We had a wonderful stay at The Station Hotel, while visiting friends in the neighbouring village. The hotel is spotless and Dorothy clearly takes great pride in running it, working tirelessly to ensure everything is just right. She even went out of her way to arrange a vegetarian option, for one of our group. After check-out, we realised we had left an item behind, Dorothy promptly liaised with the housekeeping team, located it and set it aside for us to collect, going the extra mile, which truly makes this hotel a special find. Our room was tastefully decorated, with a lovely shower in the bathroom. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, giving us a great night’s sleep. Tea-making facilities were also provided, what more could you ask for. The location is ideal: just a short stroll into Ellon town centre and only a few minutes walk from the nearest bus stop. If we’re back in the area visiting friends, we wouldn’t hesitate to book The Station Hotel in Ellon again.

Extremely accommodating. Initially wanted to check in an hour earlier and they very politely obliged. However, we had to call and say that we would no longer be checking in early as we stopped to do more sightseeing than expected. We were told that we can arrive whenever we wanted as our room was ready for us. On the morning we departed, they made us each a breakfast bap to take with us on the road as we were not able to stay for breakfast.

The wi-fi was not working, but it may have been affected by the storm. My husband is very tall and complained that the bed was a bit too small for him, but it was perfect for me and I slept like a baby.

The breakfast was perfectly adequate -- good selection to choose from, piping hot and not a bit greasy, the bedroom was exceptional, spotlessly clean, well serviced, etc, and very comfortable beds. The 'Arches' restaurant provided excellent value for money & choice - freshly cooked food served by the extremely friendly & efficient young waitress, Evelyn-- nothing was too much trouble. We also had a drink in the bar, again, a good selection of ales, etc. The hotel is extremely well run by Owner Dorothy and her Son; ably assisted by their attentive and enthusiastic staff. We certainly would have no hesitation in recommending the Station Hotel to anyone: We hope to stay there again probably next year. (God willing).

How quickly the time passed, and it was time for home.

We are very active pensioners, aged 77, and have stayed before at this hotel and on both occasions the owner has been excellent at meeting our requirements. It doesn't have a lift to reach the rooms, however, being fit and agile did not deter us from using the stairs and booking the rooms. The staff would help with any baggage if we needed a hand. We love porridge and this was excellent.

More choice for the breakfast, as it was either a full English/Scottish breakfast or a variation on how you wanted eggs, simply scrambled, poached or fried. We love a change if you are staying more than a couple of nights, for example a continental breakfast would be a pleasant change.

Everything here was excellent.The cleanliness of the hotel overall was absolutely excellent which to me is very important. I got a lovely welcome from the owner on arrival who guided me to my room. The room was a single room and very well appointed indeed. Carpets throughout the hotel were immaculate and this was the case in the room also. I had a wardrobe, desk with drawers with a flat screen TV , a bed side cabinet and great lighting. The beautiful bathroom with walk in double sized shower was very hygienic, the shower was excellent as was the WC. Food was of a very high standard and was delicious. I ate here every night and it was also very well priced and the portions generous. The Fillet steaks were huge and cooked to perfection. It's very hard to find any criticism of the hotel at all even of a constructive nature. I did ask for an additional bath towel which I was given immediately and I received 2 towels each time they were replaced .

Having to leave and the thought of missing those wonderful meals .

We felt the photos online did not do this place justice. Beautiful interior, very old-timey rather than dated. The staff were super helpful and friendly! Photos cannot capture the feeling of being in this hotel. 10/10 will be booking here again when we’re visit Aberdeen again. Without a doubt my most favourite and now treasured hotel stay. Thank you to the staff and Dorothy for going above and beyond any expectations we could have possibly had.

This is a wonderful old hotel. It's well maintained and the 3 rooms we had were all very comfortable. Breakfast is included, perfectly cooked to order and delicious. The staff were kind, friendly and very helpful. Ample parking too. We had dinner one night in Arches restaurant and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Great value for money for our stay and we highly recommend the Station Hotel.

Not a single thing.

The Station Hotel was a great surprise to me; it was very friendly, and the rooms were excellent. If we needed any additional towels, it was not a problem; the staff went and got them there, and then there was no long waiting. We had breakfast every morning of our three-day stay it was excellent food tasted great good start to the day. Our room was spacious and clean. tea and coffee making service was in the room. Hotel is located of the street which makes it quite and peaceful place to stay. Great Place to stay and great value. I will be back.

Hotel is spotless, rooms are large, bright, cosie and the beds are extremely comfortable. The staff are exceptional, friendly and inviting. The restaurant is outstanding, meals are second to none. The breakfast was the perfect start to the day, fresh coffee, well prepared food. They even had gluten free options. The hotel is in a quiet area, which is what we were looking for, it is also a short walk to the shops, café's and bars. The bar is well stocked, there is a pool table and juke box. All in all, it was a great stay, and we will happily be going back.
