A nice small boutique hotel with a smaller number of rooms and located in a great area of Tamarindo. Quiet, but close to town center with shops and restaurants. Breakfast was good and available from 6:30am to 9:30am everyday with 7 or 8 menu items to choose from. The pool was nice and refreshing. There was 24 hour security and the rooms had security boxes. We stayed in a bungalow with two beds (two singles up and one king down), kitchen and bathroom. The bungalow had a full size fridge, gas stove and microwave. There were cutlery, pots and other kitchen items. There was daily maid service and they provided beach and pool towels.

The lounge chairs around the pool were nice to have, but they were all wood and didn't have any cushions. It might have been because it was raining a lot on and off, but when you lounged in them they were uncomfortable.

We liked the pool and the location. It was close enough to the beach, maybe a 5 minutes walk. The room was big and the aircon worked perfectly. We liked our stay and would book it again. The bed was very comfortable.

If the water is not working, it's the water pump. You need to ask at the front desk. It's OK that water is not always available, but we had to ask twice to have someone over to restart the water pump. It did work afterwards. Do it otherwise, the water will not work properly. Some of the facilities didn't work, like the coffee maker, we helped ourselves and mentioned it at the front desk, didn't help. The breakfast was rather limited, in comparison to where had stayed (for less). Staff was available more than I had read about.

Beautiful property situated close to downtown and easy walking, but feels like you are in your own magical oasis. The rooms were spacious and so clean. There is a beautiful pool with lounge chairs, and an area with games for families. The breakfasts were fresh with good choices. There is a little gym and I believe they offer yoga as well. There were monkeys in the trees but they were quiet and we almost didn't notice they were there.

We loved everything!

The main street of Tamarindo can be very busy, hot and dusty. Hotel Luna Llena is a cool and quiet little oasis tucked away with an easy walk to the beach. Great A/C, lovely pool, tasty breakfast, friendly staff, huge bathroom. We only stayed one night, but I would have happily stay more.

I was disappointed that no one was working the pool bar when we were there. It appeared to be open, but I never saw anyone to order from until staff came out to put away the supplies at closing time. If there was a sign for how to flag attention, I missed it.

The facilities were great! And the location was perfect for us. We love being in town but we hate staying in town and this hotel was close enough to be in town in about 7 minutes on foot. It was far enough off the main drag to be in a world on its own but it was also close enough to be back in town doing things and having fun and still not a long walk back. The staff was great and they were able to help us with everything we asked!

We loved the location, facilities, free breakfast and staff. Russell, Katherine, and bartender Walter, were amazing and so helpful. We were a big group and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We will stay there again when we return to Tamarindo.

WiFi was spotty and would go in and out triggering my cellular plan to start a "Travel Pass" even though I had WiFi access. Would be nice if the rooms had shampoo, conditioner and soap in the dispensers attached within the showers.

Great bungalows with mini-kitchens. Nice lounging and pool area. Breakfast is fabulous in the morning.

Most of the staff were very kind and helpful. One woman who seemed in charge in the morning was rude and made you fell uncomfortable. They do an all property encompassing white cloud bug spray (probably very necessary but had nowhere to go. It smelled as if the noxious gas entered my room even though I shut everything tight.

The staff was excellent, English fluent, knowledgeable, and courteous. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, with a generous menu and hot coffee. The pool area had a variety of lounging and conversation areas and, at night, was well guarded. Except for the troop of howler monkeys appearing regularly each evening in nearby trees, the location was tranquil. Truth be told, we looked forward to watching the monkeys. There was also a gym and yoga area we used each morning. Finally, the bed was wonderfully comfortable and the bathroom and walk-in shower huge.

The shadeless windows featured translucent glass rendering seeing outdoors impossible. If we had not brought sleeping masks with us, the outdoor security lights would have made sleep very difficult.

We stayed in one of the bungalows which was comfortably spacious for two and well-equipped (small kitchen, AC, fan, hairdryer etc.). The staff is super nice, breakfast is plentiful and it’s only 2-block from the ocean.

If they could fix the tap in the bathroom (calcareous and leaking) and start the noisy renovation work around the bungalows later than 6am that would make the whole place perfect.
