Our recent stay at Tsitsikamma Village Inn was nothing short of magical — a perfect blend of historic charm, natural beauty, and warm, welcoming service that made us feel instantly at home. The Inn is laid out like a quaint little village, with each room designed in a unique architectural style reflecting South Africa’s colonial past. Our room was cozy, spotlessly clean, and full of character, making it feel like we’d stepped into another era — but with all the modern comforts you'd hope for. Breakfast was a real treat. The options were plentiful — from fresh fruit and pastries to hearty cooked dishes and the best coffee we had on the Garden Route. Sitting out in the peaceful garden as the village woke up was the perfect way to start each day. One of the true highlights of our stay was dinner at Marilyn’s 60s Diner. The retro décor — with bright neon lights, vintage cars and motorcycles, and a soundtrack of 60s hits — was so fun and unexpected. But what made the evening truly special was Rosy, our server. She was absolutely exceptional — warm, attentive, and full of personality. She made us feel like VIPs, recommending the best dishes (the ribs were out of this world!) and making sure every detail was perfect. Rosy brought such energy and joy to the experience that we won’t soon forget her! The location is ideal for exploring the Tsitsikamma National Park with its iconic suspension bridge, ancient forests, and incredible hiking trails. The staff at the Inn were more than happy to help with directions, activity bookings, and personal recommendations. What sets Tsitsikamma Village Inn apart is how it combines nostalgia and character with genuine, heartfelt hospitality. It doesn’t just offer a place to sleep — it offers a story, an atmosphere, and a connection to the people and culture of the area. Five stars without a doubt — and a huge thank you to Rosy and the entire team for making our stay so memorable. We can’t wait to return!

What I loved most about the property was how peaceful and beautiful it was. The surroundings were serene, with a calm atmosphere that instantly made me feel relaxed. The setting felt like a hidden gem—quiet, scenic, and perfect for a getaway.
The only thing I felt could be improved was the availability of certain amenities. For example, having an iron available would have made things a lot more convenient. It’s a small detail, but it would’ve definitely added to the overall comfort of the stay.

The Inn is extremely central to all activities and has a range of restaurants on the actual property that makes deciding on where to eat quite easy for the lazy traveler. Check-in was easy and quick and the staff absolutely lovely. On one misty morning we were awoken by 2 baboons in our bedroom, looting for snacks. This was petrifying and hilarious at the same time as they seemed to pose no risk, however a warning from the Inn that this is a common occurrence would have been welcomed. Breakfast was delicious every morning, especially the flapkacks.
The property has a slave bell that has been restored and is rung every now and again by children who do not know the significance of what the slave bell was created for. As a brown traveler, it is always jarring seeing slave bells on properties/ previous plantations in South Africa. A quick perusal of the website of the Inn, shows the Inn advertising that folks can get married under the slave bell. While there's lots to unpack here, it is not only the Village Inn that still has slavel bells in use, but something we see across the country.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this accommodation, and we couldn't be more pleased with my experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The room was not only charming but also immaculately clean, with crisp linens that added a touch of luxury to my stay. What truly made the difference was the beautiful view from my room, overlooking a well-maintained garden. It provided a serene and picturesque backdrop that enhanced the overall atmosphere. Throughout my time here, the friendly and attentive staff consistently demonstrated a commitment to exceptional service. Their genuine hospitality made me feel like a valued guest, and I appreciated their willingness to go the extra mile to ensure a memorable stay. In conclusion, I highly recommend this accommodation to anyone seeking a pleasant and memorable experience. From the welcoming staff to the lovely room and delicious breakfast options, every aspect of my stay exceeded expectations. I look forward to returning in the future.

The place is very tranquil, set in lovely grounds and the room that we had in the old stables was perfect for a couple of nights. The stretch of road the hotel itself is on is extremely quiet but has most of the things you need and you'll spend most of your time on trips or excursions elsewhere using this hotel as a base which makes it absolutely perfect for how it is priced.
The breakfast and coffee was below standards at other hotels we stayed at on garden route but still fine for a couple of days. Everything else was spot on.

Very interesting location, close to lots of places to eat and activities. The old pub was very charming (thanks Roderick for lighting the fireplace for us). The staff were very friendly and the rooms were comfortable and clean.
The shower head in our room was missing, but this didn't bother us too much. The ou de Martha restaurant and the hunters pub have the same menu and it was a little limited, but the food was still very good.

We were so impressed by Tsitsikamma Village Inn! The gardens are beautiful, the "cabins" are so charming and the food was delicious and abundant. Everywhere I looked was beauty. The staff was so helpful and friendly. When we checked in we noticed one of the light bulbs needed to be replaced. We walked to reception to ask them to replace it. Before we returned to our room, a staff member was waiting at our door ready to fix the problem. Very effienct and friendly. We loved our stay here!

Stunning little town, the property is in the heart of it with walking distance to all the adventure activities such as segways, scootours and ziplining. In terms of dining there arent that many great options but one of the best ones are on site at Tsitsikamma Village Inn or next door at the dinner. Really loved this quirky town.

Loved the friendly staff and the breakfast was awesome. Would highly recommend to friends. I would suggest adding spa services maybe as sometimes a person just needs it.... the other place does not offer wide variety
No fridge in room to store water and cooldrinks but other than that had a wonderful time

The unique architecture of the whole Village Inn was really nice. The room was clean and spacious. Staff was great and breakfast was really good. We asked for laundry at 8pm and got it back before 8am next day - excellent service! All in all very happy with our stay!
Bed was a bit hard and the particular room we were staying in was a bit bare when it comes to walls/decor. Everything was functional though.
