The location in an enchanting forest in the middle of a winter wonderland and away from the crowds and lights of the nearby town of Akaslompolo (though not too far as to make it a long drive) was excellent for peaceful relaxation and observation of the northern lights. The staff were excellent and made every effort to accommodate to our needs and special requests. The pirate sauna/jacuzzi and ice hole were a delight!

The breakfast was excellent, though a bit of variety would be nice for guests like us who stay for several days.

We had a wonderful experience staying in Arctic Skylight Lodge. The cabin is lovely and comfortable, and the experience of sleeping under the glass roof is absolutely amazing. We loved the feeling of being surrounded by the forest while inside, and didn't even want to close the curtains. There is an option to entirely block the view from neighbours, but we wanted to keep it as open as possible. In the evening we just laid in the bed and looked at the starry sky on top of us, unfortunately no Northern Lights at that night, but we managed to see 2 falling stars! The cabin is not extremely spacious, but it is pleasant in size, not tiny. Nice furniture, comfy bed and quality bedlinen. Also extra credits to the restaurant, the food was amazing. Would definitely go again!

There was a bit of unpleasant smell in the toilet, but it wasn't a big deal. It was difficult to find a plug to charge the phone, there was none near the bed, so you have to leave the phone at the desk.

We spent one night in late March at Arctic Skylodge and it was magical. The cabin was warm, the bed was incredibly comfortable and we saw a little bit of aurora activity! So nice that you don’t have to go outside to see them. You can see the entire sky from the glass cabin. Breakfast was delicious and they also have gluten free options. We unfortunately didn’t get to have dinner here as the chef was unwell. But we did get a good tip from the receptionist to eat at Los Lompolo’s - a mix of Finnish and Mexican cuisine. It was delicious (get the churros!).

We were travelling with our EV and it would have been good if Arctic Skylodge had a car charger as there are only three fast chargers in Äkäslompolo and they were all taken when we went to charge. Tip: if you have a lot of stuff, it’s best to drive down to your cabin and unload rather than trying to take everything down the hill in the snow to your cabin. We were the second last cabin so it was quite far from reception.

Very nice and calm location. Views from the cabin were amazing and could see the norther lights from them. Very friendly staff. We booked the 3-course dinner which was delicious and the space is cozy. Breakfast was also delicious and with lots of choices

We booked the finnish sauna which didnt met the expectations. The facilities were a bit far from the cabins, with no lighting at all on the way so it was very confusing to reach there and not safe at all with no lights and snow/ice all over. The jacuzzi was quite cold so we didn't use it; I would recommend to not offer its service if it can't be warm enough at very low temperatures. You need to carry your own towel from the room to be used in the sauna and then come back in the cold weather with a wet towel if you want to use it when back in your room (which got frozen on the way back to the room at -30 degrees). No glasses or drinking water available in the sauna facilities. In my opinion, for the price paid, this experience should be much improved to be worth it.

Beeakfast was so colourful and healthy varity of fruits, salads, salami, youghart and granola with berry jam, and the bread basket was so attractive with different selection of croissant and brown bread. We had selection of berry juices, tea and coffee. The breakfast was made special for us. We informed them of the convinent time.

We needed to be advised the was no wifi in the room prior, however you can access wifi at the lobby. You have to pay to access Hot tub and suana and book it prior to prepare it, it’s not includes in the package if you only book a room! Otherwise it was an amazing experince!

Beautiful accommodation in a serene environment. Breakfast included was really good. Me and my boyfriend had dinner at their restaurant as well, also very much recommended!

I think the price is a bit too high for what you get. The accommodation is relatively small and basic (it doesn't have a kitchenette for example). We also didn't use the sauna, because that was another €150 extra for 1.5 hours. I think there are many other accommodations that have a sauna included and cost less, but we only stayed for 1 night so it was a cool experience anyhow!

Beautiful location and rooms. Bed/linens are very comfortable and bathrooms are snug but it isn’t really a problem. Waking up surrounded by wintery trees in a warm room can’t be beat, even if clouds obscured the sky during our stay. Sauna and dinner are also worth the add’l cost. Staff were excellent!

A lot of the value is tied up in being able to enjoy the sky from your bed - nothing the Lodge can do about the weather, but the amenities do not match the cost on their own when the weather is poor. Rooms are closer together than they appear in pics, and curtains have to be closed on the sides or others can see in from their rooms/vice versa.

Overall, very clean and the pictures showed a true picture of the accommodation. The restaurant and food were very good and definitely worth the money.

The air in the room is very dry, as the main source of the heating was the AC. The room was very well isolated, which usually is a plus. But it was maybe too good, as the room temperature was really high, especially for sleeping.

The location was perfect. It was far enough away from the road but not remote. The entire staff was delightful, informative and made us feel at home. The food was top notch - could deserve a Michelin rating!

Access to our cabin and the sauna/hot tub was a bit precarious. When we commented about the ice near our door they immediately cleared that but the road to and from slippery. We did manage though when we mentioned it and they provided walking sticks.

We were lucky to see strong auroras from our bedroom - spectacular! Breakfast had all you could wish for, including a choice of freshly cooked options. Dinner was superb in both quality and presentation. Skiing track passes right behind the property. Super friendly and helpful staff.

Location is some 5km outside Äkäslompolo, best reached by car.
