Awesome stay! Incredibly convenient to the bus/train station, Quattro Canti and the Ballaro street markets. Property was on a quiet street just a block off Via Maqueda. Absolutely wonderful hostess (Mariella) let us drop our bags early and welcomed us with an espresso (which I needed after a long bus ride from Siracusa). Our room was spotless and well appointed, beds were very comfortable, and breakfast the next day was amazing - so much to choose from and all homemade!

The larger Ballaro neighborhood felt a little rough around the edges, but the small street of Vicolo Chiarandà was incredibly clean and quiet, as was Vicolo del Romito (which our little balcony looked out over).

The room, location and breakfast was simply perfect. Mariella is an amazing host who takes a good care of the guests. She makes your stay comfortable and delicious. I will never forget these lemon cookies ;) Room is very clean and quite spacious. It’s really close to the center and all the monuments you should see during the stay. Mariella prepares a delicious breakfast every day and tries to serve typical sicilian food. She provides also some tourist guides in the room and of course lots of information about the Palermo and other close cities.

We had the most wonderful stay at Ballarooms in Palermo. Mariella was the most wonderful host! Each day we had the most stunning breakfast goods, anything that was baked was made by Mariella and she is the most incredible cook. She had even made a selection of jams which were delicious too. She was so helpful for recommendations and help with planning travel plans. The rooms themselves are very modern, cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The area was quiet. It really did set the bar so high for the rest of our stay in Sicily (and no-one met these very high standards). If we come back to Palermo we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. Thank you Mariella! A few people have mentioned concerns about the area, we had no issues - it's just a busy city with lots of people about late at night. We didn't feel unsafe at any point. We had a slight difficulty finding the place, which was on us as we just relied on Google Maps once we'd got there - I'd advise checking the pictures in the listing and it is on Viocolo Chiaranda. The hostess Mariella treated all the guests like family, very welcoming and obliging. The rooms were well appointed, cool and quiet. Breakfast was not only a feast for the eyes but wholesome and delicious. My partner is gluten intolerant, and mariella produced homemade GF cakes and produce fresh daily. The range of jams, pickles, and meats was great. The area is 3 minutes from the main train and bus station and 5 minutes from palermo Central. We had 2 stops of 3 days here and would recommend Mariella and Ballarooms B&B to all.

Enjoyed all, nothing to dislike.

The stay was exceptional, with immediate offers on arrival from Mariella of coffees and many tasty homemade pastries and biscuits. She made us feel right at home and took an interest in how each day went and helped us with advice on navigating through the various markets. Everywhere in Palermo was accessible by foot from the accommodation, and the airport shuttle from Palermo Centrale bus station was a 6 minute walk away. The breakfast contains a delicious range of Sicilian specialities many of which are homemade daily.

The location is tucked away on a quiet street but Palermo can be a lively city at night time.

Mariella, was undoubtedly, the best of it all. She is very kind, attentive and prepares amazing breakfasts in the morning! Besides that, the room was spacious, comfortable, spotless and quiet. A plus: air conditioner and fridge in the room, but both very (very!) silent, which is not the case in most places

Although the apartment is very conveniently located, close to bus/train station and main attractions in the historic center, it felt a bit unsafe. For people coming by car: the apartment is located within the ZLT. Hence, they will have to park elsewhere

Once again I had the pleasure of staying at Ballarooms in Palermo. This B&B is centrally located in a quiet side street, very close to the long and beautiful pedestrian street, Via Marqueda, where many of the city's attractions are located. At the same time, only a 5-minute walk from the bus and the central train station. The excellent hostess takes good care of her guests and her homemade cakes and delicacies for breakfast are alone good enough reason to choose this option.

Location is perfect. Breakfast is gorgeous and full of local products. Room/bed/bathroom are excellent and clean. Mariella-lady of the house is very friendly & always ready to help / very responsive even by phone/chat.

Although we needed to confirm the flightnr, our driver for transfer airport to the B&B was gone as the plane had 4 hours delay. --> If flight nr is known, the delay is visible, no? Also driver did not speak 1 word of English/French.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, Mariella made us feel at home. She couldn’t do enough for us and made sure we had everything we needed. Her breakfasts were incredible with homemade cakes and sweets, along with local delicacies. The location was excellent; just on the edge of the historical centre so an easy 5 minute walk to shops, restaurants and markets.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

B and B Palermo is ideally situated, a 7 minute walk from the trains station and 5 minutes from the Old Town. Almost ideally placed to avoid the noise at night. Mariella was the perfect host, the rooms were spotless and the breakfast wide ranging from your typical meats and cheese, to a wonderful selection of cakes, biscuits, jams etc all home and quite stupendous. Mariella is very engaging and a wonderful host who goes the extra mile. Great value would highly recommend. For Palermo the Cathedral and Botanical Gardens were my highlights.
