We been staying in the room with private kitchen what was great to have (kitchen is outdoors and has all necessary tools/pans/plates/etc). It was nice to take a carry out and relax after busy day while still staying outdoors. I wasn’t a big fan of swimming in ocean and pool at the hotel was a perfect option to cooldown and relax during most hot hours of the day. Check in was quick and owner made sure we like our room. She (and her staff) was very welcome and ready to answer on all questions. Great location in the center and very close to the beach. Breakfast was great. My son loved pancakes and I am fan of omelet. Rooms were clean and additional housekeeping was done during the stay. The only down point was a bed comfort and stairs to mezzanine where bed was, but it’s me as I am not young. My son was satisfied with pillow/bed comfort. Wi-Fi was good, no issues. They have routers within the property, make sure you connect to the closer one to your room. I got good price and quality met my expectations per that price. I will come back and will recommend to my friends.

The location was great, the staff were great, the facility was great. The staff were super friendly. We felt very safe even when walking back to the hotel at 2 am. Hotel Boruca is a gem in Tamarindo. Perfectly located next to the main downtown area. It is less than a 5 min walk to the beach. It is far enough away that we had no issues with noise from the bars and clubs. The facility is perfect for relaxing and starting your day. The breakfast choices are many and cooked by an amazing señorita, who will make you laugh too. Maintenance is readily available at all parts of day. It was a very clean property. Bonus having breakfast outside we were joined by iguanas and monkeys. For the price you will not do better in Tamarindo.

Value for your money! The staff and owners are extremely kind and make sure to meet every need. I stayed with my best friend for a few days and we both absolutely loved it. The pool is fabulous, breakfast is delicious and the location is perfect. Close to the beach and restaurants about 3-5 minute walk. Very close to wildlife as well which I loved, parrots, howler monkeys, singing birds, iguanas!

Very green - feels in the nature; nice decor; a wonderful swimming pool to enjoy before breakfast (we woke up early because of monkeys on trees around the hotel, and we made a bit of early noise with kids in the swimming pool but the owner was very gentle reminding us of an early hour…); a great coffee shop just next door; a good location; accommodating staff.

As pointed out here by others, the furniture is run down and not particularly comfortable; rooms and bathrooms are small; no mosquito nets on windows in some rooms (while those are actually very relevant).

The hotel was stunning, especially the courtyard in the center where we ate breakfast every morning. The staff members were delightful and very helpful. The overall tone of the place was very peaceful. The location was perfect as it was a few doors down from a supermarket as well as a bank. It was an 8 minute walk to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay. The included breakfast was excellent with a choice between a smoothie bowl, a fruit bowl, gallo pinto or pancakes. Traveling with my family there was something for everyone!

My only complaint would be the strength of the chemicals in the pool. The pool itself was beautiful, but the smell of the chemicals was unpleasant and gave me pause. Other than that, I highly recommend!!

The owners and staff were great, the location was perfect! We were only in town for one full day, with so many people to see, and things to do, so we didn’t have breakfast, but we were able to have dinner at the restaurant. Just as delicious as we remember from a few years ago! The pool was cute, clean, and well tended. Zero complaints, about our stay, and we will stay here again when we are back in town!

Great location, no issues with parking, comfy room with a good shower and aircon. Outside areas were lovely and well cared for, pool was great. Wildlife in the trees to back. Breakfasts were really good and staff were welcoming and professional. We had a great stay. We loved Tabu bar 5 mins away on the beach and Oveja restaurant just across the road. Nearby supermarket

Nothing - all good

This was a lovely little oasis in the midst of busy Tamarindo. The hotel has lots of character and a lot of love and care goes into maintaining the property. The staff were so lovely and welcoming and made me feel completely at home during my stay as a solo female traveller. The rooms are clean and well kept. The breakfast is excellent and the grounds are beautiful! I loved it so much I even booked an extra nights stay for my last evening in Costa Rica. I would definitely recommend for couples, solo travellers and families alike.

Great location! I loved the common areas. The room is not luxury but the price is right for the room , I would even say its a great deal. Me and my 2 friends got a 3 bedroom room and we all slept there comfortably, the staff was friendly and helpful and the included breakfast was great! This is a great value for the price. Location is 2 min walk from downtown Tamarindo and 10min walk from tamarindo beach. I will definitely stay there again

The bathroom is kind of small but you get what you pay for.

The property is absolutely beautiful, I liked the pool and there were howler monkeys! It was a little pricey, but it was clean and in a good location, so I can't really complain too much. I appreciated the strong wifi and the comfy bed.

I wish they would offer breakfast a little earlier for the divers and snorkelers out here. It was difficult to shut and open the door without the key since the door didn't latch fully without it.
