Hospitality ,cleanliness was very good.The staff are very responsive.Housekeeping services are excellent.the property is beautiful for a relaxed holiday.Food was very good.Will love to visit again

The hidden taxes of more than 200 dollars for 3 nights in off season period .this amount was not clearly mentioned on Booking.com..Had to pay about 30 percent more than the rates on booking.com eventually due to these taxes.The exact amount including taxes etc needs to be shown during booking.Transparency in this regard would be great.

From the moment I arrived, the service exceeded all expectations. The staff was warm, professional, and attentive to every detail. Check-in was seamless, and I was even offered a welcome drink, which was a lovely touch. The room was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable, with thoughtful amenities . Housekeeping maintained the room perfectly throughout my visit. I was also impressed by the dining options. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of fresh, delicious options, and dinner at the hotel restaurant was a culinary delight. The waitstaff was knowledgeable and courteous, making every meal an experience.

As expected of Taj Hotels, a luxury hotel with great service. Rooms are spacious, modern (we stayed in the new wing), and right on the swimmable beach. Hotel is a luxury experience, with staff going the extra mile to please, with special mention to Nilusha (who proactively ensured our experience from check-in to check-out, was exceptional), and Dalip Singh (the head chef who understood our diet and made special meals to surprise us), and Asiri (who waited on us for every meal, truly personal attention). Luxury, relaxing getaway.

Wish the gym was bigger and more equipped. And suggest the hotel could have better entertainment at night, to provide for those wanting an evening social.

Taj was a real highlight of our 3 weeks in Sri Lanka. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff and assisted to the lounge while we waited for our room to be ready. The rooms themselves are well equipped with everything we needed as a 5 star resort should be. Prior to Taj, we had stayed at other 4 and 5 star resorts throughout Sri Lanka. We felt they were not in line with international standards and the staff really lacked quality service. . Taj Bentota Resort and Spa exceeded our expectations so we were pleasantly surprised. Pool on site is wonderful, with gorgeous views over the sea and manicured gardens. We didn't have issues getting a lounge for the 4 of us. Pool towels are readily available as is service available alongside the pool. We enjoyed all our meals at the restaurants, bars and poolside. The resort itelsef has plenty to do if you dont plan on leaving.

The bed provided for our child was worn. The mattress was thin and springs could be felt making it an uncomfortable sleep for them.

Very friendly and always ready to help staff. Very tasty breakfasts. Good cleaning in the room. Good air conditioning, comfortable bed, there was enough space in the room to put the child on the mattress. Good beaches, you can walk along the shore. To the right of the exit to the sea there is an excellent beach for children, the bottom relief cuts the waves very strongly, and there is shallow (up to the middle of the shin of an adult), children can swim comfortably even in strong waves.

The sea was constantly stormy, there was less time to swim than expected. Probably the end of October is not the best time to visit this hotel.

The setting is sublime with a lovely clean beach. The staff were just lovely (as, in truth, they are everywhere in Sri Lanka) The pool is great. The bed was comfortable

We booked a sea view room and yes, it had a sea view but really only partial as we were on the third floor and there are quite a lot of shrubs blocking the view. Not a big deal though. The room was fine but the bathroom was very dated and had an over bath shower which is not good really. Also, the bathroom was divided from the bedroom with a transparent glass panel which had a blind to lower for privacy. The bath/shower was adjacent to this so the blind was getting rather black in places. Having said that the room cleaner was excellent.

Staff were excellent, especially Sam and Terrance! But every member of staff was very attuned to your needs and never came off as overbearing which is a very skilful balance to pull off! We liked that you could shut the blinds for full privacy in the ensuite, some hotels don't allow complete privacy so it was appreciated that we had the option.

The layout of the hotel was a bit dated and could be difficult to find your way around sometimes. Clearer guidance on where things like the oriental pavilion and spa etc. are located would help. However, this is a small suggestion and doesn't detract from the experience as we had a great time exploring the hotel.

Staff - Highly professional, go extra mile for helping its customers, whether it is front desk, restaurants, house keeping. Few names coming to mind are Hassani from front desk, Parameswar Gowda and Ravindra from Restaurants. They made our stay at the hotel a memorable and wonderful experiences. Restaurants - Most of the authentic Indian foods are available and in great taste. Hotel location - It is bit far from the city, but worth once you reach there for a peaceful and calm holidaying.

Very pleasant place to stay, amazing views from the room (ocean & swimming pool), swimming pool facilities, breakfast, overall service level. All the cons were small and insignificant, we would definitely stay again.

Bathroom needs a bit of renovation for a hotel of this level. What should be definitely changed are bathtub mats which have fungus on them. We also ordered a fruit plate for the check-in, it was served with a very small plate and a blunt knife - I am sure there is a better way to either pre-cut the fruits, or serve them with appropriate cutlery and plates.

What separates a 5 star from others is the service. Taj Bentota staff especially the kitchen staff are outstanding. A big shout to Chef Piyush and his team(special mention of Chef Dalip) who are excellent. Apart from this location, amenities and care they take is outstanding. We will definitely return

Maybe the buffet can be priced a bit more economically (dinner ). Also some of the staff were not fluent in English. They should also think about a kids club
