I really liked the hotel. I could check in early after a long flight. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are great, spacious shower, beds are comfortable. They even leave you two bottles of water every day, complimentary. It's a really nice touch. The breakfast is very good with lots of choices - Asian, Western, pastry, cheeses and cold cuts, vegetables, fruits etc etc'. They also have an omelet station, where you can ask for eggs anyway you want. Location is very good, right in the middle of Thamel, touristic and commercial.

I am a member and fan of the Marriott group, Aloft is a new concept I had not yet come across, and I am well impressed. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The facilities were great, the food good quality, the service spectacular. The staff is very well trained and extremely helpful. The hotel has a lot to offer. It is also almost entirely accessible, which was useful as I was using crutches. They are also clearly a very inclusive employer, which I appreciate and commend. I cannot fault it, and hugely recommend it. I will be back.

It was all great, maybe a minor suggestion, given the quality of food offered at breakfast, it would be good to have fresh bread on offer, rather than just the packed loaf.

The room was what I needed returning from a week long hike. Room had a great view of the city, bed was big and comfortable. Hot water readily available in the shower with all the amenities provided. Breakfast buffett was a huge and delicious spread. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was located right in the heart of Thamel, easy walking to distance to shops and bars and restaurants.

The hot water in the shower could have been hotter. Also, a couch in the room would be preferable as an area to lounge without having to jump into bed.

I was warmly welcomed upon arrival at the Aloft Thamel Kathmandu, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. The atmosphere of the hotel made me feel very comfortable and at ease. The food was also delicious, and I really enjoyed every meal. Concierge staff Rishav, Roshan P., and Nama were especially helpful and friendly, making my stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely come back here again!

I have nothing to add here. Everything was to my convenience.

Very pleasant and comfy European style hotel. The staff was very responsive and they greeted us with Namaste every time we met them which added a specific touch. The inside pool and SPA center are really great especially after a long day of walking through the bustling city. From what I heard it's the tallest building in the city so it provides almost a bird's-eye view at the city.

The variety of western/non spicy and plain food could be better.

Room (6th floor) was quiet and well proportioned.

The shower facilities in the bedroom needs redesigning. It is impossible to turn on the water without getting a cold shower. The controls are behind the door and not accessible from the outside. Not a difficult problem to resolve - the glass screen needs handing. Our room had a ceiling mounted shower head but no hand held unit (photos show both).

Location of the hotel is excellent and my family felt safe at all times. I like the idea that my teenagers felt safe enough to walk out to the nearby retail shops and restaurants to do their own shopping and try different cuisines. There are also many ATM machines within the hotel compound (surrounded by security personnel) for easy withdrawal of cash. Also lots of money exchangers just outside the compound. Their concierge service is excellent with their advice and accommodating travel arrangements within the city.

I did not like the boiled meats served at their buffet breakfast, They're rather tasteless. When I requested a half day extension on my last day because my flight to Kuala Lumpur was only departing at 9:30pm, the reception manager offered me a rate of USD85 nett to which I accepted. But when my invoice was issued, they added the luxury tax of 2% and VAT of 13% on my bill. The staff claimed this was standard procedure and they cannot refigure on their system. They why mention and offer nett in the first place?

Having lived in Nepal for many years I know all the hotels and Hyatt has always been the best, but the problem with the Hyatt is it's so far away from everytijt which is good if you want to have a break from the nepalness of everything but bad if you wanto base yourself centrally and do things in Kathmandu through the day This is a 4-5 star in thamel, the quality of the rooms is better than almost all the other hotels around and this is also a Marriot hotel so another option if you don't want to go for 3 star Fairfield. So if you want to pay the higher price for the better hotel in thamel this is the best pick at the moment. There are better hotels but they are not located in thamel.

The breakfast area was full of Indians who don't seem to know that anyone else is there so they take up a lot of space and make a lot of noise and crowd around the buffet like they are queuing up for the bank. They behave like the food with run out and push in and act weirdly, I saw them drop the spoons on the floor and make a racket with the kids they were so uptight and affraid about the whole experience.

Did not like the first check-in counter at ground floor staff's interaction with us. He thought we were locals and started shouting when we went for shopping and came back to hotel. We were stopped and asked too many questions. Where are you going? Do you live here? We felt awkward being treated like as if we were some imposters. It should not have happened. And when we checked out from the hotel, we were asked whether you are checking out, what's the room number. As if we didn't pay our bills and running away. These things do not create a good image of the hotel. I'm sure this would not have happened to white people as they are seen more civilized and richer than people with colour and dark skin.

Location of the hotel near Thamel with shops and restaurant and near the airport was convenient. The hotel is new, modern and elegant. Staff was welcoming and professional.

Swimming pool water and its area were quite cold and dark, moreover, I would expect jacuzzi and sauna next to the pool, not at the ground floor with the gym.
