Excellent dinner options! They have a warm bathtub outside the building.

Options for breakfast could be enhanced.

I have booked Eldhestar for the second year in a row now and like lat year, everything was perfect. Maybe even better. The staff was really helpful, they also printed the boarding passes for my return flight. I also booked a dinner with them and the food was really good. It is a perfect place if you are seeking for Aurora. It is best to drive 30 minutes away in more remote area if you are willing to have more professional photos. There are some lights in a northern part of the hotel, but nothing too bright. Every cell phone captured the northern lights. The rooms are quite spacious. If my wallet will allow me, I will be returning again this year.

Second visit to Eldhester. Rooms recently refurbished but it was very busy with coach parties and we felt a bit second fiddle to the large groups. Complementary tea and coffee in reception all day (no facility in room) and lovely hot tubs overlooking the horse paddocks.

Staff prioritised the large coach groups so difficult to get service at meal times. Breakfast was a bit if a scrum at 7am when it opened. The chairs in the bar area are now very worn and tired. Quality of dinner has gone down since my last visit - food now plainer and more basic (fish and meat were over cooked and very limited menu).

I booked this hotel mainly because of it's close location to a lot of nearby attractions. They have ample parking which was handy as I had a car rental and never struggled to find a spot. breakfast was also included which was a bonus. The room was comfortable and had all the amenities I needed. Please note that there is no mini fridge nor safe in the room. I loves however the in-floor heating. The breakfast was was standard continental breakfast, but also offered scrambled eggs, bacon and waffle making facilities. At extra cost you could also have lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant. I liked that you could help yourself to coffee, tea and biscuits at any time during the day. They also have a hot tub, but I didn't get the chance to use it during my stay.

The only thing I can think of is that the buffet table where the food is could be better organised. It can get quite hard sometimes walking around, especially if it gets really busy. I also found the plates way too small. But these are only slight inconveniences and wouldn't stop me from recommending this place.

We ended up getting in very late due to extenuating circumstances and the staff were very understanding when I called them to let them know, which was a huge relief. The room was very large with vaulted ceilings. The floors were heated floors which was nice. The breakfast buffet was good and well stocked. It was very close to town which was a bonus.

The floors are heated floors, but when we arrived they weren't on, so our room was ice cold. There is not a furnace on the wall so we couldn't heat up the room quickly.

Very clean, spacious, large tv and good size for a family. Child sleep next to tv. Lovely and warm with large shower. The food at the hotel was excellent in the evening and breakfast was great -especially the waffles. Waffles, tv, size of the room and bar on site. And all of the snow.

No drying room. Communal area was a bit small. Coffee machine. Would be nice to have the option to find out more about the farm and meet horses without signing up to a riding experience especially if have children under 7.

We were greeted by friendly staff who welcomed us to hang out in the lobby until our room was ready. There was always coffee, tea and cookies available there and a comfortable place to read, journal or play a game. Daily breakfast was a highlight — plenty of options. We loved watching the horses graze outside our window every morning and afternoon. The location was perfect for us (with a rental car) to get to Reykjavik and to sites around the Golden Circle.

The pillows were too soft for my liking.

The room was large, new, clean & the beds quite comfortable.

A hot breakfast would have been nice. There was no hairdryer in the room which I didn't discover until the next morning after my hair was shampooed; so, had to pad down to the reception desk (with wet hair) to ask for one. Parking was less than optimal for a facility of this size. Staff was friendly; but, took a long time (over 10 minutes) to acknowledge my presence at the desk when I arrived for check-in. No other guests were at the desk and several of them looked directly at me while I stood at the desk.

A great place to stay outside of Reykjavik before we started our small road trip along the south coast. Room was clean and comfortable and staff were welcoming. The breakfast was ok and there was plenty of choice. There’s also a supermarket just over the road which was useful to stock up on supplies for the rest of the trip.

The room was very hot and it would have been nice to have an extra pillow (but that’s me being picky!)

Our arrival and check-in went good, really nice staff. Breakfast is great, very diverse and 10 stars for the wafle iron! The room is not too big, but big enough. Clean. Not a great view, but plenty of highlights in the surroundings (waterfalls, hot springs or geiser). The Islandic horses are beautiful and you can go to the stable to pet them. Really great feature! Also they give a discount for guests to go horse riding. The people at the stable are also very friendly and helpful.

When showering, whether in the morning or evening, it would take many minutes before the water is warm. Once warm, it's a great shower.
