Great central location with easy access to the hot river walk (one of our favourite things to do) and a good base location to explore the golden circle if you have your own car. Super clean, good breakfast and good evening food choices (although a bit pricey, but so is everywhere in Iceland!). Close to a bonus supermarket and ice cream parlour (worth a visit!).

Not much we didn’t like but as we stayed on a Friday and the bar downstairs was really busy with people talking loudly outside up to 3am. Wasn’t awful but was enough to wake our kids up.

Beautiful hotel and common spaces Beds are comfortable Really nice “gift shop” in the lobby (but very expensive) Good location Pool tickets were a nice touch (pool is great!) Hairdryer provided Nice size bathroom and nice built-in sitting area.

Food hall was good idea in theory, but execution is meh. Air quality was terrible (need better venting?) and even with 5 restaurants, very little to choose from for celiacs (and mostly greasy burgers and fish and chips). Bathroom ends up being a wet room with the way shower is situated. Heat cannot be adjusted in the room! It was freezing in there when we got in and we were hoping to warm up and dry out wet clothes and boots. Could not adjust the radiator (couldn’t access knob) and no thermostat.

Really cool facilities and design- it was so nice to have so many relatively good and reasonable food options right onsite, and the space and concept is beautiful. The rooms were as expected, and were comfortable and well appointed. Staff was friendly. The property is in the middle of town, close to Bonus and other shopping areas. The local thermal pool tickets were a nice touch in substitute.

The only caveat of our stay (as mentioned in previous reviews)is that the lounge upstairs was close for renovation, which was a bit disappointing (particularly because we were not notified until we arrived). When marketed amenities are unavailable, it is common in hospitality to provide either discount or an alternative amenity.

The location is great, at the center of a small village. The food court on the ground floor is really nice, lots of choices and with a nice vibe. There are also cafés and restaurants nearby. The room had an interesting design, really well thought, with hooks and hangers everywhere, so useful. Space was well optimised, we really appreciated having a bench. The room was cold when we arrived and we just asked reception to put it on, it worked straight away and spent 2 cozy nights. Breakfast is not worth it but there is a nice café next door, at the Bonus mall.

Soundproofing is non existant unfortunately. Upstairs neighbours stomping is next level if you're unlucky like me to always have the clumsiest and heavy footed person above your head.. But the worst is the windows. At first we thought it was open because we could hear absolutely everything outside, but no, very well closed. Just a bad sealing maybe? Teenagers come to the food court and bar downstairs with their very loud bikes so that's a real problem. Would have given 10/10 if there was some kind of soundproof.

Great location, comfy bed, nice bathroom and convenient and cute bar plus food vendors in the hotel. The shops attached were full of goodies for purchase. Self check in was perfect and didn’t require any staff assistance. Bakery across the street is great for breakfast or cake/coffee. We used a discount flyer from our room for the brewery next door. You also receive free local pool tickets which is a great way to experience the local culture — wishes we could’ve stayed longer to try it.

Because this is in a town center plus has a bar in the hotel, know this will be a bit noisy especially on weekends. We heard some parking lot noise a bit after midnight but it shortly subsided.

Family room with bunk beds for kids was greatly appreciated as it can be hard to find 4 person rooms in many countries we have visited. Staff was very friendly and informative. Food Hall and lounge was a fantastic surprise and had a nice selection of good food and drinks. Location was perfect for checking out the Lava Tunnel, Hveragerði Thermal Park and the Reykjadalur Hot Spring Thermal River.

Room was a bit warm even with heat turned off. Had to leave windows open all night in March.

For some reason I was expecting a "green" hotel, and it was nothing like what I had envisioned. The interior of the hotel has a very cool vibe - there's a section selling all sorts of Icelandic items as well as foods. They also have a really interesting bar area and seating. There's an outdoor lounge but that wasn't too exciting. I think they have a pool as well but we didn't see that. The rooms are small but fine. Didn't like the design of the bathroom - the entire floor got wet after taking a shower, but that's a minor complaint.

The design of the bathroom. Would have been better if the shower area was cordoned off from the rest of the bathroom; after a shower the entire floor was wet.

I thought that very comfortable beds were only possible in Austria, but no - The Greenhouse Hotel managed to beat any place I've stayed in so far. And there are lots of them. Then there are many lovely places to eat downstairs. And enough parking spaces for all guests. And special kudos goes to the WhatsApp group warning you about Northern Lights happening - it really helped us see the magic.

I can't say there was anything I didn't like. A bit of the surprise was that there is no cleaning included, which also means no trash is taken out for you unless you ask. But I'm pretty-sure it was me not paying attention to the rules when booking. It's not a big deal - going downstairs and asking for something wasn't a problem for me, especially considering daily driving, which required going downstairs anyway.

Excellent location with lots of options for food, and loved the notice board in the rooms which provided you with local information and we used the discount leaflet for the local pizza restaurant and microbrewery up the road. Really nice size room with everything thought of and excellent gift shop downstairs at reasonable prices. Favourite part was the northern lights WhatsApp group you can join and they will let you know if they are visible throughout the night!

When you opened the window was quite noisy due to being near the road.
