservationists working on great projects in Durango. I have to say I’m a super light sleeper and had no problems with the fan or a travel noise maker going. Great people and great stay! Thanks for all you do, Junction Hotel and Hostel! You are very much needed and in a very cool creekside location! Just a walk or bike ride to the river trail, the library, restaurants, grocery and downtown!

This hotel is one of the most affordable places to stay in the entire area. Located right downtown, it's ideally situated near the river and trails, making it easy to explore. The Durango-Silverton train is just a 3-minute drive or a 15-minute walk away. There's plenty of parking available, which is a big plus. We checked in late, around midnight, and the communication was excellent—the instructions were clear and easy to follow. You get exactly what you pay for here—nothing fancy, but a comfortable and convenient stay at a great price!
The rooms need more improvement, but the price justifies it. So, I don't see any cons to it.

Location was great. Staff excellent-- very friendly with my special needs son.
Floor, particularly floor along tub up to door frame, was very dirty. I relish sleeping in on vacation. Rooms usually dark with black out curtains allowing me to enjoy this. Curtains in our room didn't even completely cover the windows. The ice machine was broken. Even if it wasn't, the ice bucket was "recycled, " and didn't even appear to be washed.

Room was large and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. There was nice little pool. Free hot coffee in the morning and the kitchen and common room were clean and well-stocked. There is a creek behind the property with some tables (we didn't use it, but it looked like a nice place to picnic). I only stayed one night but I think for longer-term stays, it would increase in value.
Very minor nitpicks: Mattress was a little softer than I would have liked and the bed frames (which looked new) seemed a bit flimsy.

I was very grateful that there is a hostel in Durango and it is right on Main Street, The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen area was very spacious.
Though the hostel is located on Main Street it is farther out then I had expected and not really in the "Downtown" area. The shared bathroom was nice and convenient though to get water running it takes a lot of muscle as the handle needed to be pulled hard.

The staff here were very helpful and kind. We enjoyed the fresh coffee in the lobby in the morning. The pool looked great, though with a one night stay and getting in a bit late we did not get in it. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We got a non hostel room so we were secluded from others.
For the price we did not have a complaint. We thought it was a very nice place to stay.

The room was quiet and, although on the second floor, easily accessible from the parking lot. We were staying two days because we were riding the Durango Silverton Railroad and wanted to be close enough not to have to rush in the morning and not to have far to go, after the ride. The office staff was very helpful with directions around town.
